Downloading (using iOS or computer) past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not all media formats are available in all countries (see: iTunes in the Cloud, iTunes Match, and iTunes Radio availability by country - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085); apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this).  Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list (e.g., ringtones, audiobooks), or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple recommends,  "... back up your iTunes library. Hi Janelh,
I also confused about this, I can't do that by myself I don't know the reason. I search it and see phone transfer tool needed. However what is the best tool? Maybe copy data from old iPhone to pc first? Just to see here:  how about it?

  • How to recover purchased applications

I purchased several applications like pages, numbers, but my iPad was frozen.  When I reset the IPad my applications are lost.  How to recover them now?  Thank you.

You may be able to some info/application off of your icloud account in the itunes store. To recover apps, enter the app store > purchesed - and click on the apps you want to redownload ect... And contacts should be synced with your icloud account, so should still be there for you.

  • How to recover purchased apps after changing an Apple ID?

So I changed my apple id because my current email address is not working anymore on Yahoo. The next day when I checked for some updated on my apps, I found out that my deleted apps under "Not on this iPod" button are missing! And so I checked the store for my recent purchase and it has price. So it means I have to pay for them again to download! Anyone please help me how to recover them all!

Despite the fact that your old email doesn't work doesn't work anymore, the Apple ID still does.  Log out and back in again with the old ID and downlload the apps.  When finished, log out/in again to get back to your new ID.
These apps should sync to iTunes on your computer.  If they do not, do the same log out/in in iTunes to retrieve the apps and store them on your computer.
The Sync function is totally independent of which ID was used to obtain the apps, music, movies, etc.  The only time that you will care is when you need to update the app.  If you choose to do it from iTunes, you must again log out/in to update.  However, the iPod handles that for you and all you'll need is the correct password.

  • How to find purchased ringtones on iPhone 4s

I'm new to all this. New to iPhone, new to smart phones, basically new to iTunes - I've had the software on my computers for years, somewhere along the line I created an account but really never used iTunes.
I bought a ringtone on my phone and want to put in on my wife's phone - we share the same iTunes account. After I purchased the ringtone, it showed up in my ringtones fine. However I can't figure out how to get it on the other phone, while playing around trying to find the way I went to the store from my phone, from the ringtones settings and can't even find that purchase at all. I know I was charged for it. When I look at recent purchases it has options for:
    Music
    Movies
    TV Shows
When I tap Music it shows all the music we've purchased but no ringtones - no option for Ringtones or Tones on recent purchases so I'm lost, please help and remember, I come from a Windows background and am not that fimilar with iTunes. I've googled for restoring lost ringtones but all the directions seem to be for a previous version of iTunes because I can't find what they are talking about.
    Thank You for your help!!

while I was playing around last night in between your answers to my questions I hit 'Consolidate Files' on the right click for the ringtone and didn't restart iTunes, didn't think about it last night but if the files were moved maybe iTunes needed to be restarted. I do not know this software but I'm guessing that is the cuase of my problems.
However I did hit Revert and Apply so I don't know.
On iTunes when you click menu File > Library > Organize Library... > Consolidate Files, you are letting iTunes manage your content, it will make a copy of your content to the path where iTunes keeps indices, media structures, etc.
It is a good idea to do that since it will update the database as well.
I am wondering if I should delete the back-ups for both phones and start over following your procedures again, I'm just a bit leary to do that. If I go that route, would I need to deregister and re-register phones too?
You can delete the backups in iTunes > Preferences...(Windows: Edit > Preferences...) > Devices > delete the backup here. After that, you can right click on iPhone in iTunes sidebar and do a fresh new Backup.

No, you do not need to de-register and re-register iPhones.

  • How to send purchased ringtones to my iPhone

I have purchased two tunes (via a Ringtones app) and converted them to ringtones of less than 40 seconds.  I have managed to get the ringtones onto my desktop, but cannot now get them to my phone.  I've used directions from the Ringtones app and directions from my Iphone user book, but when I try to drag the tone to "tunes" I am unsuccessful.  The entire "tunes, purchases, etc." box lights up and the ringtone does not show up afterwards in "tones."  I have a feeling there's something simple I'm missing, but this is not an intuitive process.
    Any help will be appreciated.

Sync them from your computer.  You can only download ringtones from the iTunes Store once per fee paid.

  • How to Recover purchased songs from iTunes store?

I recently fixed my iTunes, but in the process I've seemed to have lost about half of my purchased songs. When I go to "My Music" folder to try to get them back they are not there, but in my account I have a recipt of all my purchased songs (so I can prove I've bought them). Any ideas on how to get them back? Thanks for the help.

f you didn't make a back-up of your purchases to restore from then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on any of the links on this page you'll find a space at the bottom to email your query: iTMS Customer Service
If you have an iPod that still has the purchases on it the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer

If they do not show up under ringtones, then they are not ringtones.
There are several ways to create ringtones. Google will find them.

I inadvertently deleted the ringtones that came with my LG VS840.  Is there some way to get those ringtones back?

The ringtones that come with an android device is saved in an area of the phone where the normal user doesn't have read write access only read only. How in the world did you delete them?
Have you tried to factory reset the device to see that restores the ringtones?
