How to recover replaced photos? They exist in iPhoto last import though.

HHow should I recover the pictures that I lost while replacing them? Though they exist in my iPhoto last import but I am not able to even enlarge them.

What version of iphoto? Is OS X 10.7.5 correct? What has recently changed? What exactly do you mean by "replacing them"? Exactly step by step how were you doing that?
Probably the solution is going to be to restore your backup from before you lost your photos by replacing them
And if they are in "last import" then they are in an event in your library (unless you have been mucking around inside the iphoto library using the finder or "claning" software (which is not needed and should not be used) - select one in last import and show event to see where it is

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    You can recover any photos in photostream, by logging into your account on your computer. Any photos that are in the camera roll and not in photostream may be in your backup if yo kept one. When you replace your phone, restore it using this back up.

    If deleted photos from your iPhone and did not backup up to a computer or iCloud, they cannot be recovered.

    Photos are not in iTunes, but they could be in an iTunes backup if you had run one. However, you say you never backed up, so there would be no way to recover them.

    The only way photos are stored in icloud is in a backup from an ios device.  This assumes that icloud backup was turned on and that camera roll was turned on.  Note that photo stream is a slightly different service that is used to sync photos from one device to another, it's not really a storage service.
    To retrieve photos that are in a backup, you need to reset a device (wipe all data from it) and perform a restore.  Note that many users have had problems getting their photos back from a backup - for one reason or another.  Remember, the suggested way of storing photos is to sync them to a computer or service like Dropbox.

    Go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings.  This will erase your device.  Then you will go through the setup screens again as you did when your device was new, and when given the option, select Restore from iCloud Backup.

    I don't think recovery software will help since the file isn't just deleted, it's overwritten.  If you want to try, the backups are located at one of these locations:
    Mac OS: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup

    Windows Vista: %AppData%\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

    I am not sure, which answer you found - so just in case:
    If you sync your iPhone with the iPhoto library, the photos will only stay on the iPhone until the next sync and they are not in the Camera Roll. If you transfer using the Photo Stream, they will only be vidsible in the stream, until they are replaced in iCloud by newer content.
    So, if you want to transfer the photos permanently, save them to the Camera Roll.

    That is not possible - PhotoStream has no organizational capability - no albums or other organization
    With the correct software versions You can import from PS into an iPhoto event on your Mac either automatically (by setting the iPhoto preference to do that) or manually and then you can add the photos ot an iPhoto album and sync to Apple TV
