How to recover scrap in usage decision in QA32

Hi friends,
I have done tra QA32 , and in usage decision i enter the unrestricted qty and scrap qty. but in scrap qty i havent specify the sto location. so can i recover my scrap qty.
and how.

Hi,
In your scenario,When the material is rejected transfer the material to blocked stock.When u need for production then u can make a transfer posting to unrestricted from blocked stock.
When you are transfering the material to scrap with cost center then that material cannot be restored.So you should be aware before putting the material to scrap.

Scrapping via Usage Decision in QM Mvt type 553

Hi All,
I am trying to post a scrap in QM via Usage decision using mvt type 553. When I do the Usage Decision to scrap, instead of processing the movement, I get the Goods Issue initial scree. I expect that the stock posting should go into scrap with mvt type 553. Anyone had a smilar issue in the past.

I can't say I've seen this behavior before in the system.
My guess is that someone has enabled a user exit somewhere in your system that is causing this behavior and it has little to nothing to do with the QM UD. The user exit may not have been written to take into account when a particular positng is done by the UD process in the background and is forcing behavior to run MB1A with a specific movement type.
I would run this in debug mode with a programmer to try and identify where and how the movement type is being modified.

Automatic Batch creation at the time of usage decision in qa32

hi all,
while doing usage decision in transaction qa32, user has to enter batch. can this batch assignment be done automatically at any stage of quality inspection? any ideas?

Hi,
When the Material is subjected to Quality management & batch management is active for that material.
Then during Goods receipt you can use automatic batch for that material so the material will be in Quality inspection with batch update
when you do the GR in 101
Whenever you do the usage decision then the same batch will flow.

ASSET PURCHASE ORDER , USAGE DECISION IN QA32

HI,
WE CREATE PURCHASE ORDER WITH ACCOUNT ASSIGNMENT 'A ' WHICH IS A ASSET MATERIAL WHICH GOES FOR QUALITY .
WE DO GOODS RECEIPT AND ASSET MATERIAL GETS CAPITALISED AT GRN STAGE AND IT GOES FOR QUALITY INSPECTION IN QA32.
MY REQUIREMENT IS , AT QA32 STAGE RESULT RECORDING CAN BE DONE BUT REJECTION OF PARTIAL QUANTITY CANNOT BE DONE COZ INSPECTION LOT STOCK TAB IS NOT THERE.
IS THERE ANY POSSIBILITY ?

Result recording is very much possible if you have task list in place for the material with usage 5 & you have made necessary setting like "char char " in the inspection type.
Stock posting is not possible as material gets consume against cost center.that is a reason partial stock posting is also not possible.
One solution can be partial reversal of consumption against cost center may be through Mb1b-->202 mvt. I am not sure what is exact procedure you follow,but here what I mean is reverse posting through inventory mgt.(from unrestricted stock)

Usage Decision QA32

Hi,
After doing Usage Decision in QA32 and when trying to save system is asking for a serial number. Why is the system asking the Serial number at this stage..??
Should I need to define the Serial number earlier only..?? If so when and where should I define? What for system is asking to define the Serial number..??

Hi,
System asks Serial number because the material is already has been assigned serialised profile in material master.
Secondly if serialised profile in config is made mandatory for QMSL object
third. If you give UD as accepted or blocked and stock post full qty to unrestricted or blocked stock,system wont ask u to give serial number as all serial nos are accepted.
Where as if you are posting only partail qty. system do not understand how which serial number needs to be posted to which stock hence it asks for serial number.

try it in QA32
with the ins lot no
Go to QA02 and give the Inspection Lot no and press enter.
In the new screen, select the tab "Inspection Specification/Task" and in that press the "Task List" button. Then you will receive a msg that Inspection Plan is attached to Inspection Lot.
You can go to the "Sampling" tab and click the "Sample" Button if you want to assign a sampling procedure & plan.
After that press save.
Now the status becomes REL.
Next, you can do the Result Recording (from QA32 screen or use QE51N)
Once all results are entered and saved, the status become INSP.
Now, do the Usage Decision (QA32 / QA11) and here give the acceptace code and post the stock into Unrestricted stock
If no Inspection Plan is found,
1. Inspection Plan is not available. Check in QP03 for the material/plant combination the availability of plan. If not available, create it using QP01.
2. The date of creation of Plan is later that date of creation of Inspection Lot. In this case, in QA02 give the key date as before the date of creation of plan.

Solution to Non-Reversal of Usage Decision

Hi Experts,
I have facing an Issue over Goods movement .
Issue is User has done GR against PO using Transaction MIGO with mvmt Type - 101 and GR is posted to Quality stock for inspection , there user has accepted the usage Decision using QA32 and posted the Stock to Unrestricted using movement type -321. But Now they want to cancel the GR earlier done because they have posted wrong Quantity.
Now since reversal of UD is not a standard solution and also is not a immediate solution to this problem, so what solution i should suggest to client to have his requirement fulfilled for this Issue without doing reversal of UD. We can think of Developing Zprogram of reversal of UD later.
your response will be appreciated.

It is time to correct something.
first of all the initial question was already a frequently discussed question.
The question " will any accounting entries get effected" is again a basic and frequently discussed question.
You have to search before posting - this is a rule in SCN
Unfortunately I was not present to reject this question right away, as this would have been a better solution, as it had forced you to search. But rejecting it now will only create damage since you got wrong advice.
Not sure where all these myths come from and why they are spread.
A return is something quite different from a cancellation, even that both lead to zero stock at the end, a return is used in external processing, it is about sending materials back to your vendor, a cancellation of a receipt is pure internal processing to correct a wrong entered value (no physical movement). It is statistically not the same, receiving and cancelling it again is just as good as not received anything as it nullifies. Receiving and doing a return are different processes , an inbound and an outbound process, it is visible separately. It is taken into account in vendor evaluation.
To cancel the receipt movement after the usage decision you can use MIGO, but do not choose cancel material document, because the material document only knows that the stock is in quality status, which is not the case anymore after a usage decision.
just do again goods receipt - reference to PO - but change then the movement type to the cancellation movement type (102).
Then goto the detail into WHERE tab and change status to the stock status your stock has right now.
Do you really think that "Developing Zprogram of reversal of UD" would do any good (or just create inconsistencies) if the processes and basic handling of MIGO are not even understood?

WM - QM usage decision scrap - automatic TO creation

How can I realize an automatic transfer order processing for the following scenario:
MIGO Goods receipt posting with reference to PO into quality
QA11 Usage decision Scrap
Transfer requirement (WM mtype 551 / IM mtype 553) is being created but although the correct storage type (902 GR area external rcpts) is being determined the system cannot process the transfer order in background since the respective storage bin (dynamic IM-material document) cannot be determined => error message u201CSystem cannot find source storage binu201D.
I am able to process the transfer order in foreground successfully. Via u201Cstock figuresu201D (F7) the system is able to determine the respective storage bin (including stock search with inspection lot) correctly so I wonder why this is not being done in the background processing.

Hi,
Bin can be determined automatically only based on the strategy (for your case, it's removal strategy) assigned to the storage type in question. For 902, it's a interim storage type without strategy assigned.
I am afraid you can only manually process the TR in foreground for your scenario. Otherwise, you may consider putting away QI stock from 902 into a normal storage type. You should then be able to process the TR of scrap in background.

How to Create Custom Usage Decisions

Hi,
I am working in ECC 6.0. I want to create a Custom Usage decision (Plant Specific). I can not remember where to go to set this up?
If I use transaction QS41 and set up my own Code Group under Catalog type 3 (Usage Decision), where can I attach the Selected Set that tells the system how to post the Usage Decision (i.e. Unrestricted, Restricted, Scrap...)
Any help with this would be huge.

I get confused sometimes with this.
When I go into QS51..I get to choose Catalog Type 3 (Usage Decision) and my Plant. Then I create my Selected Set. I highlight that and Double Click on Selected Set Codes. Inside there I create my Accept and Reject codes and assign Posting Proposals. From there I save.
I just ran a MIGO transaction and created an 01 type Inspection Lot. I tried to go in and do a Usage Decision on it. When I hit the drop down...it gives me the Original SAP Catalog. I do not see my Selected Set I just created.
Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Changing posting date at usage decision for handle units. How?

Does anybody know how to change posting date at usage decision for handle units (HU)?
If the material is not managed by HU, SAP allows this modification (there's a button with a hat on it referring the material document header).
For HU I cannot seem to change posting date!

Yes it's possible! Well,...unless for versions 4.6C, 4.7 and ECC 5.
I've found SAP Note #752131 by which SAP declares that you can create the pushbutton from the Screen Painter referring the document header.
That's all,.....so simple, and it works fine!
This note applies ONLY to version 4.6C, 4.7and ECC 5 (which is the version the customer I am with has installed).

The customization for defining the posting direction (e.g. unrestricted use or block stock) is here.
SPRO > Quality Management > Quality Inspection > Inspection lot completion > Define inventory postings. There are the fields what you can see in QA11 for stock posting, if you'd like to add new fields waht you want, then add that there and also need to activate the user exit QEVA0001 with your soure code, please go to SMDO to read the documentation.
If you'd like to post the stock automatically according to respective UD code inputted, then you can go to QS51 and tick on the field 'Stock screen background' and select the posting direction for the UD code, then the system will automatically post all of the stock without asking user to input the quantity to be posted.

You can change Usage decision , but you cannot reverse usage decision directly. You need to look for SAP notes.

To find material document no. :
1. if you know the lot number, you can use QA03 (Display lot) Tcode and click on the item mat doc. The doc no with type 3 assigned is your required material doc.
2. Goto MB51, and use movement type 553, material and plant and execute to get the material no.
To reverse from scrap to QI:
1. Activate insp. type 05 in QM view of material master.
2. Goto MB1A, use movement type 554 to transfet the quantity. Lot will be generated in QI, do UD and transfer the lot to unrestricted usage.
