  • Secure Link for iTunes store failed... Got anything?

Every time I try to open up iTunes store, it wouldn't open. I ran the diagnostics report and it said the ( for first time ) that "Secure link for iTunes store failed". The second time I ran it, just to make sure, said that "secure link for iTunes store is successful. I got confused. So I copied the successful report for you guys to see if there's a problem. **NOTE** I never had or downloaded Norton, or Proxyserver, I even checked to see if it was on the computer. I have Windows Firewall, and Verizon Security, and my computer is a Window's 7. Here's the successful report of the diagnostics so you techies out there could figure what the problem is:

I have the same problem and I'm beyond frustrated. I just want iTunes 10.5 to work properly so I can download iOS 5 to my iPad. I've uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled iTunes (and all other apple programs) a dozen times.  I've uninstalled Norton since I read that might be causing the block. I've checked my firewall and have done a "flush". I'm out of ideas!!!

I need to find the security code for my Airport Extreme to connect to my Smart TV

Unfortunately, locating the long 64 character code will rarely ever help, since most products will not accept a code of this length.
    Nonetheless.......
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the AirPort Extreme icon, then click Edit
Click the Base Station menu at the very top of the screen
    Click Show Passwords

  • Security Questions for iTunes Store

Two days ago, I purchased a new iPhone.  Yesterday, I wanted to make a purchase on my phone through the iTunes Store.  As usual, I was asked for my password.  No problem.  Then, because it was my first time purchasing through my new phone, I got a message that I would have to answer some additional information.  A screen opened asking me to answer two security questions that I didn't know the answers to.  I have had the same iTunes account for over 10 years and definitely didn't remember who I answered for my favorite teacher and least favorite teacher at the time I set it up.  There is no link for resetting the questions, trying different questions, or getting help if you forgot the answers.  You either have to give up or continue guessing until you are locked out of your account.  I followed the link for online help and was informed that I would get a response in 24-48 hours.  I called Apple Care who told me that I needed to visit iForgot.apple.com to reset my password.  I explained to 5 Apple Care reps that nothing was wrong with my password.  I got an email response within one hour telling me to go to iForgot.apple.com (which, by the way, requires you to answer security questions in order to reset your password).  Eventually, (after TWO HOURS) an Apple Rep said she could connect me to Apple Security Team.  She waited on hold with me, breaking up the garbled music every so often to let me know she was still there.  After 17 minutes on hold, I was disconnected.  Even though she asked for my phone number so that she could call me in the unlikely event that we were disconnected, she never tried to call me back.  Today, I tried again.  The rep was more helpful but after 15 minutes on hold for the Security Team, she came back to tell me that the wait time was actually ONE AND A HALF HOURS!  Total time wasted on the phone today- 35 minutes.  I just wanted to buy a ring tone.  I am SO disappointed in Apple.  I have never, in over 25 years, had this poor of an experience as an Apple loyalist.  Supposedly, the Security Team rep will call me between 7:45 and 8:00am tomorrow.  THREE DAYS of not being able to use the iTunes Store through my new phone because I can't remember who I listed as my favorite teacher.  Unbelievable.  Very much an unsatisfied customer right now.

  • How to Recover purchased songs from iTunes store?

I recently fixed my iTunes, but in the process I've seemed to have lost about half of my purchased songs. When I go to "My Music" folder to try to get them back they are not there, but in my account I have a recipt of all my purchased songs (so I can prove I've bought them). Any ideas on how to get them back? Thanks for the help.

f you didn't make a back-up of your purchases to restore from then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on any of the links on this page you'll find a space at the bottom to email your query: iTMS Customer Service
If you have an iPod that still has the purchases on it the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer

  • How to recover restriction code for iphone4

Hi. My mom handed over her iphone4 for my husband's use temporarily while he's purchasing a new unit. He just had an accident and his phone was broken. Unfortunately we cannot reset the unit because it requires a restriction code. Bad thing neither my mother nor my brother who initially did the setting process of the unit remembers. I need help on this please? Thanks!

Since it's a "Restrictions Passcode" you can't remember, & NOT the phone passcode, ignore Carolyn's post & read here:
    http://www.iphonebackupextractor.com/blog/2014/jan/28/recover-ios-7-ipad-or-ipho ne-restrictions-passcode/
It's either something like that, or you'll have to restore the phone as "new", not from backup, to remove it.

  • How to change apple ID for itunes store

I recently set up a mobile me account and wanted to use this as my main apple ID, including itunes account. When I tried to change it in my itunes account it gave me a warning that the apple ID already existed, of course it does as Its mine! So appear to be unable to change the apple ID on my itunes account? Does anybody have a solution, I could open a new one but would lose my previous history etc..
I have contacted apple itunes support but they directed me back to mobile me support? So unable to resolve...

There is currently no solution that I can find, so far. It's a pain. I have the same problem as you. I had an apple ID that I used with Itunes, warranties etc... When I got my mobile me account it automatically created another ID.
So far there is no way to merge the two IDs.
May I suggest that you contact Apple Customer support and request that Apple make merging of Apple IDs available for those of us who want to do that.

For a standard iTunes account you need a valid payment method even for free apps and app updates.

  • Secure link to itunes store failed computer not connected to internet tried ununininstalling everything to do with itunes no joy also error code coming up E0000225 anybody out there got any ideas

Secure link to itunes store failed, (computer not connected to internet tried uninstalling everything to do with itunes,no joy also errror code E0000225 appearing. Have turned off windows firewall and also my Bullguarg security settings. Can anybody out there please help me thanks.

    Hi,
You could be right that the response to clicking on help is a symptom of an entirely separate issue, but nevertheless the secure link to itunes is definitely failed, and I am unable to log into Itunes on either PC.
I also noticed that even if I click on the link to create a whole new Apple ID, I cannot do that either, presumably because the secure link is not working.
After I noticed that there were weird things happening this morning, I did change my Apple ID password in the hope that this might resolve it, but it seemed to make it worse.  Now, all of my apple devices keep constantly prompting me for the apple ID password, and randomly either accepting it, or telling me it is wrong.  I know the password is correct because I can log onto the apple Manage My Apple ID screens in a web browser with it.
I was starting to think that this is an ISP issue (BT Broadband), but I have not seen anyone else posting with the same issue.  Does Apple use a different security protocol to everyone else?  I'm asking because all other secure services seem to be working fine, but anything related to apple that requires a secure connection or authentication is having issues.
I have also seen reference to making sure that Itunes is listed as an allowed program in Windows Firewall.  I cannot seem to do this because it says that my Windows firewall is being managed by McCafee.  I have checked the settings in McCafee, and it appears to me that Itunes, Bonjour, and many other apple programs have been granted "Full" access.  As said before in any case I have tried temporarily disabling the firewall and even this did not solve the problem.
