    Hi BobRz,
As this is a new issue for me, I believe I had the incorrect approach, maybe you can help me. What I want to do is recover a few files in my desktop, and some information i had on the iCal application and the Mail application as well.As I do not want to do a full migration into this computer (which is not mine) I believe that starting the damaged MBP in Target mode should allow me to search and cop the files I need. But:
    1. Can I open the Ical and mail apps to look for the info I need while reading it as an external HD  ?
    2. Do the target machine (my friends) still need to be updated to ML o Mavs so that it recognizes my MBP as an external drive if starting it in Target mode ? (no migration assistant)
    Thanks.

  • How to reset the BIOS Password ?

Hi there, My uncle just gave me an HP Mini 110 for I can write my lessons on it more easily than on my 17" gaming laptop which is pretty heavy and not really carriable. So the first time I turned on the notebook, it asked me the BIOS Password. At this time my uncle does not remember he set a BIOS Password and we tried multiple passwords but none of them worked. I don't know if it can help but I have this Error Code when I type a wrong password three times in a row : CNU9393LKW I just noticed that this code error is the same as the notebook's serial number. I hope someone will be able to help me.  Have a good evening,

Please try this Password = e9lofofksd Steps to be followed:1. Use the unlock code posted above to enter the BIOS2. Disable all passwords that are enabled3. If asked for current password - type the unlock code4. For new password, just press ENTER key5. Repeat the same for verify password column.6. Then leave the BIOS by saving & exit option to save the changes. Troubleshooting:Incase if the Password doesn’t work please try a Hard Reset as follows.1. Shut down the notebook2. Unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery3. Hold  down the Power button for 30 seconds4. Plug in the Power/AC Adapter (Leave the battery out for the moment) & Start the Notebook5. If you now see a password box, Please type the same password I shared before & press enter Hope this helps, for any further queries reply to the post and feel free to join us again  **Click the White Thumbs Up Button on the right to say Thanks**Make it easier for other people to find solutions by marking a Reply 'Accept as Solution' if it solves your problem. Thank You,K N R KAlthough I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP

  • How to remove the BIOS password on Satellite M40

I'm looking for the the master Bios password or how can I reset the Bios password of Satellite M-40.
I forget my Bios password and I can't used my laptop any more.
    Please I need the help

I've got bad news for you... :( the BIOS password cannot be removed easily.
As far as I know only the ASP (Toshiba authorized service provider) can remove the unknown BIOS password...
Therefore I don't see any other solution as to contact the local ASP and to ask for the password removing.

  • Satellite x200 - how to reset the Bios password

    Hello,
I purchased a used Satellite x200 to replace my old p100.
When I received it, I remarked the bios is locked and the person I got it from is unable to tell me the password, arguing she used the finger imprint only four long.
Is there a way to reset the bios password and how much would it cost?
    Regards

    Hi
The BIOS password can be removed only by an authorized service provider in country where you live.
So get in contact with Toshiba service partner and ask for BIOS password reset.

  • Qosmio X500-11G - How to recover the BIOS?

I have a Qosmio X500-11G and I am thinking of updating the BIOS, the current version is 2.0 and the last one is 2.80. But because of previous heartattacking experiences, I would like first to ensure a way to recover the BIOS in case of a faulse flashing, before proceding.
So, my question is, if the flash of the new BIOS goes wrong, is there any way to recover the old one?
    Thanks in advance.

Well. I encounter some problems with the Qosmio's fanctionability which I have nothing else to do to solve it.
To explain what is going on:
First of all when I am not using the computer but it is powered on, some times I get a blue screen.
Second, under the same condition, I am losing the USB ports (they just switch off).
I have tried to uninstall any program or driver that is implicated with the USB ports, I have tried to use or to let the computer on without any USB device connected on it, I have uninstall and reinstall all the drivers, I have removed competely and freshly install the Windows (WIndows 7 Ultimate 64 ORIGINAL), I have checked for viruses, HDD problems, registry problems, temperature problems.... but the problem still remains.
I assume it is not OS or some program mulfanction cause I may get a blue screen or the USB ports to get powered down even on a freshly installed windows without any program on, or even drivers.
I am sure that it is not some power saving plan problem because the only I use is the screen to be turned off (not the HDD).
So I thought to give a last shot with the BIOS update before I contact any TOSHIBA service.
Anyway, sorry for my long talking and If anybody have any ideas (even crazy) about the problems I face, I would mostly appreciate it.
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to recover the admin password

Enabling the parental control function has changed the admin status to a managed one which was not intended.
How can I recover the admin status? I have tried to follow a few instructions found in the internet that suggested to use the single mode, but I could not find the necessary admin files that needed to be removed so that the Admin Assistant program would start at booting. Instead, the system is not starting at all.
How can I solve this problem?

    Chong007,
boot into Recovery mode by holding down ⌘R as your MacBook Pro starts up. When the OS X Utilities menu appears on your desktop, select Utilities from your menu bar, and from there select Terminal. In Terminal, run the following command:
    resetpassword
Follow its instructions, and your administrative user’s password will be changed accordingly. Exit Terminal, then select Restart from the Apple menu to reboot into normal mode. When the login screen appears, log in as your administrative user, and then reset your administrative user’s password keychain so that it won’t constantly ask you for your administrative user’s password when you need to do administrative tasks.
If you  find that your administrative user is still parentally managed, you could reboot into Single User mode, and enter the following commands there:
    /sbin/mount -uw /
    /bin/rm -f /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
    /sbin/reboot
These should allow you to create a new administrative user, from which you should be able to reset your original administrative user to a non-managed state.

  • How to recover the Outlook password?

I have just started a new job, and am on my own in an office (no IT support).
I am using Outlook 2007, but we can't recieve any emails. The pst file is almost 3GB so i have made another one and am trying to clear old stuff from the old one to the new to free up space. However, it wont let me delete or remove any emails or folders from
the old pst. I can't change the settings because it's password protected, but no one knows what the password is (could have been set by an old employee years ago). Is there a way of recovering the password and accessing the settings of the old pst so i can
    start clearing stuff?

    Hi,
Microsoft has added password protection capability to many features in Office programs to help prevent unauthorized access to important information. If you are unable to access information because you do not know the correct password, please realize that:
Microsoft support professionals cannot assist you, under any circumstances, in the breaking of passwords applied to files and features in Microsoft programs.

  • How to remove the BIOS password on Satellite Pro M10

    Hi
any body can help me to fix my problem with my Satellite Pro M10?
    Need power on password.
I try to entering the old password but it can't accept.
I was trying to used dongle with DB25 port, but it can't successfully.
I have removed the BIOS battery; not my problem out
There is any body can help me?
    thank's
    Irwan

    Hello Irwan
As you can see there is no much to do and only service can help you. I am really wondering that people here believe that removing CMOS battery will help. It is not the desktop and some things on laptops work a little bit different.
One more thing for you and all people who want to remove BIOS alone. BIOS password removing procedure is not the same for all notebook models. For some models it is so complicated and works similar like on mobile phone. To delete existing password you need to enter special generated code using special tools.
Please contact nearest service provider in your country and they will help you. If the notebook is your private property and if you are owner it should not be the problem.

  • Satellite M - How to remove the BIOS password?

    Hello.
I forgot my BIOS password. I tried doing everything from introducing some default passwords like 'toshiba' 'phoenix' holding the left shift key while booting to disassembling my laptop and finding my BIOS battery to remove it.
The problem is that my battery is glued on my motherboard and I don't know what to do. I heard that there should be some jumpers near the battery that could help me but I cannont find them.
I am desperated ....what can I do?
    please help me
    thank you.

Default password doesnt exist and there is no magic default password that can remove existing one. Removing BIOS battery will not help at all. On notebooks it will not work so forget it.
BIOS password can be removed by ASP only so contact nearest ASP and they will help you.
Theory with jumper is also not correct because BIOS removal procedure is not the same for every notebook model.
Sorry but ASP is your only way to remove BIOS password.

We had an instance of ANM running on our environment and was not used on a day to day basis. Forgot the admin password of the Appnication Node Manager, could somebody how to recover the admin password for this.
    Regards

    Hi Soban,
The procedure depends on whether you are using the ANM virtual appliance or the RedHat installation. See the links below:

  • How to push a BIOS password

    Hello,
I've build a Task Sequence that includes a reboot and I wondered if it is possible to 'bypass' or include the BIOS password in any way in the Task Sequence so the computer does not get 'stuck' while rebooting.
The (Dell) laptops in our company all have the same "Admin Password" and an individual "System Password". This System Password is set by the end-user himself.
With Dell laptops (don't know about others), if you don't know the System Password, you can continue the boot sequence by entering the Admin Password. So only 1 password is actually needed..
    I looked into the
Dell OpenManage Client Intrumentation (OMCI) 8.2 application and figured out how to erase the BIOS passwords with PowerShell with this command:
    (gwmi DCMI_BIOSService -Namespace root\dcim\sysman).SetBIOSAttributes($null,$null,"AdminPwd","","ourpassword",$null)
Though I prefer NOT to erase the Admin and System Password of about 1000 users just to be able to continue an installation ;)
Is there any other way to solve this problem?

If these are Dell Enterprise computers, you can use the
    cctk.exe tool from the
    Dell Client Configuration Toolkit.
Create an SCCM package from this tool, and you can use it in your Task Sequence:
    - Before reboot: Remove password. --> cctk.exe --setuppwd= --valsetuppwd=<currentPassword>
    - After reboot: Set password. --> cctk --setuppwd=<password>
