Hi all, i got a new iPhone, i had tried to restore data from the old iPhone to the new one. Unfortunately, before restoring the data i forgot to copy some importance documents and pictures from the new one. so after restoring, those documents are lost, anyone know how to recover those data? thank you very much

If those documents are not contained in any backup, then you cannot recover them.

Using workspace manager I am not able to track the old data of a column which is dropped.

No way even in 10g. You should build another DB and import your exported data.
then you can get data from this new DB.

How to recover the old mysql database?

Hi. I did un upgrade of my Leopard to Snow (not Server). I've made a "Carbon Copy" and erase all my HD to restart everything, as the old Lopard was allready "fat", malfunction, etc..
I've forgot of MySQL! I'm re-installing but I'll have to export all databases I got online back to my machine (the oposite way). This is not really good because my local versions got users for testing only, less size for testing purposes... anyway, will be good take back my databases!
I boot from the copy but Apache didn't start up, don't know why, this will be a hard job (couldn't be easy uhn, export all by phpmysql).
I think the easy way is found the archives (the files that containing the databases) and copy back to newer installation...
Any ideas?

When you boot from cloned backup, does mysql work in terminal?
So open terminal, type mysql
If yes then you can do a mysql dump to file then install on new setup.

This way you should not need apache running to move the sql files across.

How to recover backup user data after a restore

I had a disk fail and could not boot. while in the restore software I was able to backup user data to a USB drive. Now that I've restored from the restore partition and got it running windows 7 home again, I don;t see how to recover the user data made with the low level software. Windows back up doesn't seem to recognise it and I can't find an HP utility to get at it.
A program saved with the .wim back up files brought up an HP restore manager application that then copied the filed to my new C drive but how do I actually get it to recover them into their appropriate places and recreate users etc.
Or, should I just consider myself lucky to still have copies of the files at all? I'll not be real happy about that because it will be a tom of work to recreate everything manually even with the files.
I'm hoping someone out there has a better solution for recovering all my user data into my new restored initial image.

Hello dcbrower, You may be able to use the program Universal Extractor to extract the files in the .wim file.
This is a Free program that can be found at this Link. .
Just extract the files in the wim file to a location you would like.

Neither my local computer consultant nor I have been ableto change any of the settings in Time Machine to correct this problem. How much data is being backed-up from each Mac? (see what's shown for Estimated size of full backup under the exclusions box in Time Machine Prefs > Options).
Is there any other data on your Time Capsule, besides the backups?
Most likely, there just isn't room. Time Machine may be trying to do a very large (or full) backup of one or both Macs, and can't. Since it won't ever delete the most recent backup, there has to be enough room for one full backup plus whatever it's trying to back up now, plus 20% (for workspace).

Thanks @ KiltedTim, but losing "only" any data is really not acceptable and, in this case, the phone had not been backed up, but thanks for taking the time. Also, yes, fungible means what I think it means. An iphone is a completely substitutible commodity, unlike my data, so instructions that inform me as to how to fix a phone I could replace for a small sum of money while failing to address the more important issue of the data are almost useless - they potentially save me the $99 it would cost me to replace the phone if I were so inclined to trust another apple product. Not worth the hour it took to find them or the 35 minutes on the phone to confirm my suspicions about the data.

I get a disk read error when I try to boot my Sat Pro M30 running XP Pro, just after the In Touch with Toshiba screen.
Using the Revovery DVD that came with the computer when purchased and entering advanced mode I'm trying to use check local Image File. It doesn't seem to find any Image file. Is it possible to recover or rebuild image file?

cabinette ? Do you mean "USB Hard Disk Caddy" ?
To recover your data, you can connect the HDD using a USB Adapter to another PC running XP or Vista. The drive should show up as a Drive letter (such as E: Drive), and you will be able to copy the files.

If you have no backup your only option is to perform incomplete recovery (point-in-time recovery) to the time just before the drop, export the table and then restore the database (for example, from a cold backup taken just before the incomplete recovery,) and import the table. This obviously requires a full backup
taken before the drop which you don't seem to have, so the answer is "regrettably no."
If you have a backup;
Take backup of ur current db, apply previous day backup, do point in time recovery to get table back,export table, shutdown and apply latest backup, import table back

HI,
To recover the lost data, you will have to first delete and fill the set-up tables.
On the BW side after the set-up tables are filled, do an init w/o data transfer to set the delta. Next extract data from set-up tables using Full-repair request. This will help you get the data which was lost.
After the full repair, you can continue extracting delta in the normal way since the new pointer will be set when you did the init.

Time Machine is nice, but you have very little in terms of ability to verify that your data is all backed up. I find Time Machine is better for the occasional recovery of previously written data at specific times. A good backup solution that survives an erase and install (there is no clean install in Mac OS X), is a clone, and preferably TWO clones. See my FAQ*:

Time Machine can work as good as a clone, and in fact I once had to rely on it because my hard drive died. Thankfully it did recover everything. But I had my clone just in case it didn't work. Now I feel more comfortable since clones allow you to boot themselves, and thus prove all the important system information got saved, and not just the user data.
Clones are also easier to import with the migration assistant.
