I have a problem, recovery process crashed almost at the end and when i restart computer i cannot get to the windows (missing files). I installed windows but i didn't have any toshiba utilities for recovery (only those files on 2nd partitions: hdd recovery). And here is my question, how can i recover my system from that files without any toshiba utilities? Can i download them or something? What can i do to restore it, because toshiba recovery media is, i think not available. And if it's not so how can i do? My warranty for laptop expired.

You should order the recovery discs from Toshiba.

After you have restored the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents, you should have the recovery utilities and partitions. See the A350 User's Manual (attached) for how to recover after that.

I'm sorry to hear you no longer have access to your pictures ItzKB11. I know they're important, we'll do everything we can to help. However, since you did not back them up to any source and the screen does not work, we only have a couple options. Try using the USB cable to tranfer to PC:
From the Device to a Computer
• Launch Windows Explorer.
Using the computer keyboard, press Windows E ( E) keys.
Alternatively, right-click Start then click Explore.
• Using Windows Explorer, navigate to:
• SCH-I545 > Phone
• Utilize the computer to copy video/picture files from the following folders into the desired folder(s) on the computer's hard drive:
• DCIM
• Download
• Movies
• Pictures
• Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.

If you are using Photo Stream on your computer (Mac - logged into iCloud & Phtot Stream on / PC - installed iCloud Control Panel logged in and have Photo Stream turned on) then the photos you deleted should be safe and sound on your computer. Otherwise you may be out of luck.

I believe you will find you can again sync Photos if you delete the "iPod Photo Cache", but predict that any subsequent attempt will fail. In my case, the enxt sync removes all the photos again - I've seen other reports of error messages upon sync. Mine just fails silently. :-)

please, help me to recover my system.
I have a new HDD and trying to recover my system from "Lenovo_recovery" partition. Partition has been copped from old HDD.
1) I have chcked there are all files in "Lenovo_Recovery".
2) installed trial version windows 7
3) installed "Recue and Recovery" but id does not offer anything
so, I am not able to recover from here.
4) I have checked also to recover from blue button "ThinkVantage" but the same is there, it open dialog and say somthing like "Revocery functionality have been removed ... "
So how can I have my system? I still using trial one.
Node: my old system is windows 7 pro, but current one is windows 7 ultimat.

When you open rescue and recovery there should be a window that opens that has menu options at the top of the window. Backup, restore, advanced, and help. Does this window open? If it does, hold your cursor over restore and there should be 2 options, restore your system and rescue files. Choose restore your system. The next window that shows up will show more options. You want to choose the top one, restore my entire hard drive. Unless you want to restore from a backup. Is your backup in E:?
I am a little confused. Are you trying to restore windowsw 7 pro or windows 7 ultimate? What was on the old hard drive and what version was the trial version. Is C: drive windows 7 pro. Where is ultimate?

How to recover data from a hard drive with bad blocks?

An external hard drive, 4TB Iomega...connected via eSATA cable...had a power outage and the drive won't be read by OSX now. (Yes, it was on a surge protector and no I did not have a backup. I was actually preparing for the process of creating a backup when the power went out!) Anyway, I have tried using Data Rescue 3 and DiskDrill to try and recover data from the drive. I can recover the first 1/3 of the drive, but it ejects when either app tries to access the bad block. Can anyone tell me how/what software to use to recover the data? I know there are programs that will avoid the bad block but I've only found them for Windows. Are there any that will do such a thing in Lion? Any help will be appreciated...and no, I can not afford a data recovery service. Trying to do this on my own.

Basics of File Recovery
If you stop using the drive it's possible to recover deleted files that have not been overwritten by using recovery software such as Data Rescue II, File Salvage or TechTool Pro. Each of the preceding come on bootable CDs to enable usage without risk of writing more data to the hard drive. Two free alternatives are Disk Drill and TestDisk. Look for them and demos at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads.
The longer the hard drive remains in use and data are written to it, the greater the risk your deleted files will be overwritten.

Need to recover data from Bootcamp partition

I recently sent my Macbook Pro in for repairs after a crash (Windows partition not recognized, after working well for a year), and they replaced the logic board and HD, the former of which was dead and the latter of which "wasn't running very well". I got the HD back, and have been trying to get data off it; the problem is, most of my data was stored on my Windows bootcamp partition, which I can now see - but not access.
This is the info I got off it, since Disk Utility still recognizes it.

Capacity : 116.7 GB (125,294,346,240 Bytes)
Format : Windows NT File System (NTFS)
Available : 26.6 GB (28,521,467,904 Bytes)

I feel as if there should be a way to recover data from the drive, since it obviously still...exists and is recognized. But using "verify" in Disk Utility returns a "verify volume failed: invalid request", and I can't otherwise see any files, since there's apparently 0 folders.
Does anyone have any recommendations for data recovery software that works in Mac? I can't just run Windows from an external drive because the HD with the Bootcamp on it is Mac-formatted.

Probably the best option for attempting to recover files is attaching the hdd to a> USB Adapter and plug it into a usb port an another machine. If the hdd has not failed it should show up as a drive and can be browsed on the other machine to copy files over.

How to start up from 2nd mac? Need to un-trash deleted files...

I accidentally put in trash and emptied a folder with weeks of work and I have to do EVERYTHING POSSIBLE get it back. The Mac shops here in L.A. are all minimum 5-7 days repair turnaround - that means I can't work for five days and they may not be able salvage anything anyway.
Immediately upon realizing what I did, I stopped writing anything to the harddrive - so basically I can't use my computer.
I've found Norton UnErase is useless unless you had FileSaver previously installed and running regular backups.
I don't know anyone local with a Mac but I could take my G3 to work, try to start it with my G5 there and run a shareware app called DataRecoveryTool 2.0.3. So far installing DRT on one of my 3 partitions hasn't worked - it doesn't recognize or list any volumes to recover..
Trouble is, I don't know how to start one Mac from another. I just need an ethernet cable and some keyboard commands, right? I've seen it done long ago.. My cousin in Pasadena has a Powerbook - can I do it with that? What do I need to bring with me?
Would appreciate all help that would lead me towards re-gaining my data. If you're in LA (SFValley) and have experience - I will pay you to help me! TIA

Firewire Target Disk Mode could achieve what you want - except that the B&W G3 models can not be the Target machine in such a setup, although they can be the Host machine.
Data Recovery may work only on a disk basis, not a volume basis. Here's a couple of other utilities to try, ones designed to recover data from a mechanically sound drive which refuses to mount.
Data Rescue
Virtual Lab
You may need to pull the drive from the B&W G3 and place it in a multi-drive capable Mac, then use a data recovery utility on the B&W's drive while that other Mac is booted to its normal drive.
