How to reduce file size in flash gallery and add description

How can i reduce physical filesize of my photo's within the flash web gallery. When i generate the flash gallery it takes the original filesizes to publisch, some jpg files are verry large, not mentioning my raw files.
How can i reduce the filesize? lets say 600x400 at 96 dpi in stead of 6144x4113 at 300 dpi.
Or do i first have to reduce the filesize in a automated script within photoshop?
Also i want to add the description into the flash document.
How can this be done?
Help is much appreciated...

Use the Image Processor script.
In Bridge it is: Tools > Photoshop > Image Processor ...
The interface is self-explanatory.
Where do you want the description and what do you want?

  • How to reduce file size

    I have one page file. There is no image, just text. Now the file size is 3MB.
    I cannot reduce size anyhow. I have moved the tick from embed fonts at save option tab but file size is same.
    How I can reduce file size?
    In addition this file is used so many times.

    Probably not.
    If you don't see the Master Page tab in Designer, then the way in which you imported the existing PD means that the page was brought in as artwork. I don't think you will be able to reduce it now.
    One potential option would be to:
    Go back to the existing PDF and export the page as an image. You can process the image in Photoshop (or similar) and get the image file size down.
    Then start a new form in Designer and on the Master Page drag on an Image object and associate it with the image in step 1.
    Save this new form and see is the file size acceptable. If so, proceed.
    Now open your existing 3Mb form in Designer and copy all of the objects.
    Paste these into your new form.
    You may need to move things around a bit.
    Hope that helps,
    Niall

  • How to reduce file size in Acrobat XI?

    How can I to reduce the file size is Acrobat XI Pro? Up until v.9, it was just a matter of opening the pulldown menu Documents > Reduce File Size. and then some more. How's that done in the newer versions of Acrobat?
    This was simple and easy:

    Works like a charm... I have a pdf file of a A1 size drawing that went from 6,7 to 1.7 Mb. The rendered image became slightly grainier (hardly noticable), but the text recognition stayed intact. Magnificent!
    FYI I've tested this file size reduction in three different runs:
    Save As Other... > Reduced Size PDF... (Acrobat 1.4 comp.) 1,69 Mb
    Save As Other... > Reduced Size PDF... (Acrobat 1.6 comp.) 1,75 Mb
    Save As Other... > Optimized PDF... 1,73 Mb

  • How to reduce file size when using batch processing?

    I use File > Process Multiple Files to batch process photos to a smaller file size along with adding my watermark.  I've played with many different settings and no matter what I choose, I can't get my average file size to be less than about 200k.  However, when I've exported the same photos using iPhoto, I can get the file size to about half of that with no difference (to my naked eye at least) in quality.
    I definitely want to keep the height at 768 pixels so that needs to stay constant.
    My current settings in batch processing (average file size = 200 kb)
    Resize images with a height constraint of 768 pixels at 150dpi
    What I've tried:
    Resize at 72dpi (reduced file size by about 5kb)
    convert file to JPEG low quality (reduced file size by about 10kb)
    convert file to JPEG medium quality (not much difference in file size)
    I'm using PSE 10 on a Mac running Lion.
    Thank you in advance for your help!

    You should go with default settings of Optimizer.
    One difference between default settings of Optimizer and Reduce file size is that Optimizer does not guarantee a reduction in file size (if your Optimizer settings lead to an increase in file size, that's what you will get).
    With Acrobat 9, the default setting in Optimizer has an additional setting which would not do an image optimization that results in increase of file size. In that sense it would in most cases give a smaller file.

  • Captivate 6 - how to reduce file size

    We are having problems reducing our Captivate 6 file (around 198 slides) from around 93MB.  It needs to be a lot smaller (i.e. 30MB) in order to publish it as SWF file on our company website.  Currently we can only publish some of the file.
    It does have lots of widgets, photos & (non-linked) powerpoint imports.
    I've googled this & read numerous forums & have tried everything - to no avail.
    This is what I've tried so far:
    1. Compacting the (non-linked) powerpoint imports.
    2. Deleting unused library files.
    3. Setting quality as 'Low'.
    4. Reducing audio setting (there is no audio function anyway).
    5. Clearing cache.
    6. Cutting & pasting content into new blank file.
    7. 'Publish Adobe connect metadata' unchecked (in publish settings).
    Any ideas welcome ;o)

    You should also look into the size of your images in your content.  They may be far larger than they need to be.
    Try going to each slide, selecting an image and clicking the option in Properties tab to Reset to Original Size.  If you find images are then resizing huge, you need to go back to your source images, open them in a graphics editor (e.g. Photoshop or similar) resize the physical dimensions of the image so that they match the pixel dimensions required for your Captivate slide, create a version of the image at that size, and import THAT image into Captivate for your slide.
    If your images are all way huge, then this can significantly bloat the published file size.
    Finally, if there are any video files in your project, this will also likely blow the filesize out.

  • How to reduce file size in Illustrator CS4?

    Hi!
    I'm having troubles with the size of my files in Illustrator CS4, My files always ends with sizes near 100mb!
    I made some tests:
    Create a new doc (7x5 cm), type some text, save: 1mb
    Place an image (PSD file: 12mb), save without embedding: 8mb
    Embedd the psd file, save: 16mb
    Delete psd image, and place JPG (2,5mb), save without embedding: 8mb
    Embedd the JPG, save: 15mb
    I0m using the save with compression option.
    If I uncheck the compatibility with PDF, then my file goes from 15mb to 8mb, but it's too big anyway, my image is only 2,5mb!
    I don't know, I think I'm doing something wrong or illustrator is the most inefficient program that I ever use.
    Why if my file without the image is only 1mb, and my JPG only 2,5mb, when I put them together the .AI goes to 15mb???? that's 500% the real size of my files!
    Please I need help with this.
    THANKS !

    Think about it for a minute and you might find the answer yourself?  Ok perhaps it has something to do with the fact that a 2.5 mb jpeg, which is a compressed file size, is something like a 15 MB uncompressed file. I know but it is a compressed file but Illustrator has to uncompress it and make it pdf compatible turn off the pdf compatible option and see what happens.
    I just tried it myself and sure enough a 4.1 jpeg place in AI makes the file 13.1 MB the uncompressed image is 15.8 MB
    without pdf compatible the 4.1 mb file in AI is now a 1.1 MB file.
    It makes sense to me perhaps if you think about it it might make sense to you as well.

  • How to increase page size in existing document and add margins uniformly.

    I have a long document that I must print out to PDF, but I must now increase the page size. I do not want to change the text at all; just increase the sizes of the margins. When I increase the page size , my text frame remains the original distance from left-hand margin. In other words, the top and bottom margins increase evenly, but for the left and right margins, only the right margin grows. This leaves the text frame shoved over to the left-hand side of the page (or towards the binding in a two-page spread).
    I would like for the page size to increase so that all margins increase in a uniform manner, that is, so that the text frame remains centered in the page, both horizontally and vertically. At present it is centered only vertically.
    Thanks very much.

    A word of caution is in order regarding changing from facing to non-facing and back again. If you have overridden master page items, you'll get a second, non-overridden copy on all the even-number pages when that half of the master page is re-applied. This applies to master text frames which override automatically when text flows into them as well as to objects you manually override. I think you'll find this particular technique also only works for master text frames, whereas the Layout Adjustment should work in all situations where frames snap to guides.

  • How do I reduce file size in Adobe 9.4.5?

    Hello,
    I'm using Adobe 9.4.5. I can't figure out how to reduce file size. My 'save as' options don't offer this because they only offer 'save a copy' or 'save as text'. And I don't have the 'Document/reduce file size' option. It's simply not there.
    I'd appreciate any advice on how to do this.
    Many thanks.

    You can also try Document>Reduce File Size. The PDF Optimizer has more features, but Reduce File Size my meet your need. I find different results with both methods, making me sometimes wonder which is the best approach.

  • Reducing file sizes going from LR to PS

    Hi - just wondering how to reduce file sizes when I edit from LR4 into PS 5.
    I was working on some jpg files and they are around 5mb but when I open them in PS it shows them to be 50mb. ... Just wondering why and how to open them so they are not 10 times bigger?
    Thanks
    Rob

    What Dde said. I'll add that if you have a new camera supported in ACR 7 or 8 that isn't in ACR 6, I think "Open Anyway" will open Photoshop if it's not already open, but then might not do anything after that becaus PS/ACR can't open the raw file. Figured that out after a lot of confusion about why Photoshop just sat there.

  • Adding Click Tags to Flash and also reducing file size?

    Hi,
    I was wondering if anyone knows how to add a Click Tag to a Flash movie?
    I have the file finished but they require Click Tags added to each file.
    Also my file is currently around 100kb and they need it under 30kb (last time they got someone to reduce my file to 30kb from 110kb), so Im sure this can be done but not quite sure how. I am using Flash CS4,
    thanks,
    Paul

    I would recommend going to 15 if you are going to play with frame rate.
    If you want to know how data rate effects the size
    double-click the setting for your movie
    look at the inspector
    Under the summary tab compressor show you how big the file size will be at _ data rate etc.
    Changing the data rate will be reflected here.
    When a client doesn't want a file over 15mb I use this tool to know and understand how data rate and other settings effect the overall file. This works for h.264 but may not be the same for every setting.

  • Trying to reduce file size of my opening page in a flash site

    I'm using the Flash CS4 IDE, and the first page of my site takes a lot longer to load than I want it to.  So I wanted to go through the varied images / symbols / movie clips / sounds and so on to see where all the memory is being chewed up.
    When I go into my library, however, I can see the Name, LInkage, usecound and Type of my elements, but no mention of file size and I can't seem to find any right click menu that lets me add file size to the list of details being displayed.
    Is there a way to make it show file size?  Or some workaround?
    And are there any best practices to reduce file size aside from using symbols for anything that's used more than once and reducing image and sound quality?
    Thanks

    I was actually using the term pretty loosely.  I'm building a Gaia site which works by loading an Index page, then a Nav (navigation) page on top of that, and then lets you load and unload pages as necessary on top of those.
    Since the Nav page never gets unloaded it's a good place to park certain content.  So it's actually my Nav page that's gotten too bloated.  And the coding is handled through a separate Nav.as file (so it's not the first frame of my nav.swf, it's all the varied movie clips I had to incorporate into my Nav.fla
    I'm just looking for a way to identify which MovieClips &  sound files (only have a couple of short ones) and other assets are taking up the most memory so I can see if I can cut those down.
    Also, do unused symbols use up memory or is it only the assets you actually end up adding that count toward file size?
    Thanks

  • I have tried to use File - Export to reduce the size of my pics to send via email and all I get is a blank pic.  How do I reduce the size of the photo and still have the photo?

    I have tried to use File > Export to a folder on my Desk top to reduce the size of my photos and all I get is a blank, grey screen.  How do I reduce the size of my pics so I can email them?

    Where are you getting this screen?  In iPhoto after selecting the File ➙ Export menu option? If that's the case try this:
    1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your Home/() Library/Preferences folder.
    2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
    3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
    NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences..
    You can resize photos outside of iPhoto with 3rd party applications like Resize!.
    Click to view full size
    With it you can change both the pixel size and file size of the photo to the size that suits your needs.  For other such apps go to MacUpDate.com and search for "image resize" to get a list of potential candidates.

  • How to reduce the size of the pdf scanned file ?

    Hi,
    I have canon PIXMA MG2120. I am trying to scan the documents but the size is to big to attach to email. Any Idea how to reduce the size of the PDF file?

    Hello
     For pdf size,you can compress the pdf size if you want to reduce the size of the pdf files.
    Here is the code to do it:
    using System.IO;
    using System.Drawing.Printing;
    using RasterEdge.Imaging;
    using RasterEdge.Imaging.Codec.Compression;
    using RasterEdge.Imaging.PDF;
    DocumentCompression.infile(@"C:\1.pdf");
    DocumentCompression.Outfile(@"C:\2.pdf");
    DocumentEncoder = DocumentEncoder.Group3Encoding
    RasterEdgeImaging Document = new RasterEdgeDocumentg();
    Image. DocumentCompression(@"C:\1.pdf", "C:\2.pdf", DocumentEncoder DocumentEncoder.Group3Encoding);
