How to reduce from 5º to 8ºC CPU Temp on your MSI K7N2 Delta!
I've installed this tweak last week and it is working very stable since then. It decreased my Idle CPU Temp from 42º to 36º and Overload from 54º to 48º:
Just go: http://forums.pcper.com/showindex.php?t=280137
AMD ATHLON XP 2600+ 12.5x333mhz 1.65V ~OC 11.5x400mhz 1.55V
Thermaltake Volcano 9
MSI K7N2 Delta L
MSI GF4 4200-8X graphics Card
160GB Maxtor HDD 7200rpm
768MB Samsung DDR3200
LG 48x24x48x/16x CDROM/DVD Reader
Dual Fan 450W Troni Power Suppy
It seems that the link to the tweak is broken, I've found another one:
http://ftp://ftp.vector.co.jp/pack/win95/hardware/other/wpcre14.exe
This is what the article say:
Just tried it for the first time..It works GREAT
My idle temps are now 26c, down from 34c. That's 8C. I can have Winamp, IE and messenger running and CPU temps don't get by 29c. Once i fire up, SETI though...I get back my regular Load temps at 39c.
Some of you probably know about it, already....here's for thousand others that don't.
This tweak can drop your idle CPU temps down as much as 8c, maybe more...depending on your system.
First thing you need to do is download WPCRSET & WPCREDIT.
They're both in this zip.
- Extract to a directory.
- Run "INSTDD.EXE". Click Install. When done, you will be prompted for restart. Hit Yes! -
- Then go back to the folder with extracted files, and open "WPCREDIT.EXE"
- A ms-dos like window will pop-up. Move the blinking block (with arrow keys or your mouse pointer) until it says Offset 6F at the buttom. Now, click on the two digit number where it says "HEX", and change it to 1F (The Hex for Offset 6F would have previously been 9F, 8F or something else). Hit Set.
Your idle temps should now start falling.
You would have to do this hack/tweak everytime you rebooted your computer if it wasn't for WPCRSET.
- Go to directory and run "WPCRSET.EXE"
- Look at the top of the window: Enable select "Start" and make sure Device is on "enable"
- Then click Add. Enter 6F for the register, and 1F for the data
- Click Ok and you'll be prompted to restart.
Once, you rebooted, open WCREDIT again and see if the 6F register is still on 1F. If it is, then that's it..You're all done.
Here's a Screenie of how it should be:
This only brings your idle temps down, and not your full load temps
It should work for all nforce2s, and use at your own risk
Check your nf7-s for CPU Disconnect. Most other nforce2 motherboards do not have this feature in the bios...so this tweak might prove useful.
READ THE WHOLE THREAD BEFORE TRYING THIS!
If you run a Distributed Computing project...then obviously this would be of no use to you

It activates the C1 (and maybe the C2) function Athlon XP CPU's support. Most mainboard brands have this feature as an option in the bios you can enable and disable. I just found out that EPoX doesn't have that feature. So what you're doing is just using a direct reg tweak to activate it. It's not like you're forcing anything, the Athlon XP chips are made to support this feature so it shouldn't do any damage.
When the CPU is idle the mainboard will send a command to the CPU that will cause a part of the CPU to be deactivated (and therefore not produce any heat). That's why this tweak only works on the idle temp and doesn't change anything on the load temp. Ofcourse as soon as the CPU power is needed the deactivated part will become active again, so it should have any influence on the performance of the CPU.
Strangely, my full load temp has decreased 6º C degrees too.

If I put an item in clippings that I reduced from a larger article, how do I print just the seperate clippings excerpt?
Hi Mark,
I think one thing you may missing is an understanding of the purpose and operation of the mail merge process.
Mail merge is used to 'personalize' a preset document using information from the records of a database. Any content that will vary from copy to copy of the document must be imported from the database. Every item that is specific to the copy being sent to a specific individual must be included in the row of the table containing the record for that individual.
For invoices, unless you are sending an invoice for the same item(s) at the same price(s), you'll need to either include the items and prices in the database and merge them into the invoices, or use the merge document to create a document containing an empty invoice for each customer, containing only the customer identification information, and the company information (taken from the card marked "My Card" or "Me"), then fill in each invoice manually.
The Pages '09 template named "Invoice" might word with the second approach, depending what type of document the merge to file option produces. If it's a Pages document, the table, containing the invoice data, will likely be useable; if it's a pdf document, the table may be editable (or not), but will lose its ability to calculate the tax amounts and totals.
To produce an individual invoice from this template:
Open the template.
Drag the recipient's card from Contacts/Address Book and drop it on one of the fields in the first block of address text.
Enter the project information in the second block of text.
Check the Company block in the left margin for correctness.
Enter the Invoice items and quantities in the table.
Print (or Print to PDF) the document and mail it.

How to reduce PSAPSR3 from DB02
Hi All,
Please find the screenshot of DB02. I want to reduce the Table space of PSAPSR3 from the below screen. we are holding only 15 days of data in the PSA. Can you pls tell me what is this table "PSAPSR3" related to.
Please guide how to reduce the total used percentage (84%) from the screenshot.
Thanks.Hi,
You can reduce the table space for PSAPSR3 by deleting data requests from PSA.
As you have mentioned that you are keeping 15 days of data in PSA. But its better if you rethink on this strategy. For the PSA tables having high size with delta datasource, you can to keep the data requests from last 7 days or so to keep the size in control.
Also for full loads, you can keep only last successful request. And before loading new data request you can delete the last request.
Hope this will help you to reduce the table space for PSAPSR3.

How to reduce configuration cache file Quota size located in ( C:\Windows\ccmcache ) for all client from SCCM 2012 server
Thanks in Advance
NTRaoHi,
There are numerous ways to change the cache size.
You could deploy a vbscript to a collection of the devices.
On Error Resume Next
Dim UIResManager
Dim Cache
Dim CacheSize
CacheSize=20000
Set UIResManager = createobject("UIResource.UIResourceMgr")
Set Cache=UIResManager.GetCacheInfo()
Cache.TotalSize=CacheSize
Or you could use a configuration item.
http://blog.coretech.dk/heh/configuration-items-and-baselines-using-scripts-powershell-example/
You can also use the right click tools by Now Micro on a collection, if all the servers are on this would be the easiest / quickest way.

How to reduce the pdf version & how to remove all the pre-delivered field from a pdf file.
Hi Team,
1) Please help me to reduce the version of a pdf file which is v1.7 as my BI Publisher support only pdf version upto Version1.5.
2)This pdf file 1.7 contains some pre-delivered fields, i want to remove all the pre-delivered fields. Please suggest.
PFA link:-
http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-539.pdf
Please guide to remove the pre-delivered fields from this pdf & how to reduce the version.A lot depends on what you want to do with the file. The encryption has limited most options on the form. If you are wanting to simply post a view of the form, then you might try a screen capture. Of course there is always the question of what you want to do with the form and any legal aspects related to that use. Other than answering potential legal questions of your use, we might be able to help more if we were aware of the desired use. At the moment, the screen capture is my only suggestion. There may be other work arounds, but probably not appropriate for discussion on this forum.
If you are wanting the form for publication as an example in some document, I would strongly suggest you contact the gov't agency and discuss your intent and try to get a version you can use with their approval. Overall, that is the cleanest way to do whatever you are after for a legit purpose. Even a graphic version should have the permission of the government agency. -
Does anyone know how to upgrade from 4.1 to 4.3 ios?
After being tricked by the fast talking smoothy helper at Apple store in London to buy a micky mouse ipodtouch (fourth generation) two years ago I am stuck at ios 4.1 and find that all the useful applications need 4.3 or more. So I went to the trouble of letting the macbook stay open all night to load yet another micky mouse version of itunes so that I can upload the more recent version of ios and now (since I don't want to continually have a lot of rubbish on the ipod I disabled the automatic sync "feature") I can only go round in circles whereby the only real possibility left is to turn on the autosync feature. I have had messages like "your ipod will be completely erased if you proceed" and "do you wish to fiddle another few days with this nasty system, then click on continue" and so on.
Does anyone know how to upgrade from 4.1 to 4.3 ios?
That would be great (maybe) because otherwise I will toss this children's waste product on the floor and set up my HD camera to show how easy it is to smash the brightly lit screen into pieces and relieve myself of trash which Apple sell to unsuspecting gullible humans who believe that they are not being tricked by such a nice company who produce shiny colourful gadgets which only work for a month or two before becoming 100% obsolete.
Great to hear from those who have wasted many months of their lives and discovered how to trick the system into doing a simple update operation!
I am insulted by the tricks that fool many and that apple pretend are "necessary".
Germany 2014 01 11 16 19 27Illaass, your help is amazing - miles better than anyone working in this part of the world who is paid - and you do this for free - because, like me, you LOVE to help people!
BUT, as I said above -
1. There is nothing "mobile" under Application Support. For whatever reason.
2. Devious - that Apple has set up iPod to not show in Finder - a red herring and sign that corruption is visible.
I will try iFunBox next and it sounds like they provide this for the more serious users but use a trivial name to excuse further strangeness.
After
There are purchased items on the iPod that have not been transferred to your iTunes library. You should transfer these items to your iTunes library before updating the iPod. Are you sure you want to continue?
I get
Updating to iOS 6.1.5 will backup and restore the apps, media, contacts, notes, and settings on your iPod touch.
Please do not interrupt the update, which may take an hour or longer to complete.
Cancel Update
And then I wait for hours to arrive at the above mentioned
Backing up iPod \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Stop
and then as above
An error occurred while backing up this iPod (0xE8000084). Would you like to continue to update this iPod?
Continuing will result in the loss of all contents on this iPod.

and so we are back to where we always land - the user is left in the Apple designed sabotage situation which annoyed me so much initially.
"Most users will give up at this point, loose all the data or buy yet another disposable from Apple. Less than 3% will work their way to this site and 90% of the 3% will leave the iPod to gather dust in the hope that someone will help later. In all, Apple gains, since people blame themselves for "mistakes" which Apple programmed to throw out users who do not take the 100% Apple path. But Illaass and myself still play the game of "trying to fix" something which Apple don't allow." was the comment which I was going to write but decided against it, adding no value to the conversation other than explaining one reality which we all hoped could be wrong but which I thought to have a very high chance of being closer to the truth.
Apologies for my doubts towards the integrity of the creators.

The iPod could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (9).
More Infomation OK
So it looks like I may have lost all the important pictures documenting various items all around Europe for the last two years - luckily I moved a year ago from the iPod toy camera to a Panasonic real camera with SD card which can be read on any computer. Hence important items lost may only be older than one year rather than the most recent items.
Glad I have changed to Panasonic since they don't try to screw you when you don't use their system.
I will now check the "more information" rather than just click on "OK" since I am of the 3% who "don't accept cr*p".
For full information I quote that the iPod now shows a screen with a USB ikon, an upward arrow and an iTunes ikon (all micky mouse language which reduces transparant, clear and technical discussion and thus covers the trail of "where things went wrong").
The iPod is still attached to the computer but the above MMTALK may mean that the iPod should be attached via USB to the mac. I record much of this activity on Video to be able to later prove EXACTLY what occurred, rather than having to rely on screenshots and opinions. We are after all dealing with important items which may later be required to be shown in court, as evidence against fraudsters.
The "More Information" link leads to
Resolve iOS update and restore errors in iTunes
which I have already seen before.
I clicked on OK and a help screen (unnamed as ever because no one like myself demanded that the help screens be named for later discussion) arrived:
You can help Apple improve its products a
while copying this into this message the computer began to start up Final Cut Pro and this was cancelled, then iTunes came up with a message:
iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes.
ok
And I presume the earlier message about helping Apple is gone because I keep getting interrupted by this message called
iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes.
ok
it has appeared now at least six times interferring with anything else I do. Each time I try to write, this message appears and blocks, but only when I write. I tried to do a carriage return and the message appeared taking the carriage return as acceptance of the OK in the
iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes.
ok
Message. But since I have not removed the USB and keep returning to this message I am able to write for a few seconds (now 30 seconds or more) and the message remains on the screen but not blocking this conversation. It appears to be random but in fact as you can later see from the video, it is not reappearing each periodic number of seconds but as I reach a new comment.
I will try to close iTunes so that this can be stopped (I clicked on OK and it appeared another few times, each time I clicked on ok and now it has left me in peace to write here although iTunes is still not yet closed).
Difficult to log down all the strange behaviour but I think you can get the gist of what is going on.
2014 01 12 12 49 27
Should I remove the iPod and stop iTunes? I have a nasty feeling turning to indifference since I have video footage which will verify all the above in a court of law if later required. The truth must always win over any devious attempts at forcing people to do things they don't want to ;-)

How to print from different wireless connection on same network
I can print wirelessly when I am in range of the wifi to which my computer and attached printer connect. However, when I go to a different wifi connection within the same network, I cannot print. How can I my wifi connections on same network talk to each other so that I can print from second wifi site on same network?
The problem is you loaded the printer directly and now do not have it plugged in.. so delete the printer in the control panel.. then setup the printer again.. this time connect to it as network printer. The bonjour should make it available as a network resource..
Tell me if you still run into trouble doing that. You may need to load the IP of the TC manually..
Window7 has higher security level than xp.. and that can sometimes also cause issues.
Are you using SMB compliant names for the TC, wireless and printer??
Can the windows 7 computer get internet via the TC? Can you ping it?
Look up how to reduce the security level in windows to match xp.. I don't remember the details but you have to do some nifty footwork. -
How to reduce number of colors in an image
I am fairly new to Photoshop and I'm learning as I go, so I apologize for using your time. I haven't worked with images that much - I've used MS Digital Image Suite with photos from my camera. That's the extent of my knowledge.
I am taking over a job from someone who is gone and I can't ask him how to do this. He used Photoshop to reduce the number of colors in an image (for example, a color drawing or clipart) to 2-6 colors. I haven't been able to figure this out. I've visited this site that explains how to reduce tones but it's still a lot of colors. I thought I might learn something from this link that explained how to make Photoshop cartoons, but I didn't. I've done a lot of searching but nothing seems to explain this. I know that the other guy had some knowledge of Photoshop but he wasn't a power user.
Thanks to anyone who will help me. (I am using CS5.)Are you sure that he was using Photoshop? (see my third solution)
There are some plug-ins for Photoshop, but they basically do the same as the posterize or index mode: http://www.topazlabs.com/simplify/ (commercial) see this panel for colorizing comic art: http://vimeo.com/user3771002/videos
I would rather use posterize, as an adjustment layer, as you can control it.
Try with this layer stack, from bottom to top:
Convert the original image in a Smart Object, in order to use Smart filters and blur the image (Gaussian Blur, or noise>median or blur>smart blur or blur>surface blur could be interesting internatives) would be useful, to make smoother posterized areas.
A dodge/burn layers (a neutral gray layer in overlay mode) to adjust areas using the Dodge/burn tools.
the Posterize Adjustment layer, with very few colors
On top of it, put a gradient map adjustment layer, to control the posterized colors
Vectorizing in Illustrator can also be used to reduce the number of colors. Live Trace: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/illustrator/cs/using/WS714a382cdf7d304e7e07d0100196cbc5f-6229a .html

How to print from windows 7 pc on time capsule network?
I added a new pc with windows 7 on my time capsule network. Existing network includes 2 macbook pros and 1 mac mini with boot camp and windows xp. I have been using the windows xp with bootcamp on the mac mini and printing from it for a couple years. We don't share files between the notebooks and mac mini, just internet access and printing. My bootcamp side got too full which is why I added the new windows pc (yuk) for my windows programs but I cannot figure out how to get the windows pc to recognize my printer connected to airport time capsule. I installed the printer software and drivers and connected it with usb and printed but when I connect the printer back to time capsule the pc doesn't see it. Also, I downloaded bonjour from apple site but still no go. Any help is appreciated. As you can probably tell, I only know enough to be dangerous. That's why I love my Macs, they just work!
The problem is you loaded the printer directly and now do not have it plugged in.. so delete the printer in the control panel.. then setup the printer again.. this time connect to it as network printer. The bonjour should make it available as a network resource..

How to reduce buffer busy waits, session hanging due to buffer busy waits
Hi,
How to reduce buffer busy waits, session hanging due to buffer busy waits.
Thanks,
Sathis. When I see through enterprise manager I see lot of
tables with buffer busy waits.
Is there any way by table name we can check the
blocks info.
The simple way is to look at the SQL statement and corresponding table name?
P1=file#, P2=block#. You can extract segment name(table or index) using this info.
Query v$bh like following:
SQL> select file#, block#, class#, objd from v$bh where file# = P1 and block# = P2;
SQL> select object_name from all_objects where object_id = <objd>;See following doc:
http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14237/dynviews_1051.htm
Or you can dump block:
SQL> alter system dump datafie <P1> block <P2>;Some excerpts from block dump:
scn: 0x07df.17e70782 seq: 0x01 flg: 0x04 tail: 0x07822301
frmt: 0x02 chkval: 0x61d0 type: 0x23=PAGETABLE SEGMENT HEADER
Map Header:: next 0x00000000 #extents: 1 obj#: 55881 flag: 0x10000000>
Can we do something at table level that will reduce
the waits.
Yes, some methods are known. But before thinking of that, you must verify which block class and which access are involved.
Typo... always. :(
