How to reduce linespace of top 20 bookmarks evoked by triangle

A lot of space is waste by the new spacing of the TOP 20 Bookmarks evoked by the upside down triangle right to the web address line. How can the former spacing restored?

how do I hide top hits, bookmarks & history drop down menu when typing in safari search bar?

    Not completely.
In Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Check both Do not preload top hits in the background & Prevent earch engine from providing suggestions.
This will eliminate top hits and search engine suggestions.
I am not sure about the rest.
As far as History, I guess you could clear it and use Private Browsing.
Bookmarks, I don't think there is anything you can do about that besides removing them.

  • How to reduce number of colors in an image

I am fairly new to Photoshop and I'm learning as I go, so I apologize for using your time.  I haven't worked with images that much - I've used MS Digital Image Suite with photos from my camera.  That's the extent of my knowledge.
I am taking over a job from someone who is gone and I can't ask him how to do this.  He used Photoshop to reduce the number of colors in an image (for example, a color drawing or clipart) to 2-6 colors.  I haven't been able to figure this out.  I've visited this site that explains how to reduce tones but it's still a lot of colors.  I thought I might learn something from this link that explained how to make Photoshop cartoons, but I didn't.  I've done a lot of searching but nothing seems to explain this.  I know that the other guy had some knowledge of Photoshop but he wasn't a power user.
Thanks to anyone who will help me.  (I am using CS5.)

Are you sure that he was using Photoshop? (see my third solution)
There are some plug-ins for Photoshop, but they basically do the same as the posterize or index mode: http://www.topazlabs.com/simplify/ (commercial) see this panel for colorizing comic art: http://vimeo.com/user3771002/videos
I would rather use posterize, as an adjustment layer, as you can control it.
Try with this layer stack, from bottom to top:
Convert the original image in a Smart Object, in order to use Smart filters and blur the image (Gaussian Blur, or noise>median or blur>smart blur or blur>surface blur could be interesting internatives) would be useful, to make smoother posterized areas.
A dodge/burn layers (a neutral gray layer in overlay mode) to adjust areas using the Dodge/burn tools.
the Posterize Adjustment layer, with very few colors
On top of it, put a gradient map adjustment layer, to control the posterized colors
Vectorizing in Illustrator can also be used to reduce the number of colors. Live Trace: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/illustrator/cs/using/WS714a382cdf7d304e7e07d0100196cbc5f-6229a .html

  • How to reduce purple color cast in high ISO Nikon D4 and D810 photos

In low-light photos taken with my D4 and D810 I often (but not always) get a severe purple color cast in the dark areas of the photo. I'm going to try posting a link to an example of one such photo, which I've put in my Dropbox account. I hope this works:
Dropbox - Example of magenta color cast-001.jpg
If the link works, you'll see what I mean: the dark areas are purple, not black as they should be. This was taken at the dress rehearsal for a play at ISO 3200, about the lowest ISO that I could get away with. The purple cast seems more pronounced along the edges of the photo.
I've read a bit about "amp glow"; is that what I'm seeing here? If it is, what can I do about it? Turning the camera off and on again and again to try to cool the sensor and the nearby electronics isn't much of an option.
And whether it's "amp glow" or something else, is there a good way to deal with it in Lightroom? I've had some success with reducing the purple saturation (and sometimes the purple luminance as well) in the "HSL" panel, but that becomes a problem if there are important elements in the photo which are SUPPOSED to be purple.
Any and all advice would be welcome.

    dorffersmatt wrote:
Interestingly, my e-mail says there was another post about how to reduce the purple cast with proper in-camera settings, but now that post seems to have been deleted (by the poster? by somebody at Adobe?)
The poster (Drugstore) may have deleted the post after reading further because it may not have been relevant......just a guess. If you're shooting raw format the in-camera settings such as white balance are not applied to the image file, but they are for JPEGs. The suggestions I provided are applicable to both JPEG and raw image files, but you'll get the best results using raw format.
    dorffersmatt wrote:
    1) You said that you sometimes see the purple cast with your D4 and D810 if the white balance isn't set properly. What would you consider a proper white balance setting for a situation such as this one? It was the dress rehearsal for a play, with constantly shifting lighting. I just left the white balance on "Auto"; how would you have approached the situation?
Again, this only applies to JPEG format image files. For raw image files the WB EXIF data is read and set accordingly inside LR. For JPEGs the image data has the (incorrect?) WB applied in-camera, which compromises the dynamic range of the JPEG 8-bit/color data. Raw files are 16 bit/color.
    dorffersmatt wrote:
    2) You said that you also sometimes see it if "you activate the lens correction in LR while in raw mode and exposure is too low." Could you elaborate on that? Do you mean that I shouldn't use "Enable profile corrections" in the "Lens Corrections" panel?
I'm guessing this refers to what you call "amp glow" (amplifier glow). It usually appears as a higher exposure level around the edge of the image and may be confined to one area (top, bottom, sides). By turning off Lens Profile corrections ( "Enable profile corrections") Vignetting correction is not applied, which reduces the exposure level in the corners and frame edges. Some cameras automatically apply distortion and/or vignetting correction in-camera when shooting in JPEG format. Again, this is just another reason why you want to use raw format to get the best results inside LR.

  • How to reduce oracle DB's size?

    Hi,All
After upgrading NW7.0 to NW7.0 EHP1, the oracle's changed from 37GB to 70GB, How to reduce the DB's size?
    Thanks.
    Best regards
    Jiande Ding

    Hi,
1.From DB02--> detail analysis menu you can take out top 50 tables & indexes. you can mark the size of the index should be generally less than the table. If its more or very much similar size of table, you can rebuild it using SE14. This can free some space.
or else you may use brspace to do this.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/58/6bec38c9fa7e44b7f2163905863575/frameset.htm
In case of table this option is risky as it may result in data loss.
    2. Earlywatch alert gives the top 20 degenrated index. you can check that which also gives a factor 'storage quality'.
    3. Run report SAP_DROP_TMPTABLES. It removes temporary database objects. ( we do this in our BW system)
    Hope this helps

  • How to reduce the size of cloned Oracle Applications Instance

How to reduce the size of cloned Oracle applications instance, so as to save the storage space for the cloned systems.
How can we remove unimplemented modules in the instance so that we can reclaim the space occupied by them.
can any please suggest on this..?

    mumbai,
I would recommend to leave it as it is.
If you can add some inexpensive HDD to your test system then do so.
The Apps DB storage decreasing process is quite painful and isn't straightforward.
You can’t just delete unused schemas & tablesapces (if they are not used than they are not consuming reasonable space anyway). The modules in Apps are using each other procedures and objects. The effect of deleting one module (schema) is highly unpredictable.
If you will do something like that than you will not be able to patch your cloned system after that.
Some things can be done however in order to reduce size of a testing Apps system:
    - Decries UNDO & TEMP tablespaces. Normally you do not need that big tbs in test system as you have got in the production.
    - If your REDO LOG files are quite big and you have got a lot of redo groups you can recreated smaller REDO log files.
    - On Apps tier you can delete OUTput and LOG files
In case you still would like to decrease data volume in your testing system you need to take a look on some tools which provide data subtracting capabilities from Apps DB. This process has to be quite intelligent. The tool have to know the data structures in APPS DB and subtract data in the way to not harm logical relationships between records. After a subtracting process you will need to make multiple FULL exp/imp cycles in order to reduce physical space consumed by the database. Beside the fact that those tools are quite expensive you will need to spend a lot of your time to implement those.
BTW: That is the size of you production DB? Have you analyzed which module takes most of the space? May be you can identify top 10 objects and try to archive a data from those object preventing the future grow of the production database.

  • How to reduce an illustrator file to 25 percent without losing quality?

I have created a graphic image at full size. The graphic company has requested the file to be reduced to 25% to allow uploading. I have no idea how to reduce the entire image while keeping it an illustrator file. I am also worried about losing the quality once it is expanded to 100%.

The file I have created is at full scale it is 186 inches by 152 inches. It
contains other things such as text and smaller images on top of the file. I
would like to keep all of the proportions but I am needing to scale my file
down to 25 percent of the original image. The graphic company requests this
and they plan to open it and rescale it to 100 percent. I am also worried
about losing quality when they rescale this photo. Am I making sense?

  • How to reduce the transparency of these curtains?

Hi all, I am currently photoshopping (CS5) this picture and I was wondering whether anyone could give me some advice on how to reduce the transparency of the curtains (in the bottom half a terrace and window frame are shining through)? I tried playing with the 'Output Levels' on those areas, but the result is quite uneven. If only the folds were parallel I could stretch the top part over the terrace. Thanks in advance!

In the end I stretched out the terrace bits and levelled it out with the rest of the curtains.

How do I save and import my bookmarks from another hard drive? When I try to open the installed Firefox on the old drive, it (obviously) opens a browser from the new main drive, free of bookmarks. Is there a way I can save the bookmarks on the old drive without opening a browser?
The guts of my computer were rearranged and I got a new main hard drive. My old one is still in there and I can get stuff from it, but when I go to the Mozilla folder on the old one, I can't figure out if there's anything I can do to get all my bookmarks from that drive to my new one, where Firefox is newly installed.

If you open Firefox then Firefox will always use the default profile folder as found via profiles.ini on your system drive.
You either need to import the file in your current default profile or copy the file to your current profile folder while Firefox is closed.
Firefox 3 stores the bookmarks and the browser history in [http://kb.mozillazine.org/places.sqlite places.sqlite] and no longer creates an HTML backup by default.
There are also (five) JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder within the Firefox profile folder.
You can either copy the file places.sqlite to your [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] or import the most recent JSON backup from the bookmarkbackups folder of that old profile.
    See:
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Backing_up_and_restoring_bookmarks_-_Firefox
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
"Application Data" in XP/Win2K and "AppData" in Vista/Windows 7 are hidden folders.
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidden_files_and_folders
Go to: Control Panel > Folder Options > "View" tab > under "Hidden files and folders", select "Show hidden files and folders".
You may want to un-check the box "Hide extensions for known file types" to see the file extensions of all files.

    where column1=@column1
in this case i need to add a index on column1 right? Pls llet me know
Yes, an index in column1 (preferably clustered) would avoid the table scan for each update. The ELT the staging table alternative Jim suggested will likely perform better than individual updates for a large process like this.
