How to refer standard component to create customize component?

Dear experts,
Can any one guide me how to refer a standard component to understand the flow of the event of with in the views and there are various methods are present to change properties of a field property. How can we refer the standard code for changing our field property?

I think all these classes serve the purpose of embracing the basic ones and are used specificalty in MM module.
If you want to create similar module pool program with nice expand/collapse buttons in relation to subscreens please refer the some tips [here|expand/collapse button functionality on module pool screen;
Also there are transactions like BIBS, DWDM which you can follow the examples from. I think SAP has covered all GUI controlls there so you can create really complex programs with various GUI controlls independently of module used for.
Of course you can still stick to classes you mentioned but I think the better is to learn some standard approach of creating such screens, then if you feel more advanced go for using module specific ones if you really need that.

How to add "ATTACHMENTS" assignment block in standard component ERP_H

Dear All,
I have a requirement where i have to add the "Attachments" assignment block to standard component "ERP_H". I have taken following steps so far and i am able to display the view in the component ERP_H, however no funtionality has been defined.
I created a component usage of component "GS_CM" in the runtime repository of component ERP_H
and now i am able to display the assignment block in the overview page of component ERP_H
Now i have to create a custom controller and here is where the problem lies. When i try to create a custom controller, it asks for a BOL Entity, and in order to have the same BOL entity as in component GS_CM, i have to add Model "CM" to the runtime repository of component ERP_H, however i m not able to add Model CM in the runtime repository of component ERP_H unabling me to create the custom controller.
Any pointers would help, if there is any other way to create custom controller instead of adding bol component in the runtime repository.

Take BP_HEAD as an example and its overview page view.
BP head overview page will display view with in the same component and views from other component (say BP_ROLE).
1) for the BP_ROLE first interface component has to be defined
2) the interface component defined for BP_ROLE will be used as Component usage in BP_HEAD component (pls check the runtime repository)
3) Create a view of type overview page and assign views to overview page.
4) this overview page will be assigned to window.
Components will interact through component interface and component usage

Best Practice : Creating Custom Renderer for Standard Component

I've been reading the docs and a few threads about Custom Renderers. The best practice seems to be to create a Custom Component where you need a Custom Renderer. Is this the case?

I've created several Custom Renderers to override the HTML provided by the Standard Components, however I can't see the benefit in also creating a Custom Component when the behaviour of the standard component is just fine.

It all depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Generally speaking if all you need is for the user interface output to be changed then a renderer will work just fine. A new component is usually made in order to provide some fundamental change in server side functionality not related to the user interface. - Ponderator

Created A view in standard Component.

Hi All,
I have created few view and view set In a standard component As per my requirement . This view and view set is created successfully .
But when I want to add the view or view set In Runtime Resportiory it is not visible.
For E.g. I want to add the view in Overview page but the view is not showing.
Some where We have to append.
Any pointer can help me.

Hi Rasmi,
Are you searching the view in the enhanced component itself?. Usually people do a mistake that they give the standard component name and the view won't be visible. While giving the component name, give with Z.

How R12 seeded (standard) business areas are created in fresh EUL

As per Note ID 1074326.1 under section "6.8. Import Discoverer Content for E-Business Suite Release 12 using adupdeul.sh mode=complete"
all the existing business areas are also included while import.
Kindly let me know how R12 seeded (standard) business areas are created in fresh EUL.

Hi,
No, You cannot create Interface Methods/Nodes in Standard Component by Enhancing. I would suggest to create a Singleton class and create your method in that class and can access across components.

Hi Sankar,
You can do it as below
Approach1:
Enhance the view , use, post exit of WDDOMODIFYVIEW( ) and set the visible property of button as below
lo_btn->set_visible( cl_wd_button=>e_visible-none ).
Aproach2:
Enhance the view
Go to the button ( ui element tree ) and right click and chose the "Remove Element" as below
Note: you can undo the element deletion if required
Approach3:
use the personalization/customization either by using admin mode or application configuration.

Enhancing F4 Search Help Issue - Standard Component

Hello All,
We have a requirement in SRM to customize couple of standard Search helps attached to the Webdynpro components. As such I know the concept of how we can handle this requirement but hitting an issue.
Standard Working scenario -
1) Standard Structure available with multiple fields. Two fields that are of our interest are SH_VALUE and SH_VALUE_LABEL.
2) Standard Search help for this being used has fields VALUE and VALUE_LABEL.
3) In the Structure the both the fields SH_VALUE and SH_VALUE_LABEL are mapped to the Search help VALUE and VALUE_LABEL.
4) In the WD component the node is mapped to the standard structure.
Running the application and the picking up the values from F4 on the SH_VALUE field will return its corresponding value and also map the SH_VALUE_LABEL field with the Label from the F4 since the structure and Search help mapping are there.
So far good when its standard.
Issue I am facing -
We need to modify this standard search help to customize our needs.
1) Did a Copy of the standard Search help and then modified to suit our needs. The output structure of the search is still the same as the standard one.
2) Did a Post Exit in the WD component to call our custom search help through the below code -
data lo_nd_attrib type ref to if_wd_context_node.
data lo_nd_attrib_info type ref to if_wd_context_node_info.
lo_nd_attrib = wd_context->path_get_node( path = `ATTRIBUTES_DATA.ATTR_DTLS_MULT` ).
lo_nd_attrib_info = lo_nd_attrib->get_node_info( ).
lo_nd_attrib_info->set_attribute_value_help( name = 'SH_VALUE' value_help_mode = '121' value_help = 'Z_ORG_ATTR' ).
lo_nd_attrib_info->set_attribute_value_help( name = 'SH_VALUE_LABEL' value_help_mode = '121' value_help = 'Z_ORG_ATTR' ).
Running the application just returns the SH_VALUE field but does not get the data for the SH_VALUE_LABEL.
Is there something wrong in the way I am calling the Custom Search help or should I need to approach this differently?

Well, you are trying to set the search help to both attributes ( sh_value, sh_value_label) individually and it is having no link between these two attributes
i.e. once you select a value from search help of SH_VALUE, its no where linked that the other details to be passed to SH_VALUE_LABEL.
We generally, do the linking of attributes to search help parameters at structure level as below
So, if you need the same behaviour, then you need to assign the Zsearch help at strucuture field SH_VALUE and link the parameters to both fields SH_VALUE & SH_VALUE_LABEL
In case, if find it not possible to to this way,
You need to populate the value of field SH_VALUE_LABEL upon selection of value from search help of SH_VALUE.
i.e. by registering the search help selection event to an OnEnter action and write the logic to populate the value to SH_VALUE_LABEL

How to use custom component configuration

Hi Experts,
For a standard webdynpro object I have created a new z component configuration by copying from existing one. In the standard there are already 2 existing component configuration.
This webdynpro does not have any application created so I am not able to directly assign this component configuration.
During run time in portal when I view the properties I can see a application for this webdynpro component and the standard component configuration being used.
My question is how to use the z component configuration I have created in the webdynpro?

How to display the Component view in the Pop up

I created one Z Component.
In that i put one Button name as a POPUP.
when i press that Button i want open an another component View or Same Component another View.
How it is possible.

You can look into any of the standard fields with an F4 help for sample code..like Business Partner etc.,

To fetch data from a standard component through Component Controller

Hi,
I have a requirement in which i have to access and display a standard view of a standard component in a Custom Component.
I am able to display or configure that view on Custom Component by using Component Usage and Component Interface. But unable to populate the data in that view. Although i have exposed a context node in the standard component and created the same context node in my custom component in the Component Controller and using its method WD_USAGE_INITIALIZE to bind them.Please, provide some pointers on it.

Hi Sharad,
The data will show up only if you put them there. May be the standard component itself gets the data from some where else. Usually, these data are provided by the component controller. For example, the component controller contains the header entity and the used component has access to the header entity via binding and shows all item entries fetched via relations(usually this is done in on_new_focus method). If the binding is there, but no data ia available, it will stay empty.
Check a standard main component which uses the standard component that you are using and look at how they are establishing the connections.( component/custom controller bindings, on_new_focus methods,,)
