How to remove white line that appears on background of flash file when viewing in powerpoint?

When importing a swf file into powerpoint with a background colour a thin white line appears on the top of the flash movie when played in powerpoint. The white line disappears when you click onto another slide and back again, but always appears when initially playing the slide. Anyone have any ideas why this is and how to remove it?

Separator or border used to delineate the User Interface (Toolbars) from the content area.
Contact the developer of Tree Style Tabs. If that white line doesn't appear until you click on a Tab, I would call it a Bug or glitch in that extension.

How to terminate VB process that calls VI Dll Library when application closed

I have simple VB application to call VI DLL library. The problem is the VB executable file will reside in processes list even close the VB application. Looks like VI DLL does not free from memory when VB application unloaded. Did I miss something to terminate or unload VI DLL in VB program or VI program?

Well, I'm afraid we're down to good old-fashioned debugging tricks - something is happening that the OS doesn't want to kill. You can try to comment out sections of the VI (new feature in LV 8.2!) to see when it starts to work, or review the code looking for things like event handlers, callbacks, mutexes, open file handles, etc. It's hard to say what going wrong at this level. Also if you are calling out to 3rd party code (Call Library Node, ActiveX, .NET), make sure that it isn't creating such items and holding onto them.
General rules of thumb...
1. If you don't have a shutdown VI, or some sort of reference close VI, each VI you call from outside (DLL function) must exist with nothing left in LabVIEW - for example, no registered event handlers, no open file handles, etc. Just like camping, "leave it like you found it".
2. If you do have such a shutdown, ensure that everything is indeed being shutdown correctly.

How do I recover photos that are in my library but I can't find the files?

After uploading pics of a car accident I was involved in (to iPhoto 6), I moved them to a separate folder. Now they appear at the top of the iPhoto screen in the Library, and the information appears in the lower left hand corner, but I can't view them, and they're no longer in the folder I moved them to.
These pics might save me a lot of money, so I would very much appreciate a solution.

It is strongly advised that you do not move, change or in anyway alter things in the iPhoto Library Folder as this can cause the application to fail and even lead to data loss
Where did you move them to? Did you do this using the Finder? This would explain why iPhoto can't find them.
Of course you backed up this important data, right?
Try a spotlight search for them
Kind -> Images
Size -> greater than -> 100kb
Search the whole comuter. It'll find every image.
If they're not in there, then you have trashed them.
You may have some luck revocering them using something like File Salvage

Is there a way to set up final cut express to default to the proper settings so that 1920 x 1080 h.246 mov files don't have to be rendered when dropped onto the timeline? It is really not efficient to work on something when it takes hours to render. Thanks

How do I turn off that nasty autocompletion in gtk+2 file requester.

If this is a dupe - sorry. Used the search, nothing found.
This little issue starts to be REALLY annoying.
Since one of the recent version of GTK+2 some ill-minded devil turned on autocompletion in file browser. I can't type the path without getting a hit on my nerves. I put '/h' and it autocomplets to '/home' bot the cursor is put after the word and it turns out to be '/home/om'. This is annoying like hell. Autocompletion is ok - when it works like in word-processors: If it completes the word, the completed part should be "highlighted" so i can type further or input "arrow_left" or "space" to acknowledge the completion.
I know this is not related to Arch, I have the same in Gentoo and Ubuntu. But maybe someone here knows how to turn the damned thing off. Pretty please with sugar on top.

Editing date in Organizer - but how can i 'hard' write that new date to the actual files?

Hi, i have a number of files which were created by digitizing about 40 anolog tapes. These tapes have been 'split' into clips(largish) using AV cutty software [it worked v well] and therefore have about 25 avi files per tape.
I have now imported all of these from folders) into Organizer to tag etc before creating projects in Premiere.
However, I can amend the dates in Organizer (some of the clips have timestamp on the screen) BUT i want this to be hard-coded back to the original files - is there any way to do this. Otherwise will i have to edit the dates of the clips in Windows Explorer, using something like AttributeMagic

PS I fully understand that Orginzer is purely referential, but is there NO way to allow the data (eg tags/dates to be writtrn back to the source files?)

PC drives geerally are formatted MBR (master boot record) on the drive and NTFS partitions.
Mac can read NTFS but not write it unless you buy additional software.
Do you want to keep that drive's files for read access, or is your PC-world done?

How to change the extension that FW's attaches to exported files.

It appears that when FW creates html files for "preview file" function or "export html and images" function, it attaches the ".htm" extension. But when I am assigning links to varous elements of my design, the "links" drop down menu only offers me ".html" options. I can manually change the .html's to .htm's. But is it possible to tell FW to generate .htm files instead of .html's. Or is there a way to change the offerings in the "links" drop down menu so that it offers .htm's instead of .html's?

Delete some apps, files, photos, videos, movies, etc to free up some space.
How much space is your Other using? You may be able to reduce.

How do you use a specific program to open a specific file in java?

I want to use java to create a program that users get to pick what programs to open a file with and then opens it. For example, the user wants to open a .txt file. We all know that many programs can open that- MSWord, Textpad, Notepad etc. What i want to do is automatically open the file the user chose in a program that he chose. If the user wanted MSWord to open the .txt then MSWord will startup and the user should see the file. Samething applies for other programs. Anyone know how to implement this in java? I know you can open executibles but these arent those types... Thanks!

And then you still need - at least in Windows - register all of your files to be opened with your program so it can relay that call.
Frankly, I think I'd hate your program, ahving to make a chioce every time I want to open a file... I mean, how often does it happen that you want to open a file with any other program than the one you usually use? And Windows still has the "Open with..." dialog as well, if I really want to pick something else.

How can I reference the symbol that contains the code.

I am trying to create a circle that is dynamically added to the stage.
Iwant to add all of the programatic animations in the symbol's stage but I can't figure out how to reference teh symbol itself with something I use to do in AS3 using the keyword this
For example:
- I create a symbol called Light, with a png inside
- I open it and place a series of code lines
