How to reflash a Q10 from Sprint US

I recently got a blackberry Q10 from Sprint US as a thank you for attending their session in BBLive in Orlando. Since that time, I moved to Canada and I now use the Rogers Network. The device has a SIM Card and is asking to be activivated. Since it is not activated yet, I cannot use the unlocking function under "Security and Privacy" and then  SIM Card as that option is not in the menu. Since I am not planning to head to the US, and I no longer live in the US, I need some other way to either unlock the device or reflash the device to a Canadian Carrier (Rogers). I have confirmed from Sprint US, that the Q10 I have does indeed support the GSM network for roaming purposes. So it matter of finding a new way to unlock the device or reflash the device to be Rogers compliant. Any ideas?

If all chances have used up, there is nothing further you can do. Even if you happen to have now the correct code, it is useless. Only the factory can now (legally) unlock your BB. Typically, I've heard that the cost of having BlackBerry do this for you will be greater than the cost of just buying a new one. But, you are able to ask them...see here:

Note, however, that this process will start with a fee...
If you obtained your unlock code from somewhere but it was incorrect, your recourse could be with them -- however, they may well question why you exhausted all 10 attempts before contacting them.
If your BB was already MEP locked and you obtained it from a source that represented it as being able to be unlocked, then your recourse would be with the seller you obtained it from. eBay provides plenty of buyer protection for buyers who receive items that do not match what the listing stated...but you need to investigate that with eBay.

    I and many others have upgraded without issue so it is something particular to your phone setup.
    Have you tried a hard reboot (volume up/down keys held for ~20 secs or power key for ~10)?

    Because the new BlackBerrys are "world phones", they have GSM radios (T-Mobile and AT&T) as well as CDMA radios (Verizon and Sprint). Sprint and Verizon will never allow a device they did not sell themselves on their network, but the GSM carriers don't operate that way. They "lock" the phones they sell to their own networks, but once unlocked you can use a GSM phone on any GSM carrier's network. Verizon BlackBerrys come with the GSM side unlocked so they're ready to operate on T-Mobile or AT&T right out of the box.

    I'm hearing a lot of mixed things on this topic. Sprint says they can unlock your phone with a MSL code on their official unlocking policy, yet iPhones don't use MSL. I've heard that sprint is CDMA and I would only be able to use my phone on another CDMA network, yet the iPhone 5s can use GSM too. I even have sprint sim card installed so I'm not sure if my phone can use both networks. I contacted their costumer service hotline and barely understood what the lady said on the line so I'm here stuck with terrible cell service while paying a ridiculous amount of money.
    1. Will my phone only be restricted to use only sprint?
    2. If can, how can I request my phone to be unlocked from sprint and wha
    3. Is my phone CMDA or GSM? Can use only one or both with my sprint iPhone?

    2. You can request an unlock from Sprint if you are eligible which will unlock the GSM side of the iPhone for use with non-domestic carriers.
    3. Your phone is both. The problem is Verizon is the only other CDMA network in the US and they will not accept carry in phones.
    Sell the iPhone you have and use the proceeds to buy a new one on another carrier.

    You make an appointment at the genius bar of your local Apple Store.
    If it's the back glass that's cracked, it will cost you about $30 to get it repaired. If it's the screen, you're looking at $199 + tax for a replacement phone.

    Its called Activation Lock. Take the phone to Sprint and explain your problem. It is their fault and responsibility to properly reset used phones.

  • I bought my Iphone 4 from Sprint. I have little or no internet service. When I go into extended network areas, my phone sends old text messages to my friends, repeatedly. Is this a Sprint issue?

    I bought my I-Phone 4s from Sprint. The salesman raved about how much faster my internet would be with Sprint, also told me 4g was being added my area, and it would be even faster. Well now 4g is here. All of my friends on AT&T enjoy 4g, while I am only getting 3g, my internet is so slow, I rarely use it!
    Last week I visited the Sprint store where I purchased my phone, to find out what the problem was. They told me NONE of the I-Phones were capable of getting 4g??????  Wow, Has anyone else been blatantly lied to by Sprint.
    The other issue I am having is: every time I leave my home area, and go into the extended area network, and then return into my home area, my phone starts resending old text messages to my friends, that they had recieved days ago!. Of course the Sprint Personnel argued with me and said those were just messages that never went through the first time. I have screenshots of the duplicate messages from my friends, phones.
    My I-Phone was great for the first 2 months. this month my I-Phone has completely quit 3 times, Sprint says a tower is down every time I call in to report it.
    Is anyone else having these problems with the I-phone 4s?

    You are not alone on issues related to weak signals.  It happens to us all regardless of the carrier in the US. 
    I have an iPhone4, legally unlocked with replaceable SIM that I use here In Australia, the US and Europe.  I simply replace the SIM to phone accounts in other countries.  Do have issues at home here in Australia from time to time, but many more problems in the US than any other country.
    When the signal is weak, ususally 1 bar the phone does not have enough power to stay connected.  It will attempt to receive and send, but is trying to process so much that the signal cannot cope. 
    If any employee from Sprint, ATT or any other carrier attempts to tell you it is you and not their system they are out right lying.  Just as they lied when they told you that the iPhone was 4G.  Some try to get around the issue by saying 3GLite, but that really does not apply either because of the mobiles frequency range. 
    In fact the Australian government fined Apple AUD$2.25 million + $330,000 in costs for advertising that the new iPad was 4G and LTE, which it is not.  There is currently another legal challenge over the iPhone4S.
    If you have anything in writing from Sprint that says 4G then you need to contact your states attorney general.  At least file a complaint with both Sprint and the FCC.  If they tell you it is 4G then they either are lying or they do not have a clue to the mobile.
    When the signal is weak the phone keeps attempting to send anything that you have sent.  Sometimes that means multiple sends if the signal keeps dropping to low and it has to try all over again.
    One way around the problem is by using an internet or data based app like Viber or WhatsApp.  Both are voice, text and data Apps that will use Wi-Fi first then 3G if Wi-Fi is not available.  Because they use the data side of your mobiles plan it does not take as much power or size to receive or send.  Plus, because they are primarily Wi-Fi then data bases they do not use as much time or text units.  You can find them online or through the Apple App Store.
    Iv used Viber for years because I can use it overseas or talk, video, text or msg internationally without use of any mobile plan time.
    Rember to that in the states you have I think 72 days to return a mobile to the carrier without any charges. 
    I use ATT in the states and when I am at home here I get almost no signal ... I depend 99% on Viber or WhatsApp to even talk.

    As stated in a previous post above, you will need to change Palm Desktop's sync settings to Microsoft Outlook. 
    The Treo Pro uses Microsoft Windows Mobile as its operating system, and is designed to sync with Outlook, and not Palm Desktop.
    If you don't have a copy of Outlook on your computer, then it will have to be purchased.
    There is a "switch" in Palm Desktop that will tell your old phone to start syncing with Outlook.  Start Button/All Programs/Palm/PIM Conduit Sync/Sync with Outlook.  Once you've activated this switch, all your data will migrate to Outlook, and the Pro will automagically find it there when you do your first ActiveSync.

    I recently switched phone service from my iPhone4 (on Verizon) to a iPhone5 (Sprint). Before trading the iPhone4 in to Sprint for a credit, I backed up all of the phone's data including pictures. After activating the new phone (the 5), I cannot figure out how to get the pics from the 4 (no longer in my possession). When I access my iCloud account, I can see where my previous phone's data was backed up before I traded it into Sprint.
    How did I use the iCloud or iTunes to get those pictures on my new phone?

    Those phones will be LOCKED to the carrier who's service plan you subscribe to - they WILL NOT work outside of the USA nor on any carrier other than the one chosen at the time of ordering.
    You would want one of the unlocked GSM phones (16Gb=$649 USD, 32Gb=$749 and 64Gb=$849)
    You cannot order from the web store unless you have a USA credit card with a USA billing AND shipping address (the web stores ONLY ship to their own country, not to other countries).  So as already mentioned, you would have to come to the USA and buy an UNLOCKED iPhone at an Apple store.

    There are obvious ways to do it one-by-one, zip file by zip file, but there is apparently some obscure way to bulk-transfer photos (I have almost 3400 of them!) from Sprint's archive over to a personal computer. Anyone know how to do it?
    From there I can import them into iPhoto. I'll even settle for a more indirect path using Sprint -> Flickr -> iPhoto or whatever sequence would work. Any insights or bright ideas will be appreciated!

    that is not an iPhoto issue - once you have a folder of photos on your Mac you can import the entire folder at once - you need to contact the vendor of Sprint's big Photo Service to find out how to download photos in bulk easily
