How to refresh cache for hostname used in RFC Dest

Hello @all,
does anyone knows how to refresh the cache where (for example) the hostnames used in ABAP RFC Destinations are stored? I'm getting an error "Details: NiHsLGetNodeAddr: hostname cached as unknown" when I try to test my generated Trusted RFC Destination...

Hi Nilesh,
unfortunately the solution does not work. Still I get the following error while testing the RFC Destination:
DETAIL: NiPGetHostByName: hostname 'MHPAEAFC' not found
Two things have been done.
1. an entry within /etc/resolv.conf for the host mhpaeafc
2. an entry within the hosts-file containing the IP adress, hostname and FQDN
Do you have any idea why the SAP system still is not able to resolve the hostname?
We tried 'ping' and 'nslookup' on the operating system hosting the SAP system with the result that the host can be resolved.

After establishing the Credit Card account (i.e. after you have made purchases), you can remove the credit card information by editing your payment info, choosing "None".

How to disable caching for pcui applications

Somehow the PCUI applications are cached and when we go to some opportunity and come back to the previous one,
we can still see the changed data which is not actually saved to the Box but if we refresh the page it will go off.
If we click on save, and if it has some error ,it wont save the opportunity but the changed data remains in the page something like Work protect in Portal.Couldnt find any options in portal and disabling cache for Iview didnt help.How can we disable the PCUI or Sever cache so that the unsaved data goes off..

This can be done in two ways, one you can use transaction CRM_BSP_STATE_
ERASE and delete all the previous states.
Otherwise please append crm_bsp_restore=FALSE in the URL. This is
explained in SAP Cookbook. Please have a look at the same. Kindly let
me know for more information on the same.
This issue happens
because of state manager which saves the state for individual
application and individual user . This can be switched off by adding
a URL parameter "CRM_BSP_RESTORE=FALSE" in the query string.
Kindly please reffer the cook book for further detail.

How to refresh cache in TopLink, turn off cache

How does one refresh TopLink's cache resulting from an event change? As an example, if a stored procedure is triggered by a process independent of TopLink, how do I tell TopLink to refresh its cache.
Also, how does one turn off TopLink cache altogether. Thanks.

I do not typically recommend turning the TopLink cache off all together. The cache is also key for managing object identity. If you have data that changes outside of your Java applications knowledge then there are several strategies to handling the stale data situation in the cache.
1. Make sure you setup a locking strategy so that you can prevent or at least identify when values have already changed on an object you are modifying. Typically this is done using optimistic locking. There are several options (numeric version field, timestamp version field, some or all fields). Full details available in the docs.
2. Configure that cache appropriately per class. If the data is being modified by other applications then use a weaker style of cache for the class. SoftCacheWeakIdentityMap or WeakIdentityMap will minimize how long de-referenced objects are held in the cache.
3. Force a refresh if needed. On any query a flag can be set to force the query's execution to refresh the cache. (http://otn.oracle.com/docs/products/ias/doc_library/90200doc_otn/toplink.903/tl_flapi/oracle/toplink/queryframework/ObjectLevelReadQuery.html#refreshIdentityMapResult())
4. If the application is primarily read based and the changes are all being performed by the same Java application operating in a cluster you may want to look at TopLink's cache-sync feature. Although this won't prevent stale data it should greatly minimize it.
5. One less frequently used option is to build infrastructure that can notify TopLink's cache when something changes on the database. This involves building your own call-out mechanism from a trigger into the Java application hosting the TopLink session and cache. In the Java space you can make use of the cache API to force refresh, update the object yourself, or mark it as dirty. I would discourage removing it from the cache at the object may still be in use.
I hope this explains stale-data management at a high level. More details can be found throughout the TopLink documentation.

I found that there is portlet called "clear cache",
under provider portal tools. This when placed on a tab can clear the cache of that tab for a user.
I found this as a work around for the API.

The reply at the link says to configure a rule for "no-cache". This will not prevent the CE from making the request, it only tells the CE to not Cache it.
Reading the question, I am not sure of exactly what the request is, but if the goal is to have the client go directly to the server, there are multiple ways to do this.
If you want the client to make the connection to the site, you can you a redirect list on the WCCP router
In the following example, traffic to 172.18.124.193 will not be redirected to the CE, but will go directly to the server.
router# configure terminal
router(config)# ip wccp web-cache redirect-list 120
router(config)# access-list 120 deny ip any host 172.18.124.193
router(config)# access-list 120 permit ip any any
Or, you can create a static bypass entry on the CE using the bypass command. Bypass, like the router redirect list, requires the use of WCCP.

go to tcode SMICM and go to 'Goto' in the menu and there will be a HTTP cache - there select 'Invalidate Cache' and select global cache and clear the same.
Then in IE refresh your cache and you should be good to go.

Try to convert the prompt as SQL and use the same
set variable DISABLE_CACHE_HIT=1 followed by your prompt query at 2nd line.
ex: SET VARIABLE DISABLE_CACHE_HIT=1;SELECT Year FROM Day

I have a problem with Clear cache.
1. I create a Group name is Group1 that has 4 Privilenge( ).
2. I create a User name is User1 belong in Group1.
User1 has 4 Privilenge of Group1.
3. When I Edit Group1 and Remove 4 Privilenge of Goup1(Now,Group1 has not any Privilenge).
4.But User1 has still admin privilege as the old status.
I think that Websever is cached .Please tell me to sovle the problem.

to clear the cache for a particular user go to the portal admin pages - administer - portal - global settings
navigate to the cache tab
now you can either clear the entire webcache for portal or you clear the cache settings for a particular user.
another possibility (or in addition):
go to the page group settings - access tab - click clear cache.

I have a list region in page 0 that servers as a navigation menu for every page, I also has a html region on page 0. Cache option in both region are not available, is there a way to turn on cache for region in page 0?
If not, what is the alternative approach to have a list region show on every page and also has cache on? I do not want to create a list region in every page.

You can create own component in dyn/admin to do this.
1. Create a global component with the following properties
/atg/dynamo/service/GSAInvalidatorService
[repository of item to invalidate]
[itemDescriptor]
[repositoryId]
2. Create method invalidateCache
getGSAInvalidatorService().invalidate(getRepository(), getItemDescriptor(), getRepositoryId());
or, this should work as well
ItemDescriptor someItemDescriptor;
someItemDescriptor.removeItemFromCache(getRepositoryId());
Maybe try them both to see what works for you.
