How to refresh the container

Hi,
I have developed a user interface. A JScrollPane is a part of it and the JSP has a JTree in it. During the run time I am trying to remove the JSP from the container by this method:
jsp.getViewport().remove(myTree);
//Container content;
content.remove(jsp);
The problem is that i still see the JSP and its content (JTree) after the execution of the method. If I minimise the application and maximise it again I see that the JSP disappeared.
What is the reason for this?
Do I need something like refresh?

Refreshing the container in ALV grid

hi,
I am working on ALV GRID display (reports with ALV OOPS).
I hav created it, but now i need to refresh the container...........i.e when the user presses back and he is giving the new selection criteria , it shd pick the values based on the new selection criteria....
So, how do it refresh the container???????

In ALV, to refresh the table you have to call the method "refresh_table_display".
It has the syntax very similar to creating the table.
It has two parameters. In the first one, you can mention if you want to refresh only the data (the icons are not refreshed)
or
if you want to refresh only the icons around the grid (the data is not refreshed - this option is mostly not used in day to day applications).
the synatx is :-
call method grid (name of grid )->refresh_table_display
exporting
IS_STABLE = <STRUCT OF TYPE LVC_S_STBL> (THIS IS FOR DATA REFRESHING)
I_SOFT_REFRESH = <VARIABLE OF CHAR 01> (THIS IS FOR ICON REFRESHING).

How to refresh the ALV Tree

Hi,
I have an ALV Tree report developed using the OOPS. In my ALV Tree output, I have some buttons which will update the database after clicking. The data is correctly updating in the database. But, it is not getting updated in the ALV Tree display. That means, it is not REFRESHing the ALV Tree display. We have to again execute the program in order to see the updated output.
Could anyone please suggest me how to Refresh the ALV Tree display..?
We can't use the method 'REFRESH_TABLE_DISPLAY' as it is a PRIVATE method is the class CL_GUI_ALV_TREE.
Please share your valuable thoughts.

How to refresh the panel's display in listener?

I have a Jcombobox and a panel(square,background color:white). I want user to choose the panel's size from the combobox and thus change the panel's display. However, when I choose a value from combobox, the panel's size DOES change, but the display cannot be rerfreshed realtimely. It still display the panel by previous size. If I minimize the whole window and restore, then the panel gets refreshed, displaying by new size.
Can anybody tell me how to refresh the panel's display dynamically? thank you a lot.

if we bounce the listener the connections to other might be lost.NO!
The listener contacts the DB to establish the initial connection between client & DB.
After the connection between DB & client has started, the listener has NO involvement between DB & client.
Stopping the listener has NO impact on existing sessions.

     In a web Dynpro application, I am filling data to the Table control through Supply function. When I do some action (like save new record ) i want to refresh the table control means add the newly added record.

    if you are using a select query inside the supply function...
    then...
    you can just use node->invalidate(). method..
    it just invalidates the node that is bound to the table.
   so the supply function will be called again, which again uses the select query to fetch the values.. so that your table gets refreshed.

How to refresh the client area

i used javax.swing.JPanel and drawed many shapes with paintComponent method. i wonder how to refresh the client area.
ps: i first used paint method to draw shapes, but i found a copy of the menu bar appeared. at last i found paintComponent method works, but when i tried to refresh the client area with repaint, the same scene appears.
could some one help me?

How to refresh the field catalog of POWL? The requirement is that the result list should meet the selection/query criteria. Even the system has executed the mehod GET_FIELD_CATALOG in feeder class, the filed catalog still keep the the original look. I have to switch to other query and then reswith back, then the field catalog changed to the new one.

When you refresh the query, only then it goes to the method you have mentioned.
Also when you switch between the query, you have to do the refresh manually or there is personalization for query, On every visit of page, This option is avaible from 7.02 release.

I think that, it may cause the system to be slow. Actually my system (LINUX server Enterprise 3 ) has 1GB RAM.
There I am running DB 10g , Work flow server 2.6.3, OWB 10G, Oracle Middle ware (HTTP server, portals).
I don't know, why the systen is too slow?
Could you please give some suggestions to increase the performace.

I have created a Module Pool Program in which i have two containers to display the long text.
Initially this container is filled and based on some condition i want to update the text in the same conatiner.
I am using the below two classes to do all this.
cl_gui_textedit,
cl_gui_custom_container,
Could someone help me how to remove the long text in the container and update the new long text.
I am getting the new long text but not able display it in the same container. Please someone help me how to refresh and update the container.

How to refresh the ALV Control

I have a selection screen and ALV control in webdydnpro report. If i enter valid input values in the selection screen the ALV contol is diplaying datas correctly but when i enter invalid data in the selection screen the ALV table control values still diplaying in the previous datas. I need to Refresh the ALV contol values once the incorrect data enter in the selection screen. How can i REFRESH the ALV control in Webdynpro report. I have Refreh button in the Selection screen when you press REFRESH button the ALV table control data should be initilize Kindly help me out this issue.

Hi.
You have a selection screen where user can enter some data, with this data you
perform a selection and then you bind the result to the ALV, right?
Question is how you bind the result to ALV? Do you use external context mapping
or the set_data method ?
So I guess you have a method where you validate the select options and if they
are correct you perform the selction and bind the result to the node for the ALV. If
the select options are incorrect you just need to get the node for the ALV (which contains the
previous result )and call the invalidate method on that node which deletes all
elements of this node and after that the ALV should be empty again.

Scenario:
In main page, having an emp-table and popup(which contains taskflow as region). In taskflow, iam modifying the emp-table data and after successfully completion of taskflow, want to refresh the emp-table present in the main page. How can we do this...?
Note:
(1) In Taskflow last activity is 'taskflow-return', where iam commiting all the data.After this i want to refresh the emp-table,(pop-up closes when it reaches last activity).
(2) Tried PPR in bean code of main page, it refreshes, but before commiting.
Something like, Refreshing the entire page either closing/hiding of popup, will help......?
