How to register automatically to solution manager "SMSY"

Hi,
I am quite new in the solution manager, Please advise how can i register my others sap system to the solution manager "SMSY" so i no need to key in manually the data.
is that any document / link regarding this ?

Hi Filipe.
You do not need to maintain your system manually in SMSY. It will be a hard work if you need to update the SMSY every time you upgrade your system.
I will try to explains you how it works.
Firstly, you have to register your system to the Solman SLD.
For ABAP system it is done through the transaction RZ70 and for JAVA system it is done through the Visual Administrator, refer to the following link:

The managed system updates the SLD every day with all the system information which includes the software components.
In the Solution manager system the LANDSCAPE FETCH job runs everyday. This job gets the information from the SLD and updates the SMSY.
So, you have to ensure that this scenario is working in your systems.

How insert Enterprise portal in Solution Manager

Hi guys,
Can anyone explane me how can I insert an enterprise portal in Solution Manager?
I have execute this steps:
- transaction smsy
- landscape components -> Systems -> Create New System With Assistant
- Choose SAP Enterprise portal
After that I can see the Entreprise portal in smsy but I haven't inserted the ip of EP.
How can connect the E.P. with my solution manager?
I would configure the "System Monitoring" scenario for EP..

To have SolMan 7.0 EHp1 installed and than to install SAP EPC on top of this?
SAP EPC is based on NW, so is SolMan 7.0. But according to the SolMan 7.0 Master Guide EPC/EP is not listed as a available Usage Type

"newer version exist" in Solution Manager SMSY version 4.0

We do run Solution Manager version 4.0.
We have configured our D/Q and P Systems for SAP BW 3.5 (Netweaver)
When I goto Transaction SMSY there is always a yellow triangle for our BW Dev System which indicates "newer version exist".
Does anyone of you know how I can get rid of that warning?
Does this warning means that there is a newer version available? (SAP BI 7.0) or does thie warning indicate there there is a mismatch in my BW versions in the Solution Manager? Strange is also that BW Dev/Q and P match in terms of version in the Solution Manager nevertheless this warning is only visible for BW Dev environment.

Thank you for your valid input!
When I goto "Other Object" and Select my BW Dev System (SBD) and than goto "Installed Product Versions" it already has the SAP NeWeaber 2004 Product selcted. I can get rid of the yellow triangle when I remove the hook fromthe SBD System in "Leading Product". But the strange thing about this is that I do have this hook enabled in my BW Q and P System and all of them (D,Q and P) run on exactly the same version.
So now I got rid of the yellow triangle but this one little parameter is now different from D to Q and P.
any suggestions?

Is that RFC connection using both sites, trusted and satellite system ?

you need to install CCMS agents(sapccm4x, sapccmsr) on satellite systems & configure them with the central system(solman).

Solution Manager SMSY

This is a question on setting up BI systems in Solution manager transaction SMSY.
We have a BI landscape running on Netweaver 7.0 (ABAP+JAVA).
Under SMSY->SYstems, I have setup the systems under 'Product' SAP Netweaver and 'Product version' SAPNetweaver 7.0
But when setting up Logical Components I noticed that there is more granularity under SAP Netweaver->SAP Netweaver 7.0 -> 'Main Instnce'
where the options allow to choose 'Business Intelligence' but when I select this and configure the Logical component, I am unable to assign the created BI system to this logical componnet since I get a message 'No system found for this product/main instance'.
Because of this I had to create the Logical Component under SAP Netweaver->SAP Netweaver 7.0 ->Application Server ABAP and assign the systems.
Just wondering if this is the right way to go to setup a Netwevare (ABAP+JAVA) based BI systems in Sol Man 7.0.

Under SMSY->System-> Create New system-> Product 'SAP Netweaver' do you see an option to choose Business Intelligence ?
The only four options I see is
SAP Netweaver 7.1
SAP EHP1 FOR SAP Netweaver 7.1
SAP Netweaver 7.0
SAP Netweaver 04
However under Logical components I see an option to choose Business Intelligence under SAP Netweaver, but configuring the component here will not let you choose the systems created above under SAP Netweaver 7.0. This is my issue.
I am running Sol Man Ehp1 SPS20.

How to configure CTS+ for Solution Manager for XI 3.0

Hi ,
We are working on XI 3.0 SP 20 and Doing a file system based transport of .TPZ files. We observed that there is a possibilit of misssing the objects while tranporting. So we are planning to set CTS+ with our Solution Manager.
Question:
1. Can we configure CTS+ through the latest version of Solution Manager for XI 3.0 landscape?
If Yes .. How? If No... Why?
2. Is there any way to make the the transport automated like ABAP tranports.
If there is.... Please send the link or documents..

Thank you for the Demo. The Demo gives me information about the CTS+ setup. I am looking for the compatability of CTS+ for XI 3.0.
We have Solution Manager 7.1 setup in place.
Please let us know if we can setup CTS+ on solution Manager (7.01 EHP1) and use it to transport XI 3.0 SP20 IR/ID objects across the XI landscape.

How to Import Roadmaps into Solution Manager V7.0 EHP1.0

Hi All,
The latest ASAP implementation roadmap is currently;
ASAP Implementation V3.9 January 2009
However, when I go into our install SolMan (V7.0 EHP1.0 SP 19) the latest version I can see is ;
ASAP Implementation V3.8 January 2008.
My admin has informed me we are fully patched with all service packs applied and EHP applied.
How do I:
a.) Get a "install file" for the V3.9 roadmap?
b.) "Import" the Roadmap V3.9 into Solman?

Thanks for your reply. I have already been able to do this. The document you provided shows how to download the HTML version of the Roadmap and install to a local or network physical drive. I am after how to get the Roadmap I have mentioned into SAP Solution Manager so that I can select and use it on my projects.

There are two types of monitoring in Solution Manager.
1. System Monitoring.
2. Business Process Monitoring.
1st one monitor system performance and 2nd one monitor specific jobs or transactions related to important business step based on the configuration.
If you have access to the service market place, you can some information related to above topics.

The best resource for these procedures is http://service.sap.com/instguides. Every installation guide normally has a section near the end that describes the uninstall procedure. In a Windows environment, it is done through Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs. In a Unix environment, it is done using SAPINST.
The difference between Unicode and non-unicode during the installation is the check box that appears during the parameter entry. By default, it is normally checked to indicate that this will be a Unicode installation.

I want to monitoring 1 of the external system in the customer landscape. i have done installing saposcol and sapagent in this server.
but the i can't register this server in SMSY (Logical system) because always asking me to put installation number in the this system.
since this system is not sap system so i can't put installation number because not space to key in the installation number.
please advise ?

To enable ASMM, should I assign a non-zero size to the Memory_Target parameter or the SGA_Target ? I have read conflicting statements.

Solution Manager also works on a ABAP stack just like a R/3 system.
So, as long as you have a developer key on that system, you should be able to SE80, SE37, SE38 etc transactions.

How to register Certificate with Connection Manager

I guess I can just have the user manually run the batch file after he extracts the zip file.

So I'm using the Connection Manager Administration Kit to deploy settings clients can use to setup the Windows VPN at their homes. I'm using a Certificate for the SSTP that I got from GoDaddy. So I was testing the Connection Manager package that I created on a laptop we have here and it turns out the GoDaddy intermediate certificate is not in the cert store.. so I'm assuming the same thing will be true for people at home.So in CMAK I added the cert file (the cert is a p7b file) And I made a Custom Action to run certutil -addstore CA .\cert.p7bBut that didn't add the cert.So then I made a batch file to create a folder C:\certvpn and copy the cert there and run certutil.The batch files creates the folder but doesn't copy the file. I guess my problem is the batch file isnt' running from the folder that its in, and I will never know what...
