Hello,
I'm new with Hyperion and would like to ask something. I installed Hyperion Shared Services 9.3.1 in my desktop (inside consist of Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3, 1 GB RAM, Oracle Database 10g (10.2.0.1) Standard Edition, Oracle Application Server 10g).
I read from Hyperion Shared Services security guide in Chapter 3 about User Management Console that we can launch User Management Console in 3 ways:
1. Using a browser and connecting to the User Management Console URL
2. On Windows, navigating Start > All Programs > Hyperion > Foundation Services > User Management Console
3. From a Hyperion product interface
I tried to connect using URL : http://<localhost>/58080/interop and http://<localhost>/58080/interop/ and http://<localhost>/58080/interop/index.jsp but failed (where I changed <localhost> to my computer name). When I installed Shared Services, there are no point to choose port or create username.
There are no User Management Console in Foundation Services either.
How to start and stop Shared Services then and how do I know Shared Services has already run?

Registering Planning into Shared Services

Hi Experts,
I have installed EPMA 11.1.2.2 along with HSS and Planning. When I am trying to create a new Planning application, it says no data sources exists? From where can i create a data source ? Also I dont see Planning appearing in the HSS ? I thought the user that I have looged in into planning must have Planning privelages. But when I see the HSS , I dont see Planning in it. Please help.

Every Planning application requires individual Data source (you will need an RDBMS to create the data source and essbase server connection information), which you can create by Navigating to the following in Workspace
Once you are logged into Workspace - Go to the following.
Navigate --> Administer --> Planning Administration
Once Planning Administration is opened, browse to Manager Data Source. Once you have the Manager Data source open,
Click on Action --> Create and enter the Database details and the Essbase server details and validate it. Once you have the data source created, you can deploy 1 planning application against that data source.
For Provisions, check in shared service if you have the provision Application Creator which you can find under Foundation --> Shared Services --> EPMA Administrator.

Essbase not registering with Shared Services in 11.1.2.1

During configuration Essbase is is failing on Register with Shared Services. The configuration was pretty straight forward and all defaults. I ran the diagnostic tool and it came back with connection refused. Essbase is the first (other than Shared Services connection) that I have attempted to configure on this box
We are running an all Windows environment with four separate servers. Shared Services is running on a separate box, connection to the SQL server is working, passwords are correct, username is correct, database is correct, there are no firewalls in place and I can get to Shared Services and workspace, services are running...
Any ideas?

I do not have external user directories defined in Shared Services yet.... I cant even get into Shared Services because a "Failed to authenticate user. Invalid credentials." message. I checked my credentials and they cant be wrong cause I copied and pasted them.

You may or may not need to "register" the workflow - it depends on the changes that you made and which Item Type you modified. Some applications are essentially hard-coded to use a specific item type and process, some hard-coded to use an item type but you can configure the process to use, and some allow you to specify which item type and which process to use.
Without knowing exactly what you have done, though, there is no specific advice that anyone can give you here on what you need to do, apart from to ensure that you have saved the new definition to the database.

I was following a tutorial on ABAP and this centred on "Hello World" application. I got a message that I haven't been registered as a Developer on the system and that I need some code from OSS. I have tried checking here for any clues but it seemed none existed. Can't SAP be a bit more simplified like MS? It really requires lots of effort to get the right help and even at that, helps are not easily come by. I really which someone would point me in the right direction this time.
