Can't register new ipod classic in itunes

Hi, i am brandnew to ipod&itunes and my question is probably really simple but i am royally stuck...when i click on "device" to register my new ipod to itunes the window that opens is not big enough to actually see (or click) the "register now" button that must be there somewhere. There is no bar to slide and the little arrows do not make the window bigger. Also, i can not collapse the libary on the left side to make the window bigger...don't know what to do...any idea anybody??

Registering a new Ipod Classic

In trying to register a new ipod classic, the itunes window does not allow you to see to the right to finish the process. No matter what I try, I cannot get to the rest of the window to go to the next step (which is filling in the id number of the ipod)
The window simply won't expand!

Yes. Thats the issue. I cannot see the accept button on the user agreement screen. I have the menu on the left and the service agreement screen partially displayed on the right. I cannot expand or move the agreement screen in order to get to the accept button

How can I get films purchased from the iTunes store to work on my new iPod classic?

I have recently purchased a new iPod classic, everything works accept it will not play films. At first I thought it was a problem with the films I was trying to put on as they were from my computer; but after purchasing some films from iTunes it still keeps saying that they cannot be played on this device. Please help as I have spent money on films I otherwise cannot watch.
Any advice is welcome.

It sounds like you might be trying to sync HD videos to your iPod classic.
HD videos purchased from the iTunes Store are compatible with iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), Apple TV, and computers. You may need to download your purchased video from iTunes in the Cloud in a lower resolution for your device.

How cld I transfer my beloved music on Mac 10.3.9 to a new iPod Classic?

I have all the music stored on my Mac OS X 10.3.9. My old iPod broken and I bought a new 160GB iPod Classic. But the iPod Classic says it requires 10.4.8 and above. Does it mean I will never be able to copy out all the music I stored on my old Mac OS X 10.3.9 out to a new iPod at all? Or could I re-format the new iPod Classic?

Itunes won't sync to my brand new ipod classic. It says "The Ipod cannot be synced because it cannot be found.

I have been onto Apple by phone, and into the Apple store where both of them recomended that it gets replaced. I did, got a brand new ipod classic, and i still have the same problem.
I have attempted to restore, but it won't let me for the same reason.
On a couple of occations it starts to sync!! however it goes through practicly the whole syncing process (12,000 songs, heaps of videos) and then just freezes up! The little rainbow orb spins forever until i have to force quit.
I have had my old ipod and my partners ipod regestered and used on the one itunes with no complications whatsoever, our old ipods sync perfectly with no problems at all.
very frustrated.

or does it not like me having more than two ipods registered?
with the last new ipod which was replaced and the current new ipod that's a total of 4 ipods regestered on the one itunes
My partner has a Dell Laptop with Microsoft. I downloaded Itunes on there, ripped one cd, formatted the current new ipod, and it synced the one cd i ripped with no trouble at all.
Has anyone else had the same problem with their Ipod Classic?

Is iTunes up to date (10.7)? Have you tried plugging the iPod into a different USB or using a different USB cable?
I would recommend doing a disk diagnostic on the iPod's HD using the instructions given by turingtest2 in this older thread to check your Hard Drive's health. He always covers what the resulting numbers indicate.

New iPod Classic not recognised by Windows 8.1 or latest iTunes

I have a brand new iPod classic and have just made several playlists on iTunes.
As a sidenote, I am due to have a baby in one week and bought the iPod just for the hospital stay so I am getting extremely frustrated!
My computer is running Windows 8.1and recognises my iPhone and iPad Air but will not connect the iPod Classic.
When plugged in, it makes that little musical sound to say an item has been connected then nothing.
It does not register in 'My Computer' or on iTunes.
The iPod says "Connected. Eject before disconnecting". I don't get the iPod sad face or the exclamatuion mark.
I have reinstalled iTunes, the one time it registered the iPod was when I plugged in the iPad Air (iPod was no longer plugged in) and wanted me to restore the iPod, which it was still attempting to do 7 hours later (I did plug the iPod back in for this)!
Any suggestions would be super as I have now spent about 5 hours more on this than I would have liked to and about 10 hours more on this than I should have.

Brand new iPod classic 160 gb won't show up in iTunes devices. The iPod is fully charged, iTunes reckonises my iPod touch, iPad, iPhone 3G and iPhone 4, but not the iPod classic, although it says the iPod is connected it doesn't register in iTunes.

I purchased a new iPod Classic 160 GB in August 2013 and it (the iPod Classic device) would not show in iTunes though it did show in the Apple Finder. I tried EVERYTHING numerous times including resetting the iPod, updating iTunes and trying everything in the book and in on-line tips. Nothing worked and I was about to give up when I tried using the Apple iPod Classic cable that actually came in the iPod Classic box. It worked!!! Conclusion? Dont just use any old Apple cable eg. from a iPhone or whatever; TRY the USB cable that came with your iPod Classic!!! I have 2009 iMac with the latest Mac OS BTW.

I have just purchased a new Ipod Classic. There are 800 songs in my Itunes library that are not syncing to the new Ipod. There were no problems with my old Ipod 5th Gen.
The songs that are not syncing are songs that I have loaded into Itunes from my own CDs.
Does anybody know why or how to fix this problem.
I am not manually syncing, I have told Itunes that I want to sync all songs with this new Ipod.

This is Apple's brilliant new marketing scheme: we'll make all our new iPods NON compatible with older OSX's - then, oh my god! People will be forced to pay for an OS upgrade. Just another example of how Apple loooves to wow us with their sleek functioning products, then hit a us with a curveball (machines die the day your warranty is up, items not compatible) and hope we will still be wowed by their products. My iPod died after a hearty 2 years of service (NOT long enough after having spent $300 on it), I go out to buy a new itouch, and what do you know - not compatible with my itunes. If you are using automatic syncing with your old iPod, select that iPod in iTunes and go to its Music tab (next to Summary). Note how this Music tab is set up. Maybe you can do a screen shot.
Now, select the new iPod in iTunes. Go to its Music tab, like you did for the old iPod. Set up the new iPod's Music tab exactly like the old iPod, and Apply the change.
The music on your new iPod should now match the old iPod.

Connecting new iPod Classic to a TV

Hi! I am hoping that someone can help me. I am somewhat new to this whole mp3 thing. I did get my 9yr old daughter an iPod nano for Christmas and have been helping her set hers up, but that's pretty much the extent of my experience. So, please forgive my ignorance.
I am thinking about getting myself a new 80gb iPod classic. I would like to be able to easily hook it up to various TV's to watch downloaded movies. As I believe that composite hook-ups are the most universal, I'm thinking that composite cables would be the way to go. However, after researching this for the past couple of hours, I think I am more confused than I was before. If I am understanding this correctly, with the new iPod classics, you have to purchase special $50 Apple cables if you want to watch your videos on a TV. And then there is a $50 dock that is available that I can't really figure out what it does. Is the dock necessary? Do I need both the cable and the dock? Is there anything else I would have to buy? Is there a better and/or cheaper way to achieve this? I would really like to know before I spend $250 on the iPod how much more money I am going to have to spend in order to watch downloaded movies on the TV. Any help/advice at all would be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately for both of us the $50 cables are required for the use of an iPod classic on the TV. I got on the chat with one of the apple professionals to ask this question because I have purchased $10 cable that I thought would connect my iPod to the TV for the purpose of viewing videos, to my surprise all I was able to achieve was sound. After messing with the video settings it was all still to no avail. As far as the Dock...it's not required for use with your TV, the cables will do just fine, and I've not looked into what the dock does myself.

You will need to sync your music via your computer's iTunes, you can't connect an iPod to an iPad for copying music. If you don't have the music on your computer's iTunes then you should be able to copy music purchased from iTunes from the iPod via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. For music from other sources (e.g. copied from CDs) then if you don't have it on your computer nor on a backup then there are some programs listed half-way down this page which should be able to copy them back from your iPod : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
