How to register your iPod Touch on your PC after reformating

I just recently did a full recovery on my PC and now I want to add more songs. But it says it's registered to another PC or something. How do switch it over without losing my songs because it's asking me to do a format on my ipod touch. Is there a way to back up my songs?

Hey there,
Sorry about that. I had the wrong program. Try this one instead. Should be 100% free. Hope this helps more.

How do you connect an iPod touch to your Vista computer without using any Apple products

There is no other legit way to sync your iPod than using iTunes. There is 3rd party software to transfer content from the iPod to your computer, but not from the computer to your iPod.
    Disk mode is not supported.

  • HT4623 How would you update your iPod Touch using your iPod touch?

I want to update the software on my iPod Touch 4th Generation from my iPod Touch itself. I can't figure out how to do it, though. In the past, it has just asked me to update, but now, it doesn't do that. Anyone with any information on how to update your iPod touch software, it would be greatly appreciated if you shared your knowledge with me. Thanks so much!(:

    See:
iOS: How to update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the iPad already has iOS you can go to Settings>gener>wifi update and update via wifi. Otherwise yu will have to connect to iTunes and update via iTunes.
The current iOS is iOS 6.

  • Is it normal when you closed your ipod touch and your theme song is gone?

Is it normal when you closed your _ipod touch 2nd generation_ and your theme song is gone? What I mean is that when I listened to this certain song and I closed the ipod and I opened the ipod up again, and go to "music" to listen to the song that I just listen, the "Now Playing" page is not coming up no more. Instead, the whole music's page come up. I'm just wondering if this is normal for the ipod touch? Or there is something wrong with mine? If it not normal for the ipod touch to be this way, anybody know how to fix it? Your help would be really appreciated.

yes, this is normal behaviour - at least for the 1st Gen, and i can't see any logical idea why it wouldn't - (presumably as when you turn your ipod off, it thinks you are finished with it.) BUT if you just put your ipod into sleep mode, it will remember the song (you will have to pause it, otherwise it will continue playing)

  • If you lost your ipod touch does your one year limited warranty give you a new one?

i lost my ipod touch an hour ago. ive tried finding it with the locator but since it's offline it hasnt been of much help. ive come to the conclusion that somebody stole it because i lost it in class. so does my one year limited warranty cover a stolen/lost ipod?

No.  The warranty only covers manufacturing defects.
Lost/stolen devices are not covered, nor are devices with physical damage.

I recently reset my ipod touch so I could sell it. It seemed to reset fine but now will not allow any software updates. It currently has 2.1 and gives an error message when trying to update saying there is a hardware problem.

What is the exact wording of the erro message?

  • How do you transfer music from your ipod touch to the new Itunes?

How do you transfer music from your Ipod touch to the new Itunes?

The music sync is one way - computer to ipod.  the only exception is ituens purchases.
You need to copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

  • I bought a brand new ipod touch 5th gen, updated the software and now iTunes says "to allow access, please respond on your ipod touch" however the ipod has a black screen and pressing the buttons does nothing. how do i fix this?

As the title says, this is a brand new iPod touch bought from a store, I plugged it in a commenced the "setting up" process through iTunes on may iMac. It got to the stage where it said allow this computer to access the device (or something along those lines), i clicked yes, and then a message came up "to allow access, please respond on your iPod touch. however the ipod screen is black, and pressing the buttons doesn't work. How can i fix this? or do I need to return it?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Go to Settings>Notifications and turn alerts/sounds on for the app(s) in question.  Not all apps have all options.

  • How can you get your ipod touch open when you forgot the password and its disabled and not connected to wifi

How can you get your iPod touch open when you forgot the password and its disabled and not connected to the Internet Connection and you don't want to reset it.

    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

How do you get your tunes and voice recordings from your iPod Touch into iTunes on a new computer if you don't have Mobile Me?
iTunes on tmy new computer shows none of my data and I fear if I sync my iPod with the computer all will be deleted on the iPod.

  • How do you update and back up your ipod touch 4 to ios 5?

So I really want to update my ipod touch 4 to ios 5, as it has many new features. The problem is, i am afraid to because i am worried that all my apps, music, and pictures will get deleted. I know many people say to back it up, but when you back it up, do you press update and then does all your data get saved? If not what do you have to do. I read so many answers on how to back up and update but im still in doubt. Also, the songs on my ipod are not from my itunes, they are from my cousins, so do i have to back up on her pc? I just want a very simple step by step process on how to update and back up your ipod,(keeping all apps, music, and pictures) the safe and secure way. Thank you, anything will help.

Apple has stopped signing iOS 5 firmware. The latest version available for your iPod is 6.1.3. You must first backup your iPod then press Check for Update. Backing up will save all of your data on the iPod Touch and your sync options. And no, you can backup on your PC, press Sync and allow iTunes to transfer purchases and copy them to your iTunes library. If your iTunes library does not contain the music on your iPod, I recommend trying to drag it to your library from your iPod. And make sure you are running the latest version of iTunes. When the update finishes, restore your iPod from the backup you made. And to save pictures from your Camera Roll, go into My Computer and open the iPod and copy the pictures to your computer.
