How to reinstall (1st failed) SP4 udpate on same machine

Dear All, We are on BOBI 4.1 SP2 and we are updating to SP4. This is imp as we want to integrate recent sharepoint server. We are on SUSE linux. We got the tar files on shared location on Linux. This shared location is available on both Linux and HP machines. Now SAP team untar Linux Install files by logging into HP and untar from there. untar from HP for Linux did not work well. Some files are copied with missing extension i.e. .z instead of .zip. We started the install but it failed as it was looking for assembly.zip file and we had assembly.z file in /<Install>/InstallData/InstallCache directory.
We came to know this and now we untar files using Linux server. Now we see the files with correct extensions. We started the SP4 update from this new location but this failed again. Installer will skip the files which were previously copied and start from next steps. Files previous copied in installCache folder is wrong files.
Now we are stuck. We don't know how to force installer to recopy all the files it previously copied. It always uses the old files which are corrupt.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

rename the InstallCache Folder, manually create an InstallCache Folder, check that the permissions of the newly created InstallCache Folder are correct and retry.

I think that is impossible because the Osoft is unique and the COM+ is unique too. For the IIS and SQL I know that you can have more than one instance, but those two I know I can't.
Please, can someone confirm this?.

As per Nilanjan's post, I also don't understand why you want to do this,
Do you want to install 2 different instances of SAP BPC on the same Windows server or possibly two seperate virtual servers on a physical host ?
but none the less, in theory you can do it.
You will need to create two different websites in IIS and when you do the installation make sure that you select the correct IIS web site, so that it doesnt attempt to recreate the virtual directory on the same IIS web site again during the second installation

How to install iFS and iAS on the same machine?

I have successfully installed iFS on a Windows NT 4 machine. Now, I would like to install iAS Enterprise Edition on the same machine. The installation guide for iAS says that I should first deinstall all products from the default ORACLE_HOME. I have not found a clue as to what to do if I want to keep the software already installed.
Would it work if I tried (after installing iAS) re-install iFS using different ORACLE_HOME directory?
Is there a white paper or any other document that would clear up the issues involved in installing Oracle products in ORACLE_HOME?

You can install IAS on the same machine that Oracle and IFS are on. Install IAS into a new Oracle Home (i.e. D:\IAS).
This worked for me.
I am still waiting to hear how (look for my post about 20 below yours) how to configure IFS to use the Apache Web Server that is part of IAS.

How to reinstall on client from Lion Server Time Machine backup?

I have a Mac Mini running Lion Server and a black MacBook running Lion. I recently needed to to perform a format and reinstall of the MacBook, so I used the MacBook's Recovery HD partition and reinstalled Lion. I then went back to Recovery HD to reinstall apps from my Time Machine backup' which is managed by the Lion Server Mac Mini. On first attempt, I saw the right files, but in the process it hung. I recently tried to do it again, and now it claims that there are no backups found.
My suspicion is that as this is a Lion Server managed backup, it bundles the server backup and the MacBook backup in the same bundle. Revovery HD looks for the latest compete bundle, then finds the matching backup for the MacBook. However, if the Mini is continuing backups of its own, the more recent bundle backups only have mini info, not the MackBook, hence they "disappeared".
I can see older backups when I look at the backup drive, so I suspect that my MacBook files are still there.
Any suggestions on how to recover and get my MacBook files reinstalled? I'm new to this home server thing, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

I installed BEA portal 9.2 a while back. Now I also installed AquaLogic Service Bus 2.6.
How can I configure one of them so that workshop refers to one type of domain at a time.
As of now, first installed version seems to take precedence.

How to get rid of multiple instance of same machine

Hi, I have an issue with my MacPro as I have multiple instance of the same computer. Let me explain : My machine appears as MacPro. but sometime it connect as MacPro (2), or MacPro (3) and so on... I now have MacPro (11). This happens when I get problem with my network... it reconnect the machine with a new name... Big deal you'll tell me... let it be that way and carry on... But Here is where I have a problem : Third party application such as SpeedDownload see all those Instance as Multiples machines and now it won't open because it tells me that I only have a licence for one computer and that the software is installed on multiple computers as MacPro, MacPro (2), MacPro (3), ... and MacPro (11).
Is there a way I could get rid of all the other "Instances" and only keep on machine which would be MacPro?

How to I enable other users on the same machine to use Office products?

My husband has the system set up so the kids accounts are secured by NetNanny.
We noticed tonight that the kids can't use Word, Excel or Powerpoint from their accounts.
You can only see it in my account. You can't see it in my husband's Administrator account.
How do we change this? We'd like all users to be able to use the Office products.

I figured it out. The other users had only read access to the programs. Had to change it to read/write.

How to share iPhoto with other accounts in same machine

What version of iPhoto do you have?
The easiest and most reliable method is to move the Library to an external Hard Disk and point her iPhoto and yours at it.
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
5. Then, in each account, Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and select the Library on the External.
Remember only one person can open the Library at a time.

first install red5 ( by default it uses port 1935 obviously )
then let say wowza , with installation choose port 1936 ( make sure you open this port )- you app will run on rtmp://your-ip/domain.com:1936
then fms - choose port 1937 ( here again make sure you open this port too ) - rtmp://your-ip/domain.com:1937

is it possible to run 2 weblogic instance in the same machine ?
I have created 2 domains ...domain-1 and domain-2 in my hard disk and both of them have startWeblogic.cmd in them..
but i cant run them simultaneously though individually they run.
they differ by HTTP port and Debug port but still they dont run simultaneously

yea...i thought about it .
but as both of them are same application and they are using the same DB connection pool , JMS queue ....i just dont want to mix all these.
so i have created two seperate domian . and i run them individually and they work fine.
However , they are having different ports though .
But when i run the second one while the first one is running ....the second one does not starts up

First, are you sure you want to have separate ports? Normally, you would just run a single listener and register all the databases on the system with that listener.
If you do want to run multiple listeners, the listener.ora file specifies the port to listen on.

You have to install Forms6i on a different Oracle_Home not Default_Home, which I believe is where you installed Oracle8i.

It is possible to run multiple RMI servers as long as the port is different. For instance if you run the RMI daemon using port 2700:
rmid -port 2700and RMI daemon using port 2800:
rmid -port 2800You will see these ports open if you do an nmap or netstat -aMake sure you bind your separate RMI instances on separate ports when calling Naming.bind()Anthony

I wanted editing a photo from lightroom to elements but lightroom did not open elements. Your site said first to reinstall Elements before to try more comlicated things.
