How to reinstall audit system?

I have ASE 12.5 without audit installed. Then some one try to install it before: 2 databases created: aud_db and sybsecurity, but the installation not completed or failed, the 2 dbs are empty db without any table. I want to reinstall syb audit and want to reuse the existing dbs created before. it will override the dbs or need to remove them before reinstall?

all/all/all is not a valid set of parameters (see the source for sp_audit for a detailed analysis of valid tuples).
If you want to enable all auditing options then you'll have to loop through a list of logins and/or role names and issue: sp_audit 'all',<login_or_role_name>,'all',<desired_setting>
Keep in mind that in a real/live dataserver you are not going to want to enable all auditing options for all logins/roles, otherwise you could easily bring your dataserver to its knees with all the overhead processing required to capture the huge volume of audited operations.

  • How to reinstall Audition 3.0 in Windows 7?

    Hi,
I have a multiple seat licence of Adobe Audition 3.0.
When I installed this adobe audition 3.0 software on Windows 7 (32 bit), the wrong code was entered.
Usually, when running Windows XP, I completely uninstall, reboot, reinstall, and we get the option of entering a licence key.
This process is not working for Windows 7 however. I reinstall the software, but do not get the option to enter a licence key. It tells me to buy the full software, and a "buy" link which opens the adobe website. There is no option to enter a valid code.
How should I go about entering a valid code, and re install the software properly on Windows 7?
    Thanks,
    Graham

Adobe provide a Cleaner Tool for solving these kinds of issues.  It is intended for Creative Suite, but it may well remove whatever is blocking your Audition re-install.  It is available here:
    http://http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html?promoid=GYTAU
This is the latest version, but as you will see from the download page it is valid for CS3 too.  The main problem with using this is that it will remove ALL software which is part of Creative Suite, though as you can split the clean between CS versions, later versions of other software should survive if you select CS3.
I have just used this to solve a re-install problem with Premiere CS5.5.  It removed Photoshop CS5 as well as cleaning up for Premiere, but not Audition CS3.  If I had selected CS3, I guess Premiere and Photoshop would have survived and Audition would have been cleaned.

  • How to reinstall my system only?

My system crashed and I want reinstal it. I have 4 partitions on my HDD
    /boot
    /root

    swap
I want reinstal /root only, need /home stay without changes. How to do it safety?

at installation don't choose to format that partition, and you'll have just to specify the file system. i recommend cleaning the "trash" in your home directory before re-installing, eg. .local,.cache,.gimp2,gnome2,.kde4,etc. sometimes is better to start with defaults.

Hi all, I have two machines bootable with OSX and OS9

I got the system disks stolen while travelling. Any Panther or Tiger will install easily in the OSXC partitions I have, the machines, there is some kind of soft lock preventing the regular OS9 system Software disks to install in the OS9 parts of the my drives- So I am now unable to reinstal and booth from system 9.
I tried it all partioning the HD, leaving it as is .... but nothing happens. As soon as I insert any System 9 install disk the computer rejects it telling me is not for that machine, and booting from CD is not happening either with a similar message.

    Hi, Dante!
I have no idea what your unpublished comment was concerning ethics, support, or whatever, but this is a user forum which largely consists of people from all around the world who are citizens of many countries. As such, it's really not a soap box for attacking the ethics or morality of fellow members, their countries, their backgrounds, or their beliefs. The folks who responded to your inquiry did so both voluntarily and for your benefit, while trying to consider your best interests. Responding by inferring that the people who earnestly offered to assist you lack ethics in their standard view of things indeed strikes me as an undeserved insult of them.
That being said, perhaps one of the following approaches might work better for you, while sparing you from having to deal with any allegedly unethical peoples of one nation or another:
You might just file a police report and wait for your local police to find and return the missing discs.
Alternately, you might consider publishing a public appeal to the morality of person that took them, particularly if they were stolen in an "ethical" country during your travels.
You could also file a claim with your insurance company and use your reimbursement to buy replacement discs or maybe even flags to burn.

You need the Restore CD's that came with the iBook.
If you are unable to obtain them from Apple there, you may need to call Apple Customer Relations in California and see if they can send you the CD's. If they have them available, they usually will send them to you (for a fee).
The number there is (408) 996-1010. Call between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Pacific Time, and be sure to ask for Customer Relations.
Once you have the CD's, a link to the procedure can be found in this Apple Knowledge Base article:

    Good luck.

how to reinstall the system from time machine to a new hard drive?

If you are connected to the internet you can do this.
Boot your computer and immediately hold down command, option and R  (three keys together). This gets you connected with internet recovery.
See this article for more directions: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718.
This process installs an OS on your blank drive. You can then boot from the fresh OS installation and restore from your Time Machine back up.
Note that you cannot boot from a TM back up.

  • How to implement an audit system to track ADF applications DML activity?

We have implemented a complete audit system for one of our databases in order to keep history for every table and every value that has been modified.
The solution that we currently have can be split into two discrete parts:
    1. Keeping a record of all connections to the db account
This is achieved via a table ‘user_sessions’ into which we record data for every session in the database with the help of on-logon and on-logoff triggers and some PL/SQL procedures:
    Column name        |  Explanation
    -------------------|-------------------------------------------
    US_ID              | PK, based on a sequence
    SESSION_ID         | sys_context('USERENV' ,'SESSIONID')
    USER_NAME          | sys_context('USERENV' ,'OS_USER')
    LOGON_TIME         | when the on-logon trigger fires
    LOGOFF_TIME        | when the on-logoff trigger fires
    USER_SCHEMA        | sys_context('USERENV' ,'SESSION_USER')
    IP_ADDRESS         | sys_context('USERENV' ,'IP_ADDRESS')
    us_id |session_id |user_name|user_sschema|ip_address|logon_time               |logoff_time
    560066|8498062       |BOB      |ABD         |1.1.1.2   |14-SEP-06 03.51.52.000000|14-SEP-06 03.52.30.000000
560065|8498061       |ALICE    |ABC         |1.1.1.1   |14-SEP-06 02.45.31.000000|14-SEP-06 04.22.43.0000002. Keeping the history of every change of data made by a given user
For every table in the account there is a corresponding history table with all of the columns of the original table plus columns to denote the type of the operation (Insert, Delete, Update), start and end time of validity for this record (createtime, retiretime) and us_id (which points to the user_sessions table).
The original table has triggers, which fire if there is an insert, update or delete and they insert the data into the corresponding history table. For every record inserted into a history table the us_id taken from the user_sessions table is recorded as well, allowing us to determine who has modified what data via the combination of these two tables.
Below is an example of a table TASKS, the history related triggers and the history table TASKS_HIST.
At the moment we are developing new applications by using ADF. Since there is an Application Module Pool and Database Connection Pool implemented for the ADF, one connection to the database could be used by several users at different moments of time. In that case the history records will point to a database session logged into the user_sessions table, but we will not know who actually modified the data.
Could you, please, give us a suggestion, how we can know at any moment of time who (which of our users currently making use of an ADF application) is using a given database connection?
By way of an example of the problem we are facing, here is how we solved the same problem posed by the use of Oracle Forms applications.
When the user starts to work with a given Forms application, user_sessions table would attempt to record the relevant information about he user, but since the db session was created by the application server, would in actual fact record the username and ip address of the application server itself.
The problem was easy to solve due to the fact that there is no connection pooling and when a user opens their browser to work with Forms applications, a db connection is opened for the duration of their session (until they close their browser window).
In that case, the moment when the user is authenticated (they log in), there is a PL/SQL procedure called from the login Form, which updates the record in the user_sessions table with the real login name and ip address of the user.
Example of a table and its ‘shadow’ history table
    CREATE TABLE TASKS (
         TASKNAME     VARCHAR2(40),
         DESCRIPTION  VARCHAR2(80)
    ALTER TABLE TASKS ADD (
         CONSTRAINT TASKS_PK PRIMARY KEY (TASKNAME));
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER TASKS_HISTSTMP
BEFORE INSERT OR UPDATE OR DELETE ON TASKS
       BEGIN
         HISTORY.SET_OPERATION_TIME('TASKS');
       EXCEPTION
         WHEN OTHERS THEN
           ERROR.REPORT_AND_GO;
    END TASKS_HISTSTMP;
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER TASKS_WHIST
AFTER INSERT OR UPDATE OR DELETE ON TASKS
      FOR EACH ROW
      BEGIN
    CASE
          WHEN INSERTING THEN

I checked the site that you mentioned.
I try the sample “demo with bundle. The sample worked.
But it needed to start separately with the application.

Could you help me step by step to build the help system?

  • With Lion, How Can I Erase the Hard Drive and Reinstall The System Software?

I plan on buying a used iMac with a Core 2 Duo so that I can run Lion.  Since Lion can only be purchased at the Mac App store what if I needed to erase my hard drive and re-install the system software.  How can I do this without a DVD with the OS on it like I have for Snow Leapard.  I suppose that I could boot from my Snow Leapard DVD and do the erase.  Then, I supposed I would be able to download Lion again from the Mac App Store without paying for it again.  But, how would you erase a hard drive and reinstall the system software when purchasing a new Mac with Lion already installed and no DVD at all with the OS on it?
    -- Kaydell

When someone purchases any Apple computer with a DVD Drive, they should have recieved two DVDs... One contains the Operating System (up to Snow Leopard, Lion no longer ships on DVD) and the other contains the SYSTEM SOFTWARE (i.e. iLife and iWork). To install the software, they just insert the DVD with the SYSTEM SOFTWARE into any compatible Mac and run the installer. There is no need to erase the hard drive to install SYSTEM SOFTWARE. Maybe a friend can let you borrow the SYSTEM SOFTWARE DVD. The other option is to purchase the software via the App Store.
FYI... App Store purchases are linked to the PURCHASER'S APPLE ID. So if you buy a used Mac from a friend and that Mac already has Lion installed on it,that Lion purchase is linked to YOUR FRIEND'S APPLE ID, not yours. So if you want to download Lion again, you will have to enter your FRIEND'S APPLE ID AND PASSWORD. You can always have your friend re-download Lion and make you a DVD copy.

  • Need to reinstall my system, how do I backup iPhoto library?

I have a very large iPhoto library and now need to reinstall my system. I dodn't want to loose the library but how can I make a save backup that I can import later again?

Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. The disk should be formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled) This will make a copy on that disk.
Test this to make sure it works. Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and open the copied Library.
Really, the amazing thing is that you say you have a "very large library" and claim you don't want to lose it but you don't already have a back up?
