How to reinstall bridge CS2

My computer went down last week and I had to get a new hard drive. I made a mess trying to put everything back on the new hard drive. I had to reinstall Photoshop and ImageReady from the disk. As I am having trouble with Bridge I would like to reinstall that as well. I have thrown away the Bridge folder, however I do not see where on the CD I can reinstall Bridge? I have Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium and run Mac 10.4.

Unfortunately, you can't install Bridge by itself.

  • How to reinstall Bridge CS6?

After severe trouble with Bridge CS6 (did not start up anymore) I decided to uninstall and reinstall it to get rid of the problems.
But, how can I reinstall Bridge since it is not listed in the Apllication Manager?

not as easy as most mac programs (with the drag and drop into trash option).
Only simple applications can be done so but then all other info written to libraries like prefs and presets are still on your machine.
Since you are both on a Mac can you both specify your machine (type, RAM, free disk space left and OS version)
    To clarify
I'm on a MacPro with 32 GB RAM and SSD having always at least 25 % free and a separate scratch disk for PS dedicated.
Using 10.8.3 I have CS6 via Creative Cloud and also Indesign, Illustrator and Premiere Pro and Acrobat Pro installed without any problems.
You can uninstall using the official uninstallers that are either in the parent application folders or in the Utilities folder / Adobe installers, inhere are all uninstallers.
Once thing have been messed up the fastest way is to back up all important settings (presets, keywords, actions and all other customized settings and third party plug ins)
Then use the uninstallers combined with deleting prefs and use the Adobe Cleaner tool (read the instruction before starting to uninstall) The clean tool removes most preferences and settings left but there will be still some files left on your system.
Mostly user library preferences and application support.
You can check your self or use 'easy find' (free search engine from Devon) to get other left overs from Adobe visible.
Then do system maintenance with check and repair disk permissions and finally install CS6 again.

  • Xap rating metadata lightroom bridge cs2

Is there anyone out there who can tell me why the xap metadata is written so differently in lightroom jpegs as compared to bridge CS2?
I've had writtena feature on my dynamic gallery on my website that reads the xap rating in bridge-produced jpegs, but doesn't work with lightroom produced ones. When I read the metadata from the 2, the structure was totally different. I dont suppose anyone from the development team would care to tell us how lightroom and bridge CS2 read the different xap structures - it would give me a clue how to re-write the function on my website.
Also are there plans to make the current structure standard? Does bridge CS3 for instance produce jpegs with the same structure in the metadata?
    Thanks!

Yup, Bridge is just a Browser. ACR and Photoshop do the work.

  • How to reinstall CS5 if I can't reactivate CS2?

    Question as above title...

I had to format the hard drive, and lost my Photoshop program.  The  CS5 is
an upgrade, and requires CS2 to be present.  CS2 can no longer be
activated at Adobe, so my CS5 won't load.

  • How can I fix problems with Bridge CS2 for Mac.

How can I upgrade Bridge CS2 version 1.0.0.545 to Bridge CS2 version 1.0.3. The Installer says that I have a newer version installed. I am running a special version Photoshop CS2. When I launch Bridge CS2 v.1.0.0.545, I get a window saying that "Sorry, a serious error has been detected."  This software stays open after clicking the OK button. Please help!

Spent a long time on phone with Apple tech support on this.  Here's what users all need to know:  it's likely the car manufacturer who needs to upgrade the vehicle software.  Pairing problems can happen whenever a phone is upgraded.  Now to find a dealer that's open after work!

  • How to Uninstall / Reinstall Bridge as part of CS3 Master Collection?

Bridge is not in my Add/Remove programs. It is not listed as an item that I can uninstall or reinstall in the Master Collection setup program. I want to reinstall Bridge. It is pretty much unusable on my XP64 system since the last upgrade. But how can I reinstall it?

Well, Adobe may not want to call it a separate program, but from most litmus tests that I can think of, Bridge sure looks and acts like separate program.
My Bridge would start up no problem. And I had been changing the settings to find anything that might work. But what I had not done, until last night, was to go into the Camera RAW Preferences and change anything. I did this last night. I changed the location of the cache here and changed its size from 1GB to 8GB. This has appeared to have helped quite a bit. Bridge is still a tad sluggish (on a very fast machine with 8 logical processors and 8GB or ram), but it is usable again.
So one follow-up question is what is the difference between the "camera RAW Preferences" cache and the "Preferences" Cache?
My next follow-up question is why does Bridge say that it is finished loading thumbnails (via progress bar) for a particular folder only to restart later or on subsequent returns to the folder even after no changes have been made? This drives me crazy. Just when you think that its finished and you can have your CPU's back, it starts up again and hogs your processing power.

    More to add.
I went to find the log of the Cleaner tool to see if I could find out what went wrong.  I got this information on the "crash".  Can anyone tell me what it means?

  • How to uninstall Bridge to do a clean install?

How best should I uninstall Bridge (CS2) and all the other Adobe applications that might have anything to do with Bridge so that I can make a completely new clean install?
I have Photoshop CS2 (with ImageReady CS2) and InDesign CS2.
Separately I have Adobe Lightroom 2.3 but that does not use Bridge at all as far as I know. It even uses a different Camera Raw version.
Thanks for the assistance. I am trying to fix a problem where Bridge will not show me any thumbnails except a bunch of white boxes that are not even the correct number of thumbnails for the folder I am trying to display.
I asked a separate question about white thumbnails with no solutions be found.

    Hi John,
Tried all that - no luck in getting it fixed as the other discussion mentions.
Need to get rid of everything Bridge related so that I get a good fresh clean install. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop trying to get this fixed but to no avail, so thinking I need to really wipe out everything to do with CS2.  Photoshop and Bridge worked for several years, then something happened - probably having to do with the reinstalll of Win XP.
    Thanks for your reply.

I thought that might be the case.
So your best bet as you say is to uninstall normally from the Control Panel and then manually remove all files and folders related to CS2.
Remember this is not just in C:\Program files
    but also in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\9.0
    and possibly C:\Program Files\Common Files.
I would then run a registry cleaner like CCleaner: http://www.ccleaner.com/

  • Conflict Between Aperture and Photoshop/Bridge CS2?

Recently, I noticed a problem in Photoshop/Bridge CS2, that I think may be caused by Aperture.
I shoot D2x .nef's that are fully supported by both programs.
    Here's what's happening.
If I go into Bridge and go into a folder of images, some show up as images and others as generic .nef icons. They cannot be opened by either Bridge or ACR. Everything in the CS2 Suite is up-to-date.
After purging all the Bridge caches, and finally reinstalling the entire CS2 suite, I noticed something:
The files that were not working in ACR or Bridge were files that I had played with in Aperture. They are in my Aperture library (wherever that is).
Is there any way that this can be the problem I am trying to solve? If so, how do I get Aperture to "let go of them"? To forget it ever touched them?
I love Aperture, am loyal to Apple, am not unhappy that I invested in this program and am sure it will improve. But, I really need to be able to use all of my images in ACR. Right now, that is my priority.
Thanks in advance for suggestions and help.

    Dual G5 2.5, 12"PB   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

I'm not sure I know enough to answer the question.
The images are on my G5 on a second internal hard drive (not the boot drive).
They are in a folder with a lot of images from the same shoot.
That folder shows up in the Library in Aperture, also. I think I imported them. But, as best I can tell, they do not "only exist in Aperture" because I can see them, and their .xmp files in the original file on the second internal hard drive.
Thank you so much for trying to help.

  • I need to just reinstall Bridge?

I recently removed some trial software off my computer, but for some reason or another it took Bridge with it. It was the version of Bridge that came with Illustrator and Photoshop CS2.
Can I just use the CD and reinstall Bridge?
or is there something else I should do?
    Thanks

Just reinstall from disk should work.

What did you do with "all the raw updates"?
You only need one and it must be in the correct folder (which is not where you might think!)
More than one copy will almost certainly mess things up.

  • Keyword Exchange between Bridge CS2 and Lightroom

    Hello,
I was was using bridge CS2 to sort my pics with keywords and EXIF and now switched to lightroom. When I imported the pics everything was OK, data were taken over. When I now use bridge to add new keywords they are not recognized in lightroom and vice versa. Since I want to use both programs in the future how can I "synchronize" data like keywords or EXIF ...
I would be VERY glad if someone could help!!
    Kind regards from Germany
    Stephan

Yes, but as far as I understand this feature exports/imports all your keywords in a list but not the assingments you made to a photo. For example if I have a photo in bridge with people whose names were newly assigned as keywords. Now I open LR but nothing has changed to the keywords of that picture. So what can I do to synchronize the keywords of the pics (newly assigned/added keywords in bridge to LR or vice versa)?
