I don't understand the question exactly, could you restate it. Sorry mate, I might just be braindead.
But, as far as the issue, it is by design. the column is a lookup columns which essentially ties to the external data. if that data is removed, the column on your simple list becomes invalid and any edits of the simple list item will require
it to be changed.
are you wanting to make the ECT read only? that's simple enough. you can pop open SPD and edit the ECT, then remove the C/E/D operations (create/update/delete). That will not, however make it read-only in any other systems that access that
external data, as I assume its not just SP or else it wouldn't be external

Try disabling your firewall and antivirus software and see if that helps - if you are trying to update using iTunes on your computer.

You can middle-click or Ctrl left-click the Home button on the Navigation toolbar to open the Home page in a new tab.

It's a bit hit and miss, Walter. Sometimes the box to enter text shows up straight away in the inspector under "text". Other times, although you click "text" in the inspector, there's nowhere to actually write anything.... then what you have to do is move the trackbar over the Title Box until you see the text boxes in the main Viewer. In the Viewer, double click a text box.... you can enter text there, but it's a bit flaky, but when you've clicked in it, you'll find that under "Text" in the inspector, the box for inputting text has magically appeared!
I'm not sure if anyone else has this trouble, but it is a bit of a pain!

Form won't distribute. Here's the error and everything I've tried so far. Hope you can help

I've seen at least 2 similar posts on the web, but they ended with no answer. After creating my form with LiveCycle Designer, saving as pdf, and hitting "DISTRIBUTE", I get this error:
"The filename you specified is not valid because it does not include a .pdf extension, contains one or more invalid characters, or the path preceding it refers to a protected system location."
So I've done all of the following, many of which were recommended in the other 2 posts, but similarly, have reached a dead-end. Distribute still doesn't work, so I can't use my form:
I tried checking and unchecking the "hide extensions for known file types".
I tried resaving the pdf with a simple one word name, no special characters, a word like hello.
I tried moving the pdf and saving to C:\ root.
There are no errors on the form.
Why am I getting this error? I put a lot of work into the form, so am eager to start using it, but I can't really use it properly until I get past this Distribute step. I don't mind posting the form so someone can take a look at it and please help me. Thanks.

FOR ANYONE WHO HAS THE SAME PROBLEM
I FOUND THE "PROBLEM". IT'S SIMPLE:
The file was just too deep within a path (folder inside a folder etc). All you have to do is move/copy the form/pdf to your desktop, then open it and hit Distribute. You will no longer get that error.

The images i have now i can not use after lightroom has automatically altered them even if i try editing back to how they looked upon import

First thing to do is to change the default camera profile applied in Lightroom to camera standard (assuming that you shoot Canon or Nikon). Also make sure that your camera is NOT set up to use any of the HDR modes. Nikon calls those Active Dynamic Lighting. On Canons you often see things like highlight priority mode or "Auto Lighting Optimizer". Make sure that the picture style is set to standard and that for newer Canons the HDR mode is turned off. Most of the HDR modes simply underexpose the image and then add an instruction in the raw file to compensate for this to prevent highlights from being blown out. This causes more noise in the shadows and if you know what you are doing there is no point to this as you should simply expose correctly and get the highest quality raw.
Lastly, make sure that in Lightroom you have not checked "Apply Auto Tone Adjustments" in Preferences->Presets. This should make the default rendering of the raw files the same as the in-camera jpeg (what the camera shows on the back even if you shoot raw) but still give you all the latitude of raw files.

The sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases.
The ipod is not a backup device.
You need to copy everything back using your backup copy.

I've had all kinds of trouble keeping my iTunes software current over the past year, but have found the easiest way to remedy the issue is to simply download the latest version of iTunes as though I am a first-time user and then just install it into the directory my current version of iTunes is using. Doing this has allowed me to update my software without losing any of my media/data. Hope this helps! Best of luck!!!

I had a look and don't ask me why but it seems that you can't add extra rectangles in a sub table. But weirdly, it seems possible to add tables.
I mean you can't add a rectangle using
app.activeDocument.textframes.tables.tables.cell.insertionpoint.rectangles.add
//remove any reference, that's conceptual at this time.
The idea I had at the first place but put aside cause to its heaviness is to cheat.
Instead of adding the rectangle, we are going to copy & paste it.
So let's keep all the things you need (rectheight & rectwidth).
But this time, let's use

but to answer your question, you can still download old firmwares and then press shift while clicking on the restore button in itunes, point it to the fw and there you (should) go.

Reset it by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release. You won't lose any data by doing this.
