How to reinstall Windows 8 on Yoga 13 with damaged Recovery Image?

I changed the partitions on my Yoga 13. Now it is not possible to refresh, reinstall or perform an advance start-up, as it looks like there is no recovery image anymore. The systems is currently very messy and needs a reinstall.
Can someone tell me how to reinstall Windows 8 on the Yoga 13 when the recovery image is lost or damaged?

hi Chevex,
Thanks for using Lenovo Community Forums!
In the event that the Recovery partition is not working the only option is to use the Recovery CD that you can create when you first got the computer.
but if you were not able to create a Recovery CD and the Onekey Recovery is not working.
You can get the Recovery CD from the Software Department (Fees may apply to the discs)
you can contact the Hardware Team again and ask to be transferred to Software team for purchasing RCD

  • Windows 8 reset with custom recovery image

    Dear all,
I searched for two days now without being able to find any Information:
Is it possible to perform a reset with a custom recovery image on Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 ?
I tried multiple scenarios but I always receive the error message, that some files are missing and that I need to insert an installation media.
If I use e.g. Windows 8.1 Enterprise install.wim file all is working fine. But I would like to provide my users the options to make an OS refresh as well as OS reset with some preinstalled applications.
If it's not possible to use one Image for both, any way to get two Images working, one for refresh and one for reset?
The Internet is full of guides how to create custom recovery Images, but I can't find anything about reset and custom Images. Thanks a lot for your help in advance.
    Best regards
    Tobias

    Hi,
I think we can create a recovery disc for refresh or reset via system image backup.

  • How to reinstall Windows 10

Hi, I have a laptop with Windows 8 in the factory image.I installed Windows 10 but had some issue with 3rd party softwares. It's a general question, not related to a laptop model.  How to reinstall Windows 10 ? Do I need to put back the factory image ? It's seems the Windows 10 upgrade works only with Windows 8.1 With the factory image, the steps will be: -Restore the factory image
-Install all windows update in Windows 8.0 to get the Windows 8.1 update
    -update drivers
    -Install Windows 8.1
-Install all windows 8.1 update to get Windows 10-Install Windows 10
It's seems to be a very long process.
What's the recommended way to reinstall Windows 10 ?
    Thanks

I don't want to do a clean. I don't want to install every driver. Is it possible to upgrade the Windows 8 factory image (not 8.1) directly to Windows 10, keeping all drivers ?  There is 144 important update in Windows 8, only to have access to Windows 8.1 installation page in Windows store.  I don't want to take one week to install Windows 10

  • How to reinstall windows 8 on bootcamp

how to reinstall windows 8 on bootcamp macbook pro, without losing anything on OS (Apple) side

Start Bootcamp Assistant then select the option to remove Windows and return your drive to a single partition. Once Windows is removed start Bootcamp Assistant again and select the option to install Windows. Follow the Bootcamp instructions for installing Windows.
This process will not cause lose of OSx data or applications if done correctly. But as allways, create a good backup of your data because things sometimes go wrong or instructions are not followed causing data lose.

  • How to install Windows 8.1 with Windows 8 Product key?

I have purchased Upgrade pack from Windows 7 to Windows 8. I have also Updated the OS to windows 8.1 through Store. How to install Windows 8.1 with Windows 8 Product key?

The download link for the Windows 8.1 installer at the Upgrade with Product Key Only does not accept a Windows 8.0 product key. I ended up using the trick suggested by Andre Ziegler in this thread to obtain the 8.1 download independent of the Windows
Store, but I haven't yet checked if the 8.0 key works from 8.1 Setup.
I do IT for a living but I have plenty of family members that bring their notebook PCs to me and ask me to do the heavy lifting, and I'd rather not re-download the same 3.6 GB every single time someone tells me to fix their PC. I also want to be able to
re-install 8.1 from the source media in case of a catastrophic hard disk failure and I have to replace the disk.
As an aside, tools that retrieve product keys for installed products end up retrieving the 8.0 product key from an 8.1 install that was upgraded via the Store.  It kind-of makes sense that an 8.0 key could work to install 8.1 because 8.1 is supposed
to be a free upgrade for licensed 8.0 users, but this doesn't seem to work until after 8.1 is successfully installed via some trickery and the user supplies the 8.0 key to activate it.

Best to restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media. All the drivers and utilities are properly preinstalled. Windows is preactivated.
If you failed to burn recovery discs, you can obtain them from Toshiba. Scroll down to Get Recovery Media here.

  • Satellite A110 - How to reinstall Windows XP?

    Hi,
I have a very serious problem. I had to format my hard drive, and now, I want to reinstall Windows XP OS on my machine. The serial key is written under my keyboard, but I don't know how to specify it during the installation process.
Can i write an email to Toshiba asking for a new DVD copy of the OS?
    Thanks in advance.
    Dani

    Hi
Im a little bit confused now. Why do you want a new installation disk if you dont know how to use the product key on the bottom side?
Do you have a XP disk at the moment?
The product key on the bottom side of the notebook cant be used with a normal XP installation disk that you can buy in every computer shop. This is an OEM key and belongs to the preinstalled XP version.
So you can ask an authorized service provider for a new recovery disk or you buy a normal XP disk but then you have to use the product key that is delivered with the XP disk.

  • How to Reinstall Windows on Existing Bootcamp Partition

I've been running Windows 7 under Bootcamp on my 2011 MacBookPro. I've run into a situation where Windows7 will no longer install updates. I worked one day with Microsoft for over an hour but they could not find what was causing the problem. FYI, when looking into this problem, the error code that is produced is Error Code 8007010B. I have found nothing substantial online in regards to this code.
I've used Winclone (a Mac application) in the past without issues to restore a Boot Camp Windows partition. Since purchasing Winclone 3.4 I've made several backups, but now that I am actually trying to restore one of those backups I'm getting a message:
"the image you are attempting to restore does not contain the correct information".
So I am frustrated and have emailed twocanoes.com, the Winclone publisher and waiting for their answer.
    Working with Bootcamp
I'm trying to figure out the steps I need to reinstall Windows from scratch in an existing bootcamp partition. Do I need to start from scratch with Bootcamp, or can I reinstall Windows from inside Windows? If I do the latter, how do I prompt Bootcamp to reinstall the Apple drivers?
    Other Issues FYI
I'm having trouble locating the Windows 7 instal DVD I originally purchased. I do have the serial number. So I've downloaded a copy of Windows 7 from the  MyDigitalLife Windows7 Repository.
I have burned the iso image to a DVD. I've got 2 versions, one is the .iso file burned onto the DVD, the other are the contents of the .iso file burned to DVD. I assume to install Windows, it will want the one with the contents of the Windows installer burned to it? Any other issues I may be unaware of regarding this kind of Windows install?
Is there any advantage of reinstalling Windows from a USB Flash drive as compared to a DVD? Just curious.
Finally, for Activation, because this copy of Windows is going back into the same Bootcamp partition on the same hardware, will I have to reactivate Windows? If so, suggestions appreciated.
    Thanks!
    -Dave

I appreciate the help. Can you tell me what are the steps to tell Bootcamp to install drivers into a Windows install? Thanks!
Update: I looked at the Bootcamp Assistant instructions and now I understand your answer. Info here:
"Step 4: Install the Windows support software
After installing Windows, install Mac drivers and other support software for Windows. The
support software installs Boot Camp drivers to support your Mac hardware, including AirPort
devices, the built-in camera, the Apple Remote, the trackpad on a portable Mac, and the function
keys on an Apple keyboard. The software also installs the Boot Camp control panel for Windows
and the Apple Boot Camp system tray item.
You can download the support software by selecting the “Download the latest Windows support
software from Apple” option in Boot Camp Assistant. The support software must be copied to a USB flash drive formatted in MS_DOS FAT. If the installer does not start automatically, doubleclick the setup.exe file in the Bootcamp folder."
If you or anyone have any other tips, they would be appreciated. As this appears to happen with Windows quite frequently, and I've had to do it multiple times over the years, I'm not looking forward to it.

  • How to reinstall Windows XP against Bootcamp for a Macbook

I am a new switcher for Mac OS. My major work has always been completed in XP OS. but recently I suffered a frequent down for XP OS. What should I do to reinstall a XP with Bootcamp?
    1. My macbook was installed with old version of bootcamp, should I remove this older one and reinstall a new one?
    2. How to remove bootcamp from a Mac OS?
Better provide me a detailed guide to secure this reinstallment.THANKS EVERYONE.

If you launch Boot Camp Assistant, you will see that one of the choices on the first screen is to "Restore the startup disk to a single volume". Click on that and follow the directions. That will remove Boot Camp and Windows XP from your Mac.
You can then launch Boot Camp Assistant again to reinstall Windows.
If what you are saying is that you want to only update Bootcamp to the latest version (1.1.1) you do not need to remove your Windows partition and start over.
If you only want to update, go to this page and follow the instructions marked "Updating to Boot Camp 1.1.1 beta".

Call HP and order Recovery kit of your Notebook which would have OS and factory shipped software which went with the notebook. You will get recovery kit for a nominal charge of 15$-25$ depending on type of shipping

  • How to reinstall Windows 7 in Boot Camp without DVD?

Windows 7 in bootcamp really stinks......
    Many problems like:
    -WMP 12 crashes (always)
    -Screen flickers
    -Boot screen errors
    and many more....
i have used Parallels Desktop 6 and uninstalled it.
pls help, i'm no Mac pro.
just bought mac mini a few months ago and i never use Mac OS X Lion.
Is it possible to reinstall windows only using ISO disc image?

If it is a Mini with Lion, get Parallels 7.  Works like a champ
    on all my Macs.
If Bootcamp install of Win7 "stinks", how did you install it
in the first place to know that, as Bootcamp installs run native?
Or do you really mean that you tried Parallels and want to
do a native install using Bootcamp?
Some loose ends here that seem somewhat confusing.
Also, exactly what Mini do you have?  I have a 2010 Mini
that runs Win7 Pro 64 bit like a champ, in Bootcamp.  Watch Blurays
    with PowerDVD11 quite often.

  • How to reinstall WIndows 7 on my Qosmio X500-111?

    Hello
I don't know the Qosmio well, because it's my first time. My brother installed many stupid things on my notebook and some programs don't work. As a solution I wanted to reinitialize Windows 7.I have an original CD but I read that the notebook won't run right if I do that and that I would need a Toshiba Win7.
    So my question is obvious:
Where do I get a Toshiba Win7 or how do I reinitialize my Windows, which is preinstalled? I have a HDD Recover on my hard disk but I don't know how to use it?!
    Can anyone help me?

Wait a moment. In your previous posting you clearly wrote your brother has made some stupid thing so Toshiba has nothing to do with your bad situation.
On every Toshiba notebook is preinstalled small reminder with follow message:
    *Important INFORMATION*
*your system is equipped with hard disk recovery system. If you need to repair your computer by restoring it to original factory state, you can do it directly from harddisk (press F8 when you*
*boot your computer, choose "Repair your computer" and follow the menue instructions) or create a bootable Recovery Disc Medium for this purpose.*
*Toshiba recommends you to create Recovery Disc Medium using the "Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator" to ensure that you are able to restore your computer to the original factory installed state,*
*even if your computer gets seriously damaged.*
This reminder will be shown immediately after first start and it is also set to start with OS in Startup options. So everyone who buy brand new Toshiba notebook will be informed about recovery DVD creation. On the other hand in Users manuals is clearly described how it works with recovery DVD creation and HDD recovery options.
Have you checked Users manuals when you got your brand new Qosmio?
Have you informed yourself about this new product?
Your statement is based on your personal emotions and has nothing to do with reality.
One more thing: imagine you must buy new OS from Microsoft for your Qosmio? How much you must pay for it? A lot of money and at the end you will have naked OS. For 30Euros Toshiba offers you to have original recovery image designed for your notebook model. This recovery image contains operating system, all necessary drivers, Toshiba tools and utilities and much additional software you get for free.
So please be realistic and say to yourself: OK, **** happens and I lost original OS. Thats all.
Order this disc, install Win7 again and everything will be OK. Valid guarantee has nothing to do with this story.
Please dont be mad on me but I just want to clarify the whole situation and try to help you.
It is really not so bad as you think it is.
Be cool my friend. Everything will be OK. ;)

due to fault i deleted my app data from user folder of c drive  due to this some apps and software not working prioperly so i want to reinstall my windos but it is not done  so help me to solve this problem of deleting app data

    Hi there
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. I understand that you deleted the App data from your profile and now apps are not working properly.  I am happy to assist with this. Please post the full product number for your notebook. See the following, if you need help with that information.
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Also, was Windows 8.1 your factory installed operating system? I would recommedn that you backup any personal data, files, etc from the system before doing anything else. Then you can do a system recovery to restore the factory installation.

we need to reinstall windows 8 on formatted disk how do we do this.
The disk has been removed and formatted. Restore did not work and created a partition that blocked off all our memory access.  Now we can not get it to restart to windows 8

Was the laptop delivered from the factory with Windows 8? If so the Key Code is embedded in the BIOS. All you have to do is download this .iso and make a DVD from it which will work to install an official licensed activated copy of Windows 8:
    https://docs.google.com/a/ericspellmann.com/uc?id=0B0W9PBigPy94aVJWSndyTFNFMzg&export=download
If you need help burning an .iso to a DVD let us know. You can't just copy the .iso file to disk. It is kind of like a .zip file and has to be unpacked and reassembled into a DVD with special software.
