  • How to release project for CHARM?

    Hi Experts,
    I am very new to solman and stuff. I am configuring the CHARM process for first time. So far, I have got the TMS and other domain controller related activities done from Basis. In addtion, I have also maintained systems in the transaction SCC4 with appropriate roles (Dev having Customizing Role & PRD being the Test). I also activated the integration with Change Management in SPRO.
    Later, in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN I created a project of type maintenance. Added systems in the system landscape tab using the logical componenets. As I have only Two BW systems i.e. Dev & PRD, I set Dev. System = BW DEV, Test Syster = BW DEV again & Production Syster = BW PRD system. In the IMG Projects tab, I added the project and it's in GREEN state as of now.
    Now, in the Change Managment Tab, I checked the check-box - Activate Change Req. Management. Upon this I received a popup saying: Warning: Problems occurred during syunchronization of the system landscape.
    However, I still went ahead with the configuration and clicked on Create Task List. At this point, I am getting following message:
    Project is not released, hence cycle  can not be created.
    As I said, I have no expertiese in Solman so I am kinda lost here. I need smoeone to tell me if whatever configurations I have done so far are correct or something is missing? And How should I release the project so that I can create the task list.
    Please help,
    Ameya

    While activation you have recieved errors
    so goto log button next charms activation or task list tab and see for the errors occured remove it and press the refresh again
    if there are no errors then only you can create task list

  • How do I lock for access to IMG in dev. systems, except via the SolMan?

    Hi all.
    For years I have heard that it should be possible to "technically suggest" to config users that they must go via the SolMan to execute the configuration of satellite systems.
    Can anyone tell me how to setup this, or even better point out a config guide for this?
    Thanks in advance!
    Per

    Hi
    It works as follow:
    You create RFC between SOLMAN and Satellite system.
    Make configuration about system landscape in SMSY and SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN
    Here you have to link RFCs with Trusted option
    then you can access Satellite system via SOLMAN
    For trusted network, you need to have same user id in both SOLMAN n Satellite system...
    The password of satellite system id is system generated and not known to consultants
    thus they have only option of logging in to SOLMAN to access Satellite system.

    If you dont restrict the characteristic using any value in the filter, then all values will be locked.

  • How to relaese lock ??

    Hi BW Gurus,
    Can somebody explain me how to release lock that is there in SM12. Please provide me some docs and links relating to it.
    Thanks in advance,
    Rose.

    hi
    Wait until the process that is causing the lock is complete. You can call transaction SM12 to display a list of the locks.
    If a process terminates, the locks that have been set by this process are reset automatically.
    Check this link.

  • How do I reset my ipod from my computer because it is locked for 42 years !?

    My ipod says it is locked for 42 years. I can't reset it on my actual ipod because it's locked and I don't know how to do it via my computer. Technology isn't my forte ! I need simple instructions and apple is exactly helping with the situation because it seems no one else has has this issue.

    Try this:
    Placing your device into recovery (DFU-Device Firmware Upgrade) mode:
    Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
       1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
           other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
       2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
           until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
                  * If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
                    Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
                    release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
      3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
           device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
           let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
           charge, and then start with step 2 again.
      4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
           When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
      5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
      6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
    If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
    If you have a problem getting into recovery mode then try: RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode.
    Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.

  • How to lock a row and release lock

    Hello
    There are two thread, they read the same row, I want to lock this row when the first thread read the record, after this thread commit its data, release the lock, the second thread can lock this record, also can commit its data. I also want to know how to release the lock. And these operations are in different Classes, e.g. in Class A first thread lock the record, in Class B second lock the record, and in Class C release the lock.
    Note: these two thread will read this record at same time.
    Thanks in advance.

    TopLink provides to forms of locking, optimistic and pessimistic.
    <p>
    You are referring to pessimistic. You can use pessimistic locking in TopLink through the ReadObject/ReadAllQuery API acquireLocks(), or acquireLocksWithoutWaiting(), this will use a "Select ... for Update" in SQL. You must be in a transaction to lock a row in the database (UnitOfWork in TopLink), and you locks are released when you commit or rollback the transaction. If you are using JPA, TopLink supports a JPA query hint "toplink.pessimistic-lock"="Lock" to allow pessimistic locking.
    <p>
    You can also use optimistic locking. An optimistic lock does not prevent another user from reading the same row, but ensures that only one user will be able to commit changes to the row. Optimistic locking typically has the advantage of better concurrency, and does not have issues with deadlocks.

  • How to use lock in TestStand for synchronization ?

    I am trying to implement the synchronizing techniques for the COM component. Through the document, I understood about Lock utility. But it was not clear that how should I release lock. Can anybody guide me in this issue ? My requirement is, even though 2-3 sequnces try to access same COM component, only one sequence should be able to access the COM component. Other sequences will wait till this time.

    After you create a TestStand lock using the Lock step type, you can then acquire the lock using the Lock operation of the Lock step type. When using the Lock operation of the step type, you have the option to specify the Lock Operation Lifetime. Options for this are:
    -Same as Sequence
    -Same as Thread
    -Use ActiveX reference
    The first two options are fairly explanatory; acquire lock until either the sequence or thead completes.
    The last option allows you to store an ActiveX reference to the lock operation in a TestStand variable. You can release the lock operation by setting this variable to value of Nothing (e.g. Locals.MyLock = Nothing). Or, you can release the lock by letting the variable go out of scope.
    Finally, you can release a lock using a Lock ste
    p configured for the Early Unlock operation. This allows you to release a lock before than the lifetime you configured when creating the lock.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to release an exclusive lock

    Hi,
    I don't know, how to release a lock, after locking exclusive.
    We're locking our BOPF Object like this:
    o_task_srv_mngr->retrieve(
            exporting
              iv_fill_data            = abap_false
              iv_node_key             =  /cenitapm/if_bo_pw_task_c=>sc_node-pwtsk  " Node
              it_key                  =   t_key  " Key Table
              iv_edit_mode            = /bobf/if_conf_c=>sc_edit_exclusive
            importing
              eo_message              = o_message
    Now how do I release the lock again?
    I know, It is released after a save of the transaction manager, but how do i achieve an unlocking without that save?
    Regards David

    After some investigation, I came to following result:
    Locks are released on commit or rollback.
    So if I want to release an exclusive lock, I have to rollback everything in the current session.
    After feeling limited by this design in the first place, I now think, this is a great way to secure my data integrity.
    I only want to release an exclusive lock if I don't want to save my data, or if I want to save it ;)
    I just have to ensure, all data not belonging to the actual transaction is saved before setting an exclusive lock to another object.
    So thumbs up for the designer of this concept.

    I bought my iphone5 last Mar 1, 2013. However, it was stolen/lost last friday Jun 14.How can I locked it for them not to use or resell it?I'm not registered at ICLOUD. I am not expecting it to be returned. I just want the unit to become useless already so that stolen/lost  Iphone or any kind of apple brand gadget will no longer be of interest by others to buy it from any thief or any person who will resell it in just a small amount.

    Sorry, but if you did not set up Find My iPhone, then unless your iPhone is set up with a company Microsoft Exchange server or other mobile device management system, there is no way to wipe the iPhone of its data, though if you had a screen lock in it, the thieves/finder will probably restore it and wipe the data anyway. There is no way to lock the iPhone permanently to prevent someone from using your iPhone, though you can report the loss to your cell carrier and they may be able to blacklist it from connecting to their network.
    Regards.

  • How to setup a release strategy for store generated purchase order

    Hi there,
    Does anybody know how to setup a release strategy for store/plant generated purchase order? I have a request from our client, but I never cross this before. Please help and let me know the step with every single detail.
    Greatly thank for your help.
    Kind Regards,
    2tea

    Please go thru the below Release Procedure and check whether you have maintained all the settings properly.
    PO RELEASE STRATEGY
    The release code is a two-character ID allowing a person to release (clear, or approve) a requisition or an external purchasing document. The release codes is basically controlled via a system of authorizations (authorization object M_EINK_FRG).
    Use SE12, structure CEKKO to check all the fields available for controlling the Purchase Order.
    e.g. If the total value for the Purchase Order exceeds 10,000, release strategy 01 is assigned to the Purchase Order. There is only one characteristic created in this example. For controlling the Purchase Order type, create characteristic for CEKKO-BSTYP and the value NB.
    CT04 - Create Characteristic e.g. NETVALUE
    Click Additional data Table name CEKKO Field name GNETW and press enter
    (for currency dependent field, you are prompt to enter the currency which the system then converts the currency of the Purchasing document into this currency)
    In the Basic data (X refers to tick),
    X Mutliple values
    X Interval values
    In the Value data, in the Char. value column, type >10000 and press enter
    Save your data
    CL02 - Class
    Class - Create REL_PUR
    Class type - 032
    Click Create

    In the Same Classification section, click Check with error
    In the Char. (characteristic) tab, type NETVALUE to assign your characteristics to the class
    OMGS - Define Release Procedure for Purchase Order Type
    Release Group - New entries
    Rel.group Rel. Object Class Description
    02 REL_PUR Rel. Strategy for PO
    Release codes - New entries

    OMGSCK - Check Release Strategies
    (make sure there are no error messages)
    Once the Purchase Order is not release, buyers will not be able to print the Purchase Order.
    Goods Receipts will be shown with Message no. ME 390 - Purchasing document XXXXXXX not yet released.
    In 4.6c, Purchase Order with Release Strategy have a tabs at the end of the Header. This allowed the buyers to check the release status of the Purchase Order.
    The person with the release authorization have to use ME28 to release the Purchase Order.

  • How to configure release procedure for rate contracts release

    Dear all,
    How to configure release procedure for rate  contract following are the requirements
    they are two release codes c1 & c2 <=100000,>=100000
                    if  c1 is not there c2 has to be approved
         Change in the value of the rate contract contract
         Change in the validity of the rate contract
         Addition of deletion of line items
    While using a non u2013 released rate contract in the PO an error message should shoot out.
    Also the logic should be changed while using the rate contract in the PO.
    The usage of the rate contract should be till the validity of the rate contract. i.e. the measurement should be end date of the rate contract and the PO creation date and not the delivery date of the PO. &
    It should be possible to refer existing valid rate contracts in purchase orders.
    Regards,
    bhaskar

    Hi,
    In SAP rate contract is known as value contract denoted with wk. The release procedure for rate contract is same as that of other contracts and scheduling agreements. The tables  for contracts will vary with SA (Scheduling agreement) .You may try and maintain condition records based on the customer combination and maintian the validity date of condition records as per your requirement.For contract and PO will have the same header/item table as EKKO/EKPO, and the release
    class in standard is the same FRG_EKKO, you can use the same for contract.
    To distinguish if it's a contract or PO, EKKO-BSART can be used.
    For contract EKKO-BSART will be MK or WK, while PO will have NB/UB etc..
    You can restrict the document type to set up the release strategy for only contract.
    Of cause, you can also create your own release class Z* for contract copying standard
    one FRG_EKKO via CL01/Class type 032, and then assign the class Z* to customizing:
    OLME:
    -> contract
    ->Release Procedure for Contracts
    ->Define Release Procedure for Contracts
    ->Release Groups
    If you have already created the PO release class.
    Assign a new chracteristic of Document Category -BSTYP
    Please check below link for detailed release procedure. I hope this wil help you out .Thanking you.
