How to relink Oracle Binaries on Windows platform

Hi Gurus,
How to relink Oracle Binaries on Windows platform?
Database version - 11.1.0.7
Application version - 12.1.3
Thanks,
Khan

Hi Khan,
Running AD Relink
Run AD Relink as follows.
1. Set the environment.
You must set the environment to indicate the location of the configuration
parameters that define your system. This task is common to many AD utilities. See
Setting the Environment in Chapter 1.
2. Relink files.
Run AD Relink with the following command:
UNIX:
S adrelink.sh force=n "ad <executable name>"
Windows:
C:\> sh adrelink.sh force=n "ad <executable name>"
Additional Information: See Relinking AD Executables in Oracle
Applications Maintenance Procedures for complete instructions for
running this utility with the various command line arguments.Taken from R12 maintenance utilites documentation PDF.
Thanks

  • Relinking Oracle binaries and multiple Oracle Homes

    Hello,
My question is related to relinking Oracle binaries in the following scenario:
As part of larger migration project we are moving all the databases from one server to another. Both on old and on new server the OS is the same: HP-UX 11.23i. There are 5 databases on the source server, each with it's own Oracle Home (and Oracle binaries). All Oracle binaries for all the databases are version 10.2.0.3.
On the new server we have some of the migrated databases already in production. Now our DBA wants to move another database and, because for each database binaries are moved also from source to destination server, he has to relink the binaries on target server. Is it required to stop all the databases on the target server to perform the relink for this one DB, even if they all have separate Oracle Homes (binaries)?
    Thanks for your answers
    Maciej

    NO!

  • How to run JDeveloper on non-windows platforms?

I downloaded the base install package from http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/jdev/htdocs/soft11tp.html and unzipped the resulting package. It seems to have Windows .exe files in it and not shell scripts or pure Java.
How does one launch JDeveloper from this package on Linux or OS X? Or is there an alternative package somewhere to look for that is intended for use on non-Windows platforms?

    Alansil,
The [url http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/11tp/install.html]install guide has specific instructions for both Linux and OSX.
You may also be aware - the JDev 11g ADF version is going to be released within a week or so (announced at OOW)

  • How to Install Oracle 10g in Windows 7 Home premium 64bit operating system

    Hi,
I am using Windows 7 Home premium 64bit operating system. While i was installing oracle 10g i got error and not able to install. How to install the Oracle 10g databse on this operating system. Is there any patch to install this or i have to use other version of oracle with window 7 operating system?
    Thanks in advance
    Mayank Adhikari

The argument would be who wants to install Oracle database on Windows 7. I think most probably by the developers who wants to "Try" something prior deal with a production database, right?
For a developer, installing database using the hack is more than NOT having a local database running from the local system. I installed all the products mentioned with windows7bugs post and used the following tools to successfully connect and retrive data from the database instances.
    Toad 9.7.x.x
    SQL Developer
    SQL/Plus
Developer 6i (Another hack, please check this link http://windows7bugs.wordpress.com/2010/03/01/installing-oracle-developer-forms-reports-6i-on-windows-7-64bit/).
I think the discussion about whether all the features of client/server are still available with such a hacked installation is meaningless as far the information requested was strictly for Windows 7, not for a Server OS.

for Windows XP 2003/Windows Server 2003 (64-bit) from the web site.
I run Windows XP Professional x64 version 2003 Service pack 1.
When I am trying to run setup I am getting message "The image file is valid but not for your type of machine".

64 bit Oracle (9.2.0 and 10.1.0) on Windows is for Itanium only. AMD64 and EM64T are not supported for 64 bit Oracle on these releases.
With 10g release 2 (not yet available last time I checked) there will be support for 64 bit Oracle on AMD64 and EM64T. Until then the only Oracle supported for your platform is the 32 bit version.

  • How to Install Oracle 11g on Windows Vista

Hi Everyone, this is Abhinay here i am a Graduate Student from Electronics and i am planning to shift to CS background the main thing i want to know from you guys is " A structured procedure of Installing Oracle 10g on Windows Vista"- So can any one of you guys help me out??????????

Hi, how are you doing ?
Just one advice about it. If you want to work with Oracle databases, it will be better to install it on certified OS's. Doing so, you will get better experience and more realistic experience on it.
Following the Oracle database documentation, you will get all that you need to successfully install the database in the certified OS.

  • How to install oracle 9i on Windows XP

Could someone please tell me how to install orale 9i downloaded from oracle site on windows-xp for home. Could not find setup.exe file in any of the three downloaded files. I am new to oracle. Thanks for any lead or suggestions.

Unzipping gives you three disks worth, inside disk1 there should be a file 'setup.exe'.
If not you could try using a download manager like 'getright' to make sure you've "really" got what was posted (windows isn't so hot at getting it right) - getright is so good I paid for the shareware :-)
    Hope that helps
    Jason.

  • How to convert oracle forms in j2ee platform

    hi,
i want to know how can i convert oracle forms into j2ee platforms. if is it possible then please tell me the steps that i need to follow .
    thxs

What you are asking is a bit like "how can I convert a dishwasher into a washing machine".
If you want to know the the steps I would say.
    1) Work out what kind of washing machine you want to convert to
    2) Learn the technical details of that washing machine
    3) Rearchitect your diswasher plans so it fits into the "model" of a dishwasher
    4) Now spend lots of time money and effort doing it.
Now, I don't know if thats going to help you. But if you tell us the WHY it might help formulate a response

How do I "relink oracle, svrmgrl, etc using the usual relink commands"
This may not really be an Oracle Questions, so please bare with me. ANy help, even pointing in the correct directions would be wonderful. Thanks for the help.

Just try 'relink all', but be warned: there are problems with relinking 8.1.6 R2/R3 on RedHat 7.0
    Hope this helps,

  • How to run Oracle workflow in windows 7 os

    Hi,
    Am new to oracle workflow.
I have installed oracle workflow successfully in my laptop.
After installation I dont see any shortcut's in my desktop.
Can any one sugess me how to run oracle workflow.
Steps to begin from basic level.
    Thanks
    Balaji

You mean to say you installed Workflow Builder on your laptop? See that Oracle Workflow has a Client Side (WF Builder), a backend Server side and middle application side.
Assuming you successfully installed the client side then you must have a group of programs called Oracle OUIHome and there one called Application Development. There you should be able to find Workflow builder.
    Useful notes for WF Builder:
How To Download and Install the Latest Oracle Workflow Builder (Client Tool) and XML Gateway Message Designer for E-Business (Doc ID 261028.1)
