How to reload mod_wl_ohs.conf without a need for restart?

Hi,
Made changes to mod_wl_ohs.conf. However, I don't want to do a restart so work is not interrupted. Is there a way how to do this?
Thanks.

Hello,
I believe a restart is required for changes to take effect >> http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/web.1111/e16435/oracle.htm#PLGWL553

  • I have an ipod touch 4g. I want to use our internet hdtv as a monitor so others can see my screen in 40". Sony guy said that can do it wirelessly through the internet router instead of Hdmi without the need for an apple tv.Is this true and how do I do it?

As I said above, I want to view my iPod screen on our new 40" Sony Internet full HD TV.
I know that you can do this via HDMI but a Sony guy said that you should be able to do this wirelessly by going through the router. Is this true and can I do this without the need for the Apple TV?
We are soon going to get the airport extreme, so will it work with that?

    1. Is it a smart TV?
    2. If so.... Is the TV connected to the Internet?
    3. If it is.... Check if your iPod and your TV share the same IP address (Wi-Fi network)
    4. If they do.... Then you should go to wherever your "Other Media" tab is.
    5. After that.... Search for you iPod. Because it is connected to the same network, it should recognize the device they same way AirPrint does.
    6. If you happen to see this fail, then try this method:
    1. Do you have a Bluetooth-enabled computer/laptop?
    2. If so.... Enable the bluetooth on the computer/laptop as well as your iPod.
    3. After that.... Your iPod should be actively searching and it should find the computer/laptop.
    4. If it did.... Transfer the file onto Windows/Mac (preferably Mac) and find the program to open the file.
    5. After doing so.... Connect your computer/laptop to the TV via HDMI Output Cable.
    6. Now it should work!

How Big of a partition do I need for Windows XP? And to be able to run visual Basics program?

Nobody can answer that question with any certainty because we don't know your computing needs and what specific apps you're going to isntall.
Regardless, this forum is for the troubleshooting the installation of OS X, not Boot Camp, and you'll probably want to post your question over in the Boot Camp forums:

  • How do I know what battery I need for my MacBook Pro?

Hello, Is there a way to find out what model the battery is that I need for my MacBook Pro without tearing it apart? I have the serial number and also the Hardware UUID, whatever that is. If I have to tear it apart I will, but I'm hoping to keep that to a minimum as I'm afraid to tempt fate!

skink - thanks for the kind words.
Depending on your model (check under the Apple menu, "About This Mac", "More Info...", "System Report..." and tell me your Model Identifier. Mine, for instance, says (under Hardware Overview):
    Hardware Overview:
    Model Name:    MacBook Pro
    Model Identifier:    MacBookPro8,2
Depending on your model, a 'good' number of cycles might be as low as 300 or as high as 1,000. But if the condition is "normal," as you say (and as mine reads) you really shouldn't have anything to worry about.
If it's a battery that needs to be replaced by an Apple tech, it's 'built-in,' meaning you can't just turn it over and change the battery (such was the case with my 2006 1,1 model and some models after that).
It's always good to keep an eye on battery health and to use some methods of keeping your CPU load at a minimum when using battery power. Viewing movies, whether in the DVD player or those that are on your computer, will really tax your CPU and result in lower battery life. To maximize your battery life, try to have as few apps open as possible when under battery power - particularly those that drain your CPU. You can keep and eye on this by keeping Activity Monitor, in your Utilities folder, open at all times. If you see a process that's taking 10+% of your CPU load, that's an app you should close or at least keep an eye on - my Firefox browser will sometime get in the 13% range, but I don't worry about that.
Battery use is, for me, primarily about Internet browsing and email. I keep open Firefox, Outlook, Activity Monitor, Word, Acrobat, Word, TextEdit, and a few other small apps and I generally get 7+ hours on battery time.
I would also suggest using two little utilities to keep an eye on battery usage - one is "Battery Health" available at the App Store free. The other is gfxCardStatus which will let you use discrete graphics, changing your GPU to the less intensive processor. It's available at http://codykrieger.com/gfxCardStatus and is "Mountain Lion ready" as of it's latest release.
Good luck - see how many more hours you can eke out of that battery before thinking about having it replaced. As much as I use mine, I know that I'm going to go over the 1,000 cycle mark before my AppleCare expires, so I know that I'm going to have to get it replaced. But for now, I'm getting the advertised hours and am quite happy.

    Clinton

  • Old computer died, need to get my music from my ipod touch to my pc, how can I do this without losing music for free!?

I have an Ipod touch with about 900 songs on it, i used to connect with my old pc until it recently broke. i have just bought a new pc and was wondering how i could get my music from my ipod to my new computer! the only thing i need is music , no videos or anything. does anyone know how i can do this for free? not very good with computers by the way!

    - Transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    - Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
    Copy music
    - If you have synced photos and some other items you will need a paid program like TouchCopy or PhoneView. They also do music.
    - Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backyp by right clicking on the iPod uder Devices in iTunes and select Backup
    - Then restore the iPod from that backup.

  • How do you make Nokia appreciate the need for Lumi...

As much as I'm loving the new devices Nokia releases I can't help but feel they keeping getting the internal storage wrong on their higher end devices.
An ideal world would offer decent internal memory (16GB minimum/32GB+ preferable) as well as microSD access on all their Lumia linup.  I accept that there woiuld be a trade-off for some designs to try to incorporate this on all the devices, but for those devices that don't have a microSD and you are selling as high-end (92X series) you should provide an absolute minimum of 32GB internal memory.
The Lumia 925 is a beautiful device, but the 16GB version (which I'm assuming will be the most readily available option compared to the 32GB version)  is woefully lacking for decent internal storage.
As great as the cloud computing/4G LTE revolution will be, it isn't here yet so you can't sell devices that appear to be intended to have their internal memory extended/supplemented by cloud access, as there's very few countries in the world that have a 4G network up to the task.
Even when cloud access/4G is improved I still would consider it vital to have decent sized local storage as well as high-speed cloud access.  Network access/reliability isn't 100% and so a device that relies on cloud access ends up being as crippled as Google's Chromebook has been since launch having to rely on a tech which isn't there yet.  Sure, gaming and the bulk of your music might make sense to play via the cloud when you can but with such amazing cameras on the devices there needs to be enough internal memory to give the user no worry of using it all up with apps, downloaded music&films for offline viewing, photos and their amazing holiday videos.
Nokia makes a great deal (and quite rightly) that the camera in your pocket should have great imaging capabilities as it's the one you can most quickly reach for.  Their Lumia devices are being positioned as devices suitable for all locations and all situations and so should be able to operate as such - when we go off the beaten track, we should be limited in what our device can do because it can't access the network!
I sincerely ask Nokia not to put out any higher-end Lumias without the following minimum requirements:
    1)  16GB+ internal storage with accessible expandable microSD memory.
    2)  32GB+ internal storage if no microSD slot available.
    3)  16GB+ internal storage with built in inaccessible microSD memory (32GB+ minimum) if the phone's design makes external microSD impractical/undesirable

    @ yasfer21
Don’t think there’s any need to argue anything here I believe another_rob has a point I purchase a Lumia 800 on release date knowing it only had 16gb of memory with no way to expand it, but I thought the 25gb of cloud would be good enough to compensate for lack of memory in the phone it self. Well what a fool was I, I don’t live out in the sticks, I live in a medium size town just outside one of the UKs main cities and even here there are parts of the town that you can loose phone connection let alone a good data connection, so I learned very quickly that the cloud option is at best poor and worst pointless for me.
I can see that yes cloud will get better with 4G and is only going to get better over time but it is to soon to make the phone so dependant on it, just a small point MS has now taken back 18gb of that cloud storage any way, didn’t bother me as I’ve not used it over the last twelve months now any way, also just another point the phone uses some of that 16gb of memory for the OS and other system software so you don’t even get the whole 16gb for your own use, I never looked myself when I first got the phone to see how much the OS used.
I also have my own nas storage at home which I have access to via the net so I can see and understand the advantages to cloud based back up and file transfer, but after saying that I’m now looking for a different phone partly due to the lack of greater internal  memory storage in the phone. My own Lumia only has 750mb of memory left and that is only because I have had to decide not to copy files to the phone that I used to have on my previous phone Nokia N900.
I know there is going to be cost considerations that Nokia have used to determine what memory to put in the phone so as not to make it to pricey and put people of as the mobile market is so very competitive but why not at lest give the user a couple of options either phones with different memory options or just a card slot, for me my next phone will have at lest 32gb of internal memory and an sd slot so I can have all the files I want full access to anywhere and at any time. So with this in mind I think there is no Nokia that meets this requirement and even if there was I have other problems with the OS on the phone so will not be buying another windows phone, which if a sad day for me as I’ve owned Nokia phones for over 25+ years.
Please this is just my own personal view as was your post and this forum is here for people to post there own views and ask question or ask for assistance and I hope that Nokia read these post and try to put phones out there that we will all be happy to own and use, just for now I will be using someone else’s mobile for the next couple of years I guess has I will be taking out another 18 or 24 month contract. No phone manufacture is ever going to make a phone that is perfect for everyone, mission impossible.
I will keep an eye on this forum and other press to see how thing progress with the Lumia range and who knows I may be back with them in a couple of years time so I wish you all well.

  • How big a hard drive do I need for iMac and Time Machine?

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere already. I am going to buy an iMac, probably the new 24" with a 320G internal HDD. I already have one Lacie external 320G HDD so I was wondering whether I can use this for Time Machine backups, or do I need to buy a bigger one? If so, how big? Is there a rule of thumb for working out how much hard drive space you need to have for Time Machine, for instance if I were to buy the 500G iMac what would I need?
    thanks.

I agree with the "double the size" rule of thumb. You should also consider how much of the 320GB you are actually using and are likely to use in the next year or two. After all, it's the amount of storage you use that matters, not the size of the disk. Disks will very likely be cheaper soon. You should also keep in mind that TM deletes old archive data when it runs out of disk space. So as long as you have more disk space than you have data to back up, TM will work, though you will lose older versions of your data.
So if your 320GB drive only has 100GB used and you're not the kind of person who eats up disk like there's no tomorrow, the 320GB drive should be fine for now. If you expect that 320GB disk to be full soon then a 750GB TM disk is more like what you need.
The same logic applies to a 500GB iMac. If you only expect to use 250GB in the next year or two then a 500GB TM disk should be OK. A 1TB drive will be a lot cheaper next year or the year after.

  • How to reload archived data into SAP database for object FI_DOCUMNT

Hi..could any one plz let me know how can i reload the archived data  which is on third party storage into sap database back. The archived data is related to FI_DOCUMNT. We don't have the Reload program for this object. The requirement is : Some of the FI documents are archived before being cleared. So, we want to reload the archived data back to SAP database and then do some modifications.
Please tell me how this is possible..thanks a lot in advance.
    It's urgent.
    Thanks,
    Shamim

Thanks Mylene. I've already gone through the same note..i was just looking out for the new standard program or any one have created any new program for the same. I think it's better we must wait for SAP to launch its reload program or else it's not possible to reload the archived data for this object.
    Thanks

Are you?  If still under warranty or you have Apple Care why not let them deal with it.  Why should you?

  • I have an ipad, and want into replace my laptop with it. Is there a way of running iTunes from my ipad to allow me to put music onto my old ipad classic without the need for a computer.

Please help me on this issue. I have the latest full size ipad with retina display and want to replace my old hp laptop with it. I currently run an iPod classic and nano from the iTunes on it, but i want to run them off my ipad. Is this possible.

The iPad is not a computer, it cannot replace one, and it cannot sync music or media to other devices.
You need to keep a computer around if you want  to sync ther Classic and Nano. It may also be useful if you ever need to backup the iPad in case a restore is necessarry.

  • Case statements without the need for Greater than less than

i have a problem where i have 6 different priorities. from high to low:
    A-A
    A-B
    A-C
    B-A
    B-B
    B-C
One field on the database (default) holds the default priorities. this value in this example is (A-B)
the problem is determinig wether the (actual) value, in this example (A-C) is an "UPGRADE" or a "DOWNGRADE" from the default.
the actual value may change, the default value never changes, so i need to determine if the actual value has increased in priority or decreased in priority?
i cant use the > or < functions obviously, what i have come up with so far is:
(case when actual = 'A-A' AND ((select default from table x) IN ( 'A-B','A-C','B-A','B-B','B-C','C-A','C-B','C-C')
when actual = 'A-B' AND ((select default from table x) IN('A-C''A-C','B-A','B-B','B-C','C-A','C-B','C-C') THEN 'UPGRADE' ELSE 'DOWNGRADE' END)
is this the best way to do a query like this ????

try adding control to form to let them select [ <, <=, >,>=] via a drop down and enter a value, then pass these items to a function that returns a sql select...
Report Region source would be function returning sql select..
