How to remote wipe when device is offline

how do I reset passcode or wipe device?

If it is offline, you cannot do it. You can select the option and it will put it in a pending status for 24 hours, so that if the device comes online during that time, the action will take place.

I beive that its too late now if the iPad has been wiped. The means of communicating with the device has been reset so there's no talking to it now.

YOu can only do that if you had find my iphone setup and activated prior to having your phone stolen.
Then you log into icloud.com to remote wipe, but your phone has to be connect to wifi or cellular data to do that.

  • Is it possible to remote wipe a device when it's not fetching mail?

We're looking at deploying some shared iPads.  We don't want people to be tempted to install their own email accounts on them, so we were going to try to lock that out.  However, I've found that without an associated AND ACTIVE email account we can't do a remote wipe.  It'd be OK to have an email account associated if it wasn't pulling in email, because then tapping on the email icon wouldn't be so tempting, but if we have email disabled the device doesn't seem to pull in the kill message.  We're using Lotus Traveler as our mobile device management server, but I think other solutions are the same -- they depend on the association with a mail account to do remote wipe.
Is there some other tool that can trigger a remote wipe that's NOT email based?
    Thanks.

I familiar with Exchange and as I understand, it does require an email connection.  One thing we tried out in exchange wsa connecting the device to an account that had mail forwarding turned off...that way you had the remote wipe capability, but no mail would be delivered.

  • SCCM 2012R2 with Intune - Remote Wipe iOS devices

    Hi,
I have questions regarding Remote Wipe in SCCM 2012 R2 with Intune manage iOS-devices.
How often do the iOS device "talk" to SCCM/Intune environment?
Is that "value" possible to change? (client settings, Intune-admin console)
I've published applications in SCCM and installed these via "Company Portal", but when I manage to run Remote Wipe it wont delete the data installed by SCCM/Intune?
    Has anyone tested this functionality?
    Regards
    Daniel

Microsoft has released and patch that effectively shortens the remote wipe task to seconds. I am currently testing in my environment. Please note you need to be running 2012 R2 CU3 for the update to be applicable

  • Selective Remote Wipe mobile device by using SCCM2012 R2

Hi all.  I've got SCCM2012 R2 installed and would like to test out the new Selective Remote Wipe feature (wipe company content only).  I've created the Exchange Connector, running the connection to our Exchange server through a service account,
and this service account has been granted with the Exchange Organiziation Management and View-Only permission.  In SCCM2012 R2 admin console, I can see the list of mobile device that connected to our Exchange server through ActiveSync.  However,
when I try to do a Retire / Wipe action on the mobile device, I only able to select the option "Wipe the mobile device and retire it from Configuration Manager" (a FULL wipe of the device, which is not what I wanted).  The option above, "Wipe
company content and retire the mobile device from Configuration Manager" is dimmed out, not configurable.  Am I missing something here?  Thank you.

Selective Wipe is only available when you integrate ConfigMgr with Windows Intune. The Exchange Connector is not enough.

  • How to remotely wipe Iphone 3g

Can you remotely wipe an iphone (3g)

Find My Phone requires iOS 5.0 or higher & an iCloud account, neither of which are supported on an iPhone 3G. Thus, the answer to your question is no.
On some iPhone 3G's, that migrated from MobileMe to iCloud, Apple has stated that Find My Phone "may" work. However, Apple does not support this & recommends you not rely on this.

  • ORPOS system tries to insert the journal when device goes offline

ORPOS 13.1.3 system tries to insert the journal for system status as any one of the device goes offline such as Database,Scanner, MICR, Till, Printer, etc. In view of such instances duplicate insertion for the same device status might result in access primary key violation which is a known issue. However, we still need to confirm whether its a base product behaviour or customization errors. we were not able to simulate this issue in UAT environment seems the chances for this occurence is rare.
Can you please confirm whether its base product issue?
    Appreciate your help.
    Regards,
    Hari

    Hi Hari
If it is creating any issue it seems to be a customization issue. May be if you can share logs we can help you more.
JL_ENR table contains JournalBeginTimestamp as his primary key which cannot be same for any 2 journal
But as such POS going online/offline multiple times does not create any issue

  • Lost Apple iPhone - a security procedure to remotely 'wipe' the device?

    Hello,
I have a brand new iPhone and would like to know what I would have to do if I ever lost permanent possession of it. Is there a procedure such as logging into the .me (.mac) account and selecting my personal passworded and double protected member's top secret area (lol), that I could report my device missing and would then be able to 'wipe' the iPhone clean of all contents before another user could gain access and control it AND possibly me via all my other macs.
Basically, can someone gain control of all my macs if I were to lose my iPhone? Is this possible, and if so, please could you let me know where to find it on the Apple website so I can be prepared to follow the procedure and take control of the lost iPhone from anywhere, wiping it clean of all content and disabling the device forever (this device will explode in 10 seconds... hey don't joke, that may happen one day!), can I gain access remotely to my iPhone and disable it... from my macs or someone else's mac/iphone/blackberry et al, even if someone else DOES gain control of it. Is there a backdoor that I could gain access to while someone else is using my iPhone and shut it down there and then. How quickly could this be done? Securely.
    Many thanks,
    GC

Remote wipe is available from the exchange server for iPhones deployed in the enterprise environment.
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/Enterprise_DeploymentGuide.pdf - page 7
However, it you have the 2.1 iPhone upgrade and put a passcode lock on the phone, you can have the option to wipe data after ten failed passcode attempts.

  • Remote wipe device configured with Work Folders

I have implemented Work Folders in my environment but I'm not able to figure out how to remote wipe a device that's configured. I found a thread saying Exchange, we have Exchange 2013 but I can't find my computer in the list of devices.

    Hi,
After some researches, Remote wipe: It can be done with Intune or Exchange. Since you have exchange already, then for convenience, I'd like to share the following links with you:

we're not familiar with settings in Exchange server, it's recommended to ask the question in the Exchange forum, members have more resource and experience with this issue.

    ITUNES 12-4points
    1) Please restore the easy function whereby the side bar easily accommodates playlists
    2) How do i know when devices can be ejected following synch--no visible drop down ?
    3) How can i change the fonts and font sizes of the library-over and above the noddy large/small toggle in preferences
    4) Look forward to a proper Apple update which includes  full functions of iTunes radio. Hurry up with the latter-Spotify is overtaking you guys!

How do i know when devices can be ejected following synch--no visible drop down ?
I can only tell you based on what I see w/ my iPhone...
When I plug in my iPhone I get the following icon on the top bar:
If I click on that (that's when it turns blue), I get a sidebar.  At the top I see this while it is syncing:
The circle-arrows spin.  Once the sync is finished, I see this:
I then know the sync is over and I click on the Eject icon that replaced the circle-arrows.
    Are you seeing something different?
