How to remotely boot into ipxe

Hi,
I am able to boot into WinPE....by using the bootable ipxe files.
But , I am not able to boot remotely using
http://10.1.2.62/winPE/boot.ipxe URL.
Please help me for the same.

I don't understand what iPXE is, or why you would be using it, or how it relates to MDT.
Why would you want to boot remotely using a URL?
You say that you are *not* able to boot remotely, yet in the previous sentence, you say that you *are* able to boot into WinPE. Which one is it?
Please narrow down your specific question, If you need help on 3rd party tools, you may need to go to the 3rd party support forums.

  • How do I boot into recovery mode with wireless keyboard

I am unable to boot into recovery mode using either cmd-R or holding down the alt key. How is it supposed to work?
Message was edited by: Niklas Brunberg (better title)

I understand your concerns - I'm glad both of my machines are dual bootable (just in case) and I have my Snow Leopard install disks..... However, this is what Apple has decided, so we need to find the best way to deal with it. Personally, I've tested the recovery mode several times and, at least on my machine, it was not reliable (i.e. it wouldn't work - I tried it again and it did, but it spent more than an hour downloading the entire 4 GB installer again and then another 30 minutes installing it), and on a third try, I found that it had vanished because I had cloned by drive. When you clone, only your system is cloned, not the extra partition.
So, I've decided to rely on a) my bootable clones and b) a copy of the installer (.dmg) in case my clones fail. I don't feel comfortable relying on something that requires an internet connection and a full download to work. But, that works for me; you may want to take a different approach.

Restart with the Option key held down, tab to the Mac OS X system, press Enter, and then select it in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences.

  • How can I boot into PartedMagic from a USB drive on a newer MacbookPro?

    Hello,
has anyone successfully booted into PartedMagic (or Gparted) from USB drive on a newer (2014) Macbook Pro? If so how? I've tried multiple ways of "burning" my ISO file to the USB drive but in no case am I able to boot into it. I seems to freeze a few seconds into the boot process. Somewhere I've read it might have something to do with EFI but I am not sure.
Looking forward to your feedback. JW

These are mpeg files probably mpeg 2 which iMovie won't import without conversion. Will they open in Quicktime player? If so do a command i and see what the inspector says about the file. MPEG Streamclip is a free app that will convert the Mpeg 2 to .Mov which iMovie will accept although it does require a converter you buy from Apple at $19 I think. Other converters are available just google for them.

  • How to remotely log into another Mac in a different state?

My Uncle owns an older Mac Pro running 10.6. He's new to Mac, so from time to time he calls me and asks me questions. I thought it might be easier to log onto his computer remotely and do what he needs to do, or show him - as he watches me - how to do things.
He's in NC and I am in FL. We tried to remotely connect earlier today, but had no luck.
All the tutorials out there say to go into System Preferences/Sharing and check both the Remote Login and Remote Management... but as I try to connect using the address it says to use, I cannot connect. I wondered if by some chance if the IP is wrong?
Can someone walk me through how to do this, and I mean very detailed instructions, cause we are both at our wits ends.
    Thanks!

Screen sharing that way only works over a local network, unless you do quite a bit of extra setup. You should use screen sharing via Messages/iChat.

  • How 2 boot into ubuntu live cd in macbook?

i dont know if this is the appropriate forum or not but here is my query... how do i boot into a ubuntu live cd in macbook? the cd works lfine on a windows laptop. do i need to make some bios settings? the bootup seems to just ignore the ubuntu cd.

Daft question, but you are selecting the cdrom as startup disk, by holding the letter C down on the keyboard as the machine boots, aren't you?
Personally I find holding down the 'alt/opt' key boot a better option, as the machine will show the bootable disks on the machine and then allow you to select the one you want. Not tried the ubuntu live, but this works fine with openSUSE and kubuntu 8.10 and on the icon I remember seeing the penguin next to the bootable cdrom. If the disk hasn't shown up in the graphical selection the chances are it is not a bootable disk.

  • HP Pavilion 14-n020se Dosent boot into recovery

So, I have the troublesome laptop (Model typed above). So I found a Single Language ISO of windows 8.1. And I installed it and Activated it. I booted into recovery once and then I did minimized system recovery. It did not work. And I kept getting BSOD. So I reinstalled Windows 8.1 again. Then I got a TDC-SDV (File). After that, I could not boot into recovery. Even after I kept pressing F11. It kept on booting into the normal OS. And trying to make my Recovery Partition Active is no choice for me. Because in Disk Management, I right click the recovery partition and I get no option but help. And in Disk Management I get two Recovery Drives. When I use command Propmt, It says that "The selected disk is not a fixed MBR Disk. The ACTIVE command can only be used on a fixed MBR disks." How do I boot into recovery? And if possible and anyone give me a copy of Windows 8 Pro? My father won't let me download from Microsoft upgrade product key only Software for some reason. And I can't find it anywhere on the Web.

  • Boot into Solaris without keyboard

May I know how I can boot into multi-session mode successfully without having my computer connected to a keyboard in x86?
I have already tuned BIOS setting. The setting left to tune should be in Solaris configuration.
    Thanks!

    Ok, I figured it out.
The bluetooth settings in system preferences were set to search for a keyboard.
So I unchecked the "Open Bluetooth Setup Assistant at startup when no input device is present" setting.

  • How can I boot my PXI controller into real-time without a floppy disk?

My PXI controller is in a lab which has intense magnetic fields that could corrupt the floppy disk used to boot the PXI controller into the LabVIEW Real-Time (RT) Operating System. How can I boot the PXI controller into real-time directly from the hard drive?

If you are using LabVIEW 5.1.2 Real-Time (RT), launch Remote System Explorer and select Disks >> Create Format Hard Drive Disk. If you have LabVIEW 6 RT, launch the Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) and select Tools >> RT PXI Disk Utilities >> Create Format Hard Drive Disk (LabVIEW RT 6 has not be released yet). Once you have created the disk, boot the PXI controller with the Format Hard Drive Disk, and this will format the PXI's hard drive and install the real-time OS boot loader. Now you can reboot the PXI without a floppy disk and configure the PXI using Remote System Explorer or MAX. Be aware that this will remove all information from the hard drive, including other operating systems.

  • Remote disc when booted into Windows via Bootcamp?

I have a PC only program that only works when the CD Rom is in the drive. My question is whether the remote disc functionality works when you are booted into the Windows side of the computer. I have installed the program i need to run on the windows side, however, it requires the physical disc to be inserted when the program runs. Can remote disc work for this?
Thanks in advance for any answers.

Good question. Here's what Apple provides:
MacBook Air- How to use Remote Disc to share DVDs or CDs on a Mac or Windows-based computer
MacBook Air- USB optical drive required for installing Boot Camp

  • How do I access the music from my Mac drive while booted into Windows?

How do I access the music from my Mac drive while booted into Windows via Bootcamp? I tried using MacDrive but it's not supported for Vista 64-bit edition. Is there another program out there that I can use? I just want to be able to access my music that's on Leopard while in Vista. Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Your best bet is to move the music on the Windows side since Leopard will be able to read and play the music from the mounted Windows drive (Leopard will not be able write anything to the Windows NTFS partition).
In your case it won't work the other way around.

  • G5 boots into sudo, can't get out. How do I "quit", the command "quit" doesn't work.

When I booted up my G5, 10.4.11 and signed into my user account it went into the BSD command page and it won't respond to any of the quit commands I know of.  Very inexperienced with this format.  How do I get into the normal shell?
If I'm in the wrong group please transfer me to the correct one.

  • How do I mount an external Firewire HD when booting into single user mode?

    Hi,
How can I mount an external Firewire Harddisk from the Darwin Console, once I have booted into single user mode?
I'm trying to make a backup of all my files and then re-install my iMac G5 since it doesn't start the GUI anymore and I haven't gotten any responses to my question here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1104762&tstart=0
    Thanks,
    Torsten

ok, I executed the following commands:
    /sbin/fsck -fy
    /usr/libexec/registermach_bootstrapservers /etc/mach_init.d
    autodiskmount
    There were two messages:
    UniNEnet: Ethernet address 00:14:51:32:19:b8
    and
Aug 29 20:55:29 launchd: server 2e3b in bootstrap 1103 uid 0: "/usr/sbin/lookupd"[16]: exited abnormally: Hangup
I don't know whether this has anything to do with the commands I entered.
And since I don't know what the volume name for the external Firewire HD is, I typed
    ls -l /Volumes
but the only volume that is being listed there is my iMac's internal HD.
    What should I do next?
    Thx!
