How to remotely wipe Iphone 3g

Can you remotely wipe an iphone (3g)

Find My Phone requires iOS 5.0 or higher & an iCloud account, neither of which are supported on an iPhone 3G. Thus, the answer to your question is no.
On some iPhone 3G's, that migrated from MobileMe to iCloud, Apple has stated that Find My Phone "may" work. However, Apple does not support this & recommends you not rely on this.

My iphone 5 was recently stolen. I had the service shut off, but I don't know how to remotely wipe out my data from my phone! Please help!!

YOu can only do that if you had find my iphone setup and activated prior to having your phone stolen.
Then you log into icloud.com to remote wipe, but your phone has to be connect to wifi or cellular data to do that.

  • Remote Wipe iPhone Without Using Exchange?

Is it possible to do a remote wipe on an iPhone without using Microsoft Exchange?
    Thanks,
    JB

No. It's a function of Exchange, not the phone.

  • How to remote wipe when device is offline

how do I reset passcode or wipe device?

If it is offline, you cannot do it. You can select the option and it will put it in a pending status for 24 hours, so that if the device comes online during that time, the action will take place.

  • Remote wipe device configured with Work Folders

I have implemented Work Folders in my environment but I'm not able to figure out how to remote wipe a device that's configured. I found a thread saying Exchange, we have Exchange 2013 but I can't find my computer in the list of devices.

    Hi,
After some researches, Remote wipe: It can be done with Intune or Exchange. Since you have exchange already, then for convenience, I'd like to share the following links with you:

we're not familiar with settings in Exchange server, it's recommended to ask the question in the Exchange forum, members have more resource and experience with this issue.

I just lost my iphone5 in a foreign country. Was not able to  previously register it with icloud and have not installed the findmy iphone app. How can i wipe out my data remotely without these setups? Is there any good app i can use to track it? Please help!

No, nothing you can do to track it if you did not take any measures before the loss.

  • Iphone 4s stolen. Selected remote wipe via Icloud. Received email hours later saying it was happening. Here's the problem: according to Verizon, the phone is still using data. How is this possible? Wouldn't the user have to register the device with Apple?

So, if a remote wipe occurred as the email stated, how did the person with the phone immediately go back to using the data on the phone.  Wouldn't the person have to register the Iphone through Itunes?  I got the email saying the erase was happening at 11:10.  Looking at my cellular data usage, the phone began using data about that time after about a 12 hour break. So it seems like Find my Iphone quickly picked up the phone.  But then the phone continued using data for about 3 more hours.  How could the person be using the phone if it had just been wiped?

I understand that iCloud's erase function is totally distinct from Verizon's cellular service (i.e. the phone could be wiped and Verizon would never know).  It's been a while since I've activated an Iphone through Itunes, but when you activate the phone don't you have to register it?  If the iPhone was wiped at 11:10, how could it be using data at 11:15 and consistently for the next three hours.  How long does the Itunes registration process take?

  • How to wipe iphone clean remotely if lost/stolen?

How do you wipe (destroy) all content on your iphone if it is lost/stolen? I haven't lost my iphone, but I want to know how if it is lost or stolen.
I know this is possible because I watched the keynote address of Steve Jobs and he explained that since the iphone has the capabilities of syncing with your computer remotely, you have the power to completely wipe your iphone clean if it is lost/stolen, yet I have not seen any information anywhere on how to do this. Obviously I can't plug it into my computer to wipe it clean if it is lost/stolen, so how do you do it remotely?

Just restore the phone in iTunes and set it up as a new phone.
is there any way to keep the apps I have bought on there?
They will sync back as they are store in iTunes.

  • I didn't put Remote Wipe on my iPhone how can I cancel it

    Someone activated Remote Wipe on my iPhone 3GS & it's scheduled for 06/15 @ 3am . How can I cancel this ???

  • How to prevent Remote Wipe if iPhone is still offline

I thought I lost my iPhone 5s, so I blocked and told iCloud to erase it the next time it connects.
Now that I found it, I know that as soon as it gets internet connection, all my information will be gone.
For my luckiness, it is turned off, and furthermore it has received neither wifi nor internet connection. (My phone provider had turned off data before I lost it.)
So, I know my information is still alive.
Now that I found it, I want to backup everything before the unavoidable happens (reseting).
Is there any way that I can stop the remote wipe from happening?

  • How exactly does "remote wipe" via Mobile Me work?

In a moment of curiosity I decided to enjoy the new features of Mobile Me for the iPhone's 3.0 software. I tried the locate phone function, worked great. I then decided to try the remote wipe functionality of the website. I had the phone right in front of me, so I figured I'd see how it worked.
I initiated the process (with my phone sitting on my desk in front of me) and the phone within an instance turned off and went to the Apple logo. It stayed on the Apple logo for a few seconds and then turned off. At which point I received an email stating that the remote wipe process had been initiated at 4:23pm (PST) yesterday.
Unsure how long the process took I let the phone sit for 4 hours. I went to turn it on, same thing: Apple logo for 10 seconds and the phone turned off. I figured it was low on battery (despite having a full charge prior to the remote wipe) so I docked it while plugged into my machine. (Apple logo for 10 seconds and the phone turned off)
Fast forward to 10:23am PST this morning (18 hours later) and I'm still dealing with the same thing.
Anyone else try the remote wipe feature? Have any success? I'm inclined to believe that the phone isn't going to wake up at this point. But I was curious if anyone else shared in my curiosity.

Use these instructions and you're phone will be back in service asap:
    1. Wake your iphone up so you see the apple logo
    2. Hold down the power button (the one on top) and the home button until the screen goes black.
    3. This turns the phone off, don't keep holding the button or the phone will restart
    4. Now that the phone is off, press and hold the home button
    5. While holding the home button connect your phone back to your computer, continue to hold the home button until itunes says it has found a phone that needs to be restored.
    6. restore phone
Basically your just turning the phone off and putting it in force recovery mode

  • Can iPhone still be identified after remote wipe?

Got my iPhone stolen. The person turned it off right away. So far it has been offline. I have been sending messages and locking commends through iCloud.com, but have not chosen the remote wipe option yet.
Is it possible for a stolen iPhone be identified after restore? An iPhone has a series number, I assume iTunes would be able to identify this number somehow. Can anything be done on this front?

Thanks for replying. The following posting by Kappy seems to be very comprehensive information posting on lost/stolen iPhones. I have tried to make sure all my Apple products are properly registered. That's step one. We will see how things go.
