How to remove 10.6.8 system update?

After Installing 10.6.8 system update, my mac book pro panics randomly. I really really really want to remove the system update. What is the proper procedure for removing a system update?
This is beyond annoying!!!!!!
Apple is irresponsible to push out junky system update out just like this without testing!!!!

The first one is where the panic occurred, so you might try removing whatever the mouse is and its driver to see if the problem is resolved. Alternatively, boot into Safe Mode and see if the panics stop.

Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
Do the following:
1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed with reinstalling OS X. Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files. After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download the appropriate Combo Updater to return to the version you desire from support.apple.com/downloads/.

My son installed a program to modify his webcam when on Skype to friends etc. As he no longer uses it we decided to remove it from the system. Found the program and dragged it to trash.
But now whenever we open the webcam it defaults to the no-longer installed program input
I can not find any other files the program has left behind.
But in system information CamMask is still listed.
Is there a way I can remove this from being recognised?

Any third-party software that doesn't install by drag-and-drop into the Applications folder, and uninstall by drag-and-drop to the Trash, is a system modification.
Whenever you remove system modifications, they must be removed completely, and the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the developers, or to follow their instructions. If the software has been incompletely removed, you may have to re-download or even reinstall it in order to finish the job.
I never install system modifications myself, and except as stated in this comment, I don't know how to uninstall them. You'll have to do your own research to find that information.
Here are some general guidelines to get you started. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickMyMac” (a hypothetical example.) First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickmymac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the Web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, contact the developer. I just tried to reinstall the SUP on the Primary site(only one SUP on Primary site and there is a SUP on Secondary site). The SUP upstream data source of the Secondary site showed empty and greyed out. But the upstream data source resumed after a while.
It seems nothing special needs to be done.

How do I Re-Install Lenovo System Update

Hi guys, System Updated crashed everytime I ran it so I posted a note asking for help well now I have a new "problem", I am unable to run System Update, when I do I get an error message advising "you can only run one instance of System Update at a time and System Update is aready running". That would be fine except System Update is NOT running so whatever glitch I had before has morphed into this latest glitch and my question is, can someone please advise me HOW TO RE-INSTALL SYSTEM UPDATE?

check out for any reigistry entires where system update is still present...it requires .net framework 2.0 to run i guess if its not opening do one thing install it and use the automated recovery solutions where you can find a direct link for running system updates

How to remove LexSleeperX from the system profiler?

I installed a Lexmark printer on my macbook pro and everytime I startup my mac I get this error message. I deleted the printer but I still get this error message. I looked in the system profiler but I am unable to delete it from there. How do I remove this error message my mac?

Here are the steps:
1. Go to Mac HD > Library > StartupItems.
2. Look for "LexSleeperX.app" and drag it to the trash.
3. Make sure the file is no longer present on the StartupItems folder.
4. Restart your mac.
5. The message should no longer appear.

Has anyone yet removed codepage (customer codepages) from the system.
If so, could you please tell me how to do so?
I tryed with SPAD, but the option "delete" is always inactive. This customer codepages are also not found with transaction SCP.
I want to delete them, because these are old test-codepages which I don't want to convert regarding my forthcoming unicode-conversion.

the problem is, that these customer codepages (in my case: 9000, 9001 and 9002) don't show up in rscpinst, and they're also not in table TCPDB.
I can only see these codepages in transaction SPAD, and they generate an error/warning at the unicode check.
These codepages are in table TCP00 and the characters are in TCP02.

How to remove xcode 4.3.3 update from mountain lion Appstore

I moved my old xcode 4.3.1 installation from the application folder to the trash. I also deleted /Developer (prevoius xcode installations)
Now the AppStore want to update to xcode 4.3.3. But I can't update, because I installed mountain lion. For mountain lion I use xcode 4.4 and 4.5 beta's.
How can I remove this update 4.3.3 from the AppStore??

That's life. You will probably always have that Xcode in there and Lion too. The App Store keeps track of its apps. If you install something newer on your own, the App Store can't handle that. See if you can hide the purchase: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4928

I have the same issue and have come to the conclusion that its much better to live a peaceful life without the ovi store then to be worried about it and start hating your gorgeous e7 even more all the ovi apps are available over the internet you can download them from some other website .... unfortunately till nokia doesnt do another anna update this trouble will not be solved.... people will tell you to get your phone flashed from ncc but i think thats pathetic that you pay this much money and keep running to ncc to fkash your phone after every update, so just relax and enjoy the standard stuff and hoppe that nokia makes some magical anna update which cures it all

How to remove Classic from a system where it is installed?

To trash Classic:
1. Backup your data in case you make a mistake.
2. Make sure no Application in Applications Mac OS 9 folder lists itself in Get Info as an Application (as opposed to Classic Application). Any that are just plain Applications are designed to run natively in both Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X and can be moved to the Applications folder, assuming they didn't install special components that required them to stay in the Applications Mac OS 9 folder to work.
3. Drag both the Applications Mac OS 9 and the System Folder (containing the Control Panels and Apple Menu Items folder) into the trash. Do NOT trash the folder named System which belongs to Mac OS X.
4. Secure Empty Trash from the Finder File menu. If that takes too long, you can use http://www.macosxcocktail.com/ 's software Cocktail. This software is kind of a swiss army knife, and should only be used for specific functions when needed. Ask before using a utility within it, if you are unsure how it might affect your system.
5. Verify all the applications you use work.

This would be contradictory to dataflow.
If you need loop data elsewhere in the code while the loop is running, you have many possible solutions (queues, functional globals, locals variables, etc.). Please explain in a bit more details what you want to do. Do you have processes running in parallel? Where should the loop data "flow" exactly?

In 10gR2, you can drop a datafile from tablespace, as long it's empty (and of course not the last one):
ALTER TABLESPACE tbs_03 DROP DATAFILE 'tbs_f04.dbf';
Otherwise, there's no direct way to get rid of the file. You can just shrink it and move (i.e. "rename") it another location. For a non-system tablespace, move of all segments to another tablespace (and later renaming it) would be an option, but this of course won't work with system tablespace.

How to remove Help - About - "Check for updates"

I need to disable completelly all update possibilities from Firefox 4 installation and this is still something that I have not been able to remove.
inside omni.jar I have found similar configuration files that have been working also in prevoius FF versions and have been able to remove update tab completelly from Tools - Options -> Advanced but I have not been able to remove this update button from FF.
I thought that I found correct file to change:
"omni.jar\chrome\browser\content\browser -> aboutdialog.xul" but modifying that does not affect at all to this About - check for updates button.
Any ideas? I have tried to check other files also for this, but have not yet found anything, unfortunately...

A possibility is to use CSS code in userChrome.css or create an extension that adds this code.
