How to remove 8.1 HD Tiles App

I have this app installed on my 1520 + Cyan + Update 1 and yesterday morning I was notified that 1 app needed "attention". It was the 8.1 HD Tiles app. I have tried for 2 days to update the app and finally decided to remove it (maybe later reinstall it) but it won't uninstal, its still there just grayed out and it still reports it needs 'attention' and will not update or anything. How do I either update it or uninstall it?

Hi,
We are extremely sorry about the bug. The problem is with the latest Windows phone OS. Windows Phone 8.1 has a bug while updating a free app that has now become paid. The only way to get the update is to uninstall and reinstall the app from it's web site. Even then, you will be asked to pay for installation. This seems to be a major bug, but they are not to keen to fix this.

How to remove "notes" link in Mail.app

I just upgraded from 10.5 to 10.6, now that there is a version of PGPMail which works with Mail 4.0. The new Mail.app is showing a "Notes" item, which I've never seen before, and which I don't want. Call me strange, but I use Mail for email, not as a notepad.
I've found several hints telling how to make Mail.app store them on the local hard drive instead of in an IMAP account, but nothing I've done is making that "Reminders > Notes" item in the folder list go away. Again, I don't want to see it at all.
I was able to delete the one RSS feed they insist on subscribing me to, and that made the RSS group go away. Is it possible to just turn off the "Notes" functionality entirely? It's a feature I don't want, I won't use, and to be honest I don't understand why Apple added it to Mail.app to begin with.

No, Default iOS Apps cannot be removed. You can however remove the account from Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars so the Mail app no longer fetches your email and as such no longer beeps when there is mail.

The actionContent is setup like that, I know like with most mxml stuff I could give it an ID to reference it but im not sure how how to give the action content an id number `<s:actionContent id="testID">` does not work. So how can i access this to remove it? making it invisible isn't cutting it i need to actually remove it.

How to remove an account - cannot download apps

I have recently been bought an ipad. When the iPad was first used, my daughter-in-law used her own account to add some files. Since then I have removed her account details in 'settings'/'general' and added my own, along with setting up an Apple account and new itunes account. However, when I try to install APP updates, it asks for my daughter-in-law's password for her account. I have signed out and in with my own via itunes, yet still it asks for her password (only for the App downloads). How do I go about removing her information or logging out so I can access the updates for my account on my iPad?

You should be able to log out of her account by going into Settings > Store and tapping on the account on the right-hand side and then log-in with yours. Any apps that your daughter-in-law bought/downloaded on the iPad are tied to her account, and can only be updated by her account (so you may want to delete them) - apps are tied to the account that downloaded them, not to the device that they are on, and they can't be transferred to another account.

I hate that I had to remove apps I bought and paid for, to make space for these apps that Apple has forced on us with the iOS8 upgrade, that I do not want or need. He's talking about the fact that a U2 album was made available as a free download for all iTunes customers. But at no point did Apple force them to download to a device. It was always optional. So, no Apple customer ever lost space on their device because of this free album, no more so than I lost space when I bought an album on iTunes via my computer but chose not to download it to my device.
And the OP is complaining that a few apps (that take up very little space in the first place) are part of the iOS now. The OP needs to manage their available storage better, or buy an iPhone with larger capacity.

You were right, I used migration assistant earlier and it seems that it created another folder for keynote and pages ( /Applications/iWork '09 ) and I missed to see it. Deleting it solved my issue. Thanks for the tip!

Two years ago my macbook crashed and I had to use a friends external HDD to restore my mac. It worked like a charm and I never looked back. Around a year ago I started to get prompts to update certain apps but I couldn't update those apps as It was still tied to his Itunes accounts. I recently finished school so I have no way of contacting him to get his password. Is there a way to bypass this? Or am I forced to do a complete reset? Also the computer shows up as his name which I assume was because he restored his entire computer into mine. Anyways thanks for the read and cheers. Btw I foolishly threw away the app disc and restore disc while I was cleaning my room one day.

Basically all of the software on your Mac belongs to him and technically at this point is pirated. You should erase the HDD and restore the original version of OS X that shipped on the Mac. If that was Snow Leopard, you need your original Restore DVDs that shipped with the Mac. If it was Lion, Mt Lion or Mavericks, use OS X Recovery, likely over the internet.

you can't from the iPad.
Go to iTunes on a computer, log in with your apple ID and select 'account'.
After that , select 'payment method' and select 'none'.

How do I remove unwanted updates from the App Store? So you understand better what I'm referring to:
I have the App Store icon in the Dock. When there's an update a red number appears on said icon. Well, I went to check on the updates and it's for 4 different applications I either no longer have or use. One of them is an update for Lion OS users. I'm still on Snow Leopard, so it doesn't even apply to me.
So there they sit... I'm not going to download the updates... so how do I get rid of them?

If there are updates available for apps you have deleted, try this.
Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore
Move the Cache.db and Updates files from the com.apple.appstore folder to the Trash.
Empty the Trash, restart your Mac.
For any apps you still have installed but do not use, the updates will still be available from the Updates top of the App Store window and show on the red badge on the App Store icon in the Dock.
