How to remove all traces of deleted user

I created an user account to troubleshoot an application a while ago (I am using Leopard). Having resolved the issue, I deleted that account. However, yesterday, I had problems with another program, and created another account with the same user name, and found that the account have "remembered" the changes I made the last time I used it (even after deleting it). I was hoping that it will be a fresh install of the user account and fresh settings. Does anyone know how I can do that? Thanks in advance for your help.

V.K. thank you for taking the time to reply. Well, they are there. In spite of me deleting the account a while back, and then recreating the account using the user name. Was a bit puzzled about it, and am new to Mac, so that's why I popped in to ask whether the system does remember the users despite deletion. How can I find out why this has occurred?
I have no idea frankly. it should not be possible. maybe your home directory didn't get deleted somehow when you deleted that user. another possibility is if you use mobileme and sync your ical and other data with the mobileme server.

  • Can't Login to SharePoint as an invited External User / Can't Remove All Traces of External User with Microsoft Account

    Hi TechNet,
    I have an MS SharePoint Online (SharePoint Plan 2) team site, quite simple, one document library etc.
    I have successfully added all users (E3) within the organisation to groups, and permissioned correctly.
    I have added myself (separate organisation, also Office 365 E3) as an External User, and have access to the website without any problems by authenticating with my Organization account e-mail address.
    I have a single user (separate organisation, also Office 365 E3), who's setup is identical to mine (Also Office 365 E3).
    However, when this user is added as an External User, they are unable to login, and get "Sign In is not complete":
    That didn't work
    We're sorry, but [email protected] can't be found in the CLIENT1.sharepoint.com directory. Please try again later, while we try to automatically fix this for you.

    URL: https://CLIENT1.sharepoint.com/
    User: [email protected]
    Issue Type: Partner User Invalid.
    I then remove the user using the Site Collection, and using the PRofile Manager, and using Remove-SPOUser, and using Remove-SPOExternalUser. Which is great, he's gone. However when I go to add him back to a group, as soon as I type his e-mail address, it
    'Resolves' into his full name! If I have completely(?) removed him form the site, how is he being resolved? And therefore me trying to remove him to re-add him to try and solve the user/directory/auth issue is not working.
    Furthermore, upon clicking on said client's username inside SharePoint (after I've 'added him back' of course), his ID, in format: i:0#.f|membership|live.com#[email protected] has an entirely different e-mail address, his Microsoft Account!
    I'm assuming he must have been already signed into his Microsoft Account when he clicked on the External User e-mail invite? If so, I clearly do not want this, how can I remove lal traces of his Microsoft Account, given that I have gone to the lengths as
    detailed above?
    I have already completed these steps: http://community.office365.com/en-us/forums/148/p/228263/709905.aspx

    Please let me know if you need any more information regarding this issue, and thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light on this situation for me and anyone whom encounters it in the future.
    Regards,
    Evanly.

    Hi Scott,
    Thank you so much for taking the time to read and respond to my issue.
    Certainly, it makes sense that regardless of where the invitation it sent, the user would authenticate with their Microsoft ID.
    In my case, I want the user to authenticate using their Microsoft Organisation ID, that they use for their seperate Office 365 account.
    This is the way I was able to log in, and worked great. With my client, they are unable to access Sharepoint because once they sign in with their Microsoft Organisation / Office 365 ID, they are told they are not in the directory, because their Microsoft
    ID is in the directory and it doesn't match up.
    I am simultaneously trying to 1) Remove all traces of this users Microsoft ID, which so far using the above steps, has been unsuccessful; and 2) Invite the user using his Microsoft Organisation ID, and have him authenticate with that (which is proved to
    work, as my account uses this).
    Looking forward to any more suggestions. Thanks in advance!

  • How to remove all traces of previous owner's name on my ibook?

    I am the new owner of a used iBook. Instead of loading the original, outdated, 10.3.9 install DVD which came with the computer, I bought 10.4 and did a clean install (may have been just an upgrade?) Though I changed the Admin ID password from that of the previous owner's, and have no problem doing all admin tasks and using the computer fully and without hassles, I still cannot:
    1. get rid of the previous owner's name ("This computer is owned by xxx" appears on the finder's "home" windows)
    2. get rid of the previous owner's home folder
    Do I have to first do a clean install with the original 10.3.9 disk before I can have a clean version of 10.4 free of the previous owner's name anywhere on my computer? Or is there a short cut, given that it seems ridiculous to erase 10.4, and step back in time, just to change the owner's name?
    Any help is appreciated!
    PP

    While Kappy's advice is spot on, I would consider an erase and install. The iBook would probably be fine if you do what Kappy said. However any computer can suffer from a few corrupt files here and there, even if it is meticulously maintained. If your 'book's previous owner didn't bother to erase his/her home folder, I'd be willing to bet they didn't follow a regular schedule (or any schedule) of making sure the iBook was in top shape. It's overkill I admit, but if I bought a used Mac, I'd erase the HD and reinstall everything. Actually, if I sold my Mac, I'd erase everything and do a clean install before passing it on to a new owner. It could save you from doing the erase and install in a month once you've got everything setup just the way you want and a re-install would be more of a hassle.
    But you'd probably be fine with what Kappy said. Just my 2 cents...

    How do I remove all traces of  'album'? I do not want artwork, blank place holders, titles or artists sorted by album? I just want my music listed by title, artist or genre.

    1, you can't at the moment, though with iOS 5 in the Autumn, from http://www.apple.com/ios/ios5/features.html#photos :
    Even organize your photos in albums — right on your device
    2, by removing it from you synced from and re-syncing. Only photos taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad (either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view)
    3, the location of the photos that you synced to the iPad should be listed on the iPad's Photos tab when connected to your computer's iTunes.
    4, you can copy the photos from your iPad to your computer : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 . You should also be able to delete them from the iPad as part of the transfer process to your computer, and it's then your choice whether to add them to your sync photo list so as to copy them back to the iPad. Copying them to your computer would allow you to organise them into folders and therefore be able to sync them back into separate albums.
    5, I don't use Dropbox either. There are some third-party browser apps in the iTunes App Store that allow you to download pages so that you can view them when offline e.g. Atomic Web (the whole page is saved within Atomic Web, it doesn't place a photo into the Photos app)
    6, deleting content should help. If you remove an app from your iPad then you also remove the content that it's got on the iPad - so if you then decide to reinstall it back onto the iPad then you will need to manually add back any content that you want in it. None of the Apple built-in apps (including Photos) can be removed from the iPad

  • Second-hand MacBook - How to completely remove all traces of previous owner (inc. Apple ID) & start as clean as possible, while retaining factory software?

    Hey guys,
    New to the forum and after a bit of advice.
    Have just picked up my first MacBook from a friend and am wanting to start as clean/close to factory as possible, removing all traces of their Apple ID and Account info.
    Have read a few posts and it seems that my MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010) came pre-installed with Snow Leopard (10.6.3/10.6.4).
    In Linc Davis post here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5350317
    he says that "If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the gray installation discs that came with it. If you don't have the discs, order replacements from Apple."
    My friend is adamant that he received no software with the purchase from new. Everything came pre-loaded.
    So I've downloaded OS X Mavericks and created a bootable USB installer. If I do a clean install using this method, will that remove all traces of the previous owner (Apple ID and account info), allowing me to start as clean as possible while still giving me access to the original pre-loaded software that came with the MacBook from new? Once installed, can I then just add my own Apple ID and perform any updates to this software as normal?
    Since I don't think it shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, I will be unable to boot into Internet Recovery to try and restore if necessary, before upgrading to Mavericks.
    Thanks for any help. Hopefully it's not as complicated as it sounds!

    Yes and Yes
    OK, so I'd still have access to iPhoto etc., even though all purchases would still be linked with friends Apple ID?
    I don't quite understand how this works..
    If I do a clean install, and my new Apple ID has no history behind it, how does it know what software was paid for/pre-installed if that account is no longer tied to this computer?

  • How do i remove all traces of a print driver

    I need to remove all traces of my print driver for my canon printer.
    I loaded my canon iP pixma 4000R with a print driver i downloaded. It seems to be a japanese version as the paper standards are all a bit strange. No 4x6 option, instead, something called Hagaki that does not quite fit. Canon says to reinstall the driver from the US website.
    When I try to, it always asks me if I want to "upgrade". If I say yes, then I end up with the same print options. I think I need to fully delete and install the driver from new.
    I delete the printer from printer list. I've been going through library files, but I don't know what else to delete.
    Anybody have any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Tony

    I would try Printer Setup Repair from Fixamac software. I believe version 5.0.3 is for Tiger. I am sure this program can do the job for you!

    This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
    Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
    Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes.
    If, on the otherhand, you've been cleaning up your media from Explorer rather than iTunes and just want to eliminate the now broken links, use Tunes Folder Watch with its option to check for dead tracks on startup.

  • How to Completely remove all traces of an applicat...

    Please i own a nokia E5 and there is this application named '2go' (.jar app) its kinda like an IM client. When i install it to my phone memory, it works... but aways gets stuck at the part where it loads my friends. But when i install it to my memory card, it works great the first time i open it. Then after i'm done using it, i close it.. Also takes long to close, so i just use the Red button... And when i ty to open it the second time, i get an application error. Please help me on a way to totally remove all traces of this app on my phone and memory card. Thank you!

    You should be able to remove it as you would other applications: highlight the icon and press Options -> Remove. Another way would be to find the program in Control Panel -> Application Manager -> Installed Apps and remove it from there. My understanding is that Symbian Platform Security is very good at removing all parts of a program, unlike Windows uninstalls, for example. If it won't uninstall, post the details of what happened.

  • How to remove all hyperlinks at once?

    Hi guys,
    I want to know how to remove all hyperlinks in a text at once. I know how to remove one link at a time. But it's time consuming if you paste a text with a lot of hyperlinks.
    Thanks,
    Adriano.

    Duplicate your document for safe then drag and drop the icon of the copy of the icon of this script saved as an application.
    --[SCRIPT remove links]{code}
    Enregistrer le script en tant qu'Application ou Progiciel : remove links.app
    Déposez le sur le bureau par exemple.
    Glisser-déposer l'icône d'un document Pages sur celle du script
    va éliminer tous les Hyperliens et signets prédsents dans le document.
    On peut également qlisser déposer un fichier index.xml.
    +++++++
    Save the script as an Application or an Application Bundle: remove links.app
    Store it on the desktop for instance.
    Drag and drop the icon of a Pages document on the script's icon
    to remove the Hyperlinks and Bookmarks embedded in the document.
    We may also drag & drop an index.xml file.

  • Can a Mac with OS X 10.4 remove all traces of prior ownership?

    I inadvertently posted this earlier to the OS X 10.5 Leopard board. Got a solution for 10.5, but alas this machine is an oldie and will only handle OS X 10.4. Read on ...
    I have a many-years-old 600 MHz PowerPC G3 iMac (Snow White) that I'm planning to sell or donate. Is there documentation anywhere on how to wipe all traces of my ownership? I've done a clean reinstall of Mac OS X v. 10.4.1, upgraded to 10.4.11, so there's no remaining documents or settings, but the install required me to enter registration information, e-mail address, etc.
    How can I hand off a fully configured Mac that can be customized by the new owner to his/her specifications and that leaves no personal data behind? i.e. is just as it comes from the factory.
    Thanks.

    If you have wiped the drive, (zero-overwritten & reformatted) then go and
    install a new system, +quit the Installer prior to the personalization+ section;
    then there is no need to 'deauthorize this computer' from iTunes store.
    In fact, the only reference to the computer would be, as you mentioned,
    in the other records to the owned computers listed as 'authorized' in the
    iTunes store itself. Of course, you covered that in a way; but the actual
    computer without any online records within it, which has been wiped,
    would not be able to reconnect to the iTunes store & the former account.
    If the computer had been totally restored from a fully erased hard disk
    drive with a new installation of the prospective OS X version, and then
    the computer minimally personalized to the point where further OS X
    updates to the 10.4 system were done, so it has 10.4.11, all Java update,
    last QuickTime, last Security Update, recent browser(s), Flash/Shockwave;
    and maybe a copy of OnyX by Titanium Software; etc.
    Then, there's a way to have the computer re-run the Setup, so the first install-
    user account wiped out; and a new first-run on restart Setup will commence
    when the new owner gets the computer home and starts it up.
    Except, the computer would already have all available updates installed;
    yet would be non-personalized and act like a new computer on first start.
    This information, using Terminal or other super-user access, has been
    noted and detailed elsewhere in the Apple Support Discussions. And this
    is what I was referring to in an earlier post; it removes all traces of prior
    ownership and does allow the new owner to not have to figure out how
    to go through and update the recent the OS X on an old OS. For some
    new users of Mac OS X, they are too lost to even get into this process.
    Anyway, hopefully you've found satisfactory results in the paths available
    to prepare the computer for a second owner, so their experience is as
    good as it can be without any uncharacteristic issues for a new owner.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • How to remove all instance in a repeatable subform (bis)

    Hi Niall,
    A few years ago, you helped a user who asked "How to remove all instance in a repeatable subform". Please could you do again with approximately the same problem ?
    In a click event, I have the script "_CarteEN.addInstance();". Well ! Many cards appear. To protect them, I put above a mask (it's a button with a background Fill). Now, how can I do to remove all masks with only one click using the resetdata or anything else...
    I try this but it doesn't work.
    while (flowedSubform.CarteEN._CacheCV.count > 2)
         flowedSubform.CarteEN._CacheCV.removeInstance(1);
    Many thanks for your help !

    There is no subform named "flowedSubform"
    The "CacheCV" is not a container object (subform). so you can't access the instanceManger of this object.
    the below lines should work
    while(_CarteEN.count >1)
         _CarteEN.removeInstance(1);
    Nith
