How to remove an app icon from Launchpad but not uninstall it without remove it from the Application folder?

Move it into a folder or a page you don't use.
You could likely edit the database if you understand SQL, but I dont' know if it gets rebuilt periodically.
But, there is no UI to hide/remove items from Launchpad.

Mavericks downloads into the Applications folder, where you can install it. Some Mac App Store Troubleshooting information and how to resume a download that was interrupted; some of the information here might get you an answer. Failing that, try contacting Apple Support.

I would like to have all of my phone apps in one place (home computer), When I switched from laptop to desktop the phone apps in itunes didn't migrate to the new computer. I try to sync the phone to the desktop all of the old apps that are on the laptop are deleted and vice versa. Is there some simple solution that I'm missing here? Suggestions?
Whenever you sync to a different iTunes library all will delete all iTunes media (apps, music, etc.) will be deleted and replaced with the media in the new library. To prevent this, transfer your apps and other purchaed media to the new library and establish syncing with the new library without data loss, follow the steps in this guide: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141.

The program has already been deleted from the applications folder, but I cannot drag the ice into the trash.

You can't permanently delete any items from your purchase history, but you should be able to hide them from the Purchased tab via your computer's iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919
If your iPad is on iOS 7 then after hiding them on your computer you may need to log out of your account on your iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in for them to be hidden from the Purchased tab -

The combo update may replace anything you have inadvertently deleted.

You can reapply it over the top of any previously downloaded version. I see that your profile says 10.6.8.

Hi we've lost the itunes icon from the applications folder. How do we get it back and where has it gone? I dragged it off the dock by accident and dragged it from the applications folder to the desktop then to the dock. But now we've lost it.

How to delete Duplicate app Icon on Desktop?
Hey, I have done this in the past with previous applications on my imac, but I just got a macbook pro. I was adding apps to my dock, ones I had removed earlier. I dragged the application to my desktop not realizing I couldn't delete the duplicate icons after! Simply dragging to the trash will delete the entire app, I've tried dragging back into my applications folder but it says it can't be modified. Help!
Is the app still in Applications?
If so, you've just made a copy of the application and can delete the copy.
Mountain Lion tries to protect the Applications folder from inadvertant moving of things, especially since putting things in the Dock might result in accidentally dropping. It will normally make an alias, but I haven't tested with every possibility. When you dropped it, you made a copy on your desktop. If you dragged that copy to the Dock, then drag it back out and use the one in the Applications folder. -
How InDesign comes to know about any changes on document, but not saved. As it shows * on the name of document when it is opened and any changes.
And after saving * symbol is get removed from the name of document. How and where indesign@ handles this?Are you just asking because you want to know, or do you have a problem you need to solve? I don't know how to write a program, but I think what your are describing is not an unusual thing for a program to do. The * tells you that changes have been made since the last save, and the program reserves a portion of memory for undo functions. I suppose a coder could tell you how it works, but I don't think it would help an average user to know, but that's just my opinion.

Go to iTunes, click on Apps in the left window, to bring up your app library. Then click on "check for updates" in the right window, bottom corner. If there are any updates available, you'll be notified of the number and you'll have to choose the apps you want to update in the next screen shown, or update them all at once after filling in your password.
You can also click on one app in the library and choose "get info" to see the actual version saved in your library. -
