How to remove an app on the iphone 5s

how do i remove an app from my iphone 5s

The builtin apps that came with it cannot be deleted.  The apps you installed can be deleted by holding an app until they start to shake and get a black circle with an X in it.  Touch the black circle and they are deleted.
If you are talking about dismissing an app but not deleting, double tap the home button, then swipe the material sitting above the app's icon up and off the top of the screen.

Touch on the app and hold down for about 5 seconds. After that the icons are moving slightly and you could tap on the near the app icon to remove the app from your iPhone.

How can I remove duplicate songs from the iPhone4. The duplicates are not listed in the computer iTunes library.

The simplest thing may be to back-up and then restore the iPhone. If you don't fancy that then remove all media that is currently synced to it, then double check and manually remove any media that remains on the device, before reselecting your sync options.
If you've been manually managing the device and your library doesn't contain copies of all your media then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

  • How to delete an app from the iPhone 5s registry?

I have an app which was from a third party vendor. I have deleted the app from the phone. However, when I reset the phone the icon reappears. When I press the icon it does nothing. I can remove it by deleting the icon. I want to permanently delete the icon. A friend of mine said I may have to go into the registry of the phone to do that. What is the best way to accomplish getting rid of the icon permanently?

Thanks for the suggestion. Please allow me to provide a little more detail...
This started with an iPhone 4s and jail broken. Back up was performed to transfer info to new iphone 5s and this came along with it... I had same problem on old iphone. I am looking for solution to remove it permanently.
Any other thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.
Right there is your problem.  Per the term of use of this forum you can't get any help for a jailbroken phone.
YOu will have to look elsewhere.

  • [iPhone] Does somebody know how to remove an App from the App Store?

And how long will it take before Apple pulls the App out of the App Store?
And a last question: If I change the price of an App, how fast will the price be changed in the Store?
    Any experiences out there?
    Many thanks in advance

I think I read somewhere that if you set a release date in the future the
    app gets removed.
If you change a price it should change in the store within 24 hours.

  • How do I sync Apps to the iPhone 5 when I have two Apple IDs

I received my iPhone 5 last night and followed Apple's instruction on backing up my iPhone 4 to the cloud and restoring it to the new iPhone. Here's the problem: some of my older apps (those purchased with a different Apple ID) didn't make it to the new phone. Is there a way to move those to the cloud and restore those to the new phone too?
    Thanks,
    Chris

How have you managed to get apps on your phone that are tied to a different and unknown AppleID?
If these apps were not purchased by you, having them is effectively software piracy and you should purchase them using your own AppleID if you want to keep hem.

  • I don't know how to install an App to the iPhone

    Folks,
I have some apps that I would like to put on my & my wife's iPhone. The Apple community drives me nuts (0 help thus far) & getting help for printing the iTunes user guide (does it exist? someone give me the link?) Waiting on the external phone for Verizon (they did help me update to iOS 6.1.2 but were supposed to call me at home & never did AFAIK!). Could some kind soul outline the exact steps including iTunes settings (assuming that is necessary)?

To install apps, you can use the App Store app, not iTunes. Open the App Store, find an app that's you want to install, click the INSTALL button in the upper right, enter your Apple ID password and the download should start.

  • How do I remove unwanted apps in the general settings of a iphone ?

How do I remove unwanted apps in the general settings of a iphone ?
I am not talking about apps that you touch and hold and can delete, but in the general setting area.
I never will use Nike, Twitter or any of the other apps that apple put in this phone.
I want them out of the general settings, so why cant I get them out. I own the phone not apple.

Many devices have extra information that you cannot remove. On other phones carriers can install a great deal of other information that is called bloatware. At least that cannot be done on the iPhone, but it does have its share of things that people want to remove. Again, the feedback link is where you need to address your thoughts. • How do I remove standard apps from an iPhone 5?

I am an IT in a government office who just switched our fleet to iPhones.  We are not permitted to use certains apps that are either not in our data contract, touch the Cloud, or cause cost/personnel issues.  Those items I try to corral in a folder "Unusable Apps" on a separate page where the user has little eye contact with them (outta sight outta mind right).  I go through the motions of turning off every notification, update, share feature, etc. I can find but the icons are still on the phone.  I have a fleet of about 100 iPhones and at least half my users are sneaky & curious and often try to reactivate things I have already hidden or turned off per our agency telecommunications policy.  I just want them removed all together so I don't have to keep going through this and for those who can't fight temptation - they won't have to anymore.  How do I remove standard apps from an iPhone 5?

You may want to repost this in one of the iPhone for Business forums:
    https://discussions.apple.com/community/iphone/iphone_in_business_and_education
You'll want to ask about Configurator.
My company uses iPads as part of a Point of Sale System. They have restricted access to many of the built in apps and deployed custom apps.
    Best of luck.

  • How do I remove all apps from my iPhone?

How do I bulk remove all apps from my iPhone? There has to be a better way than removing each one manually. Thanks.

It's easiest to plug it into the computer if you have a lot, and click on the Music tab of the iPhone. Then, either Control-A (Windows) or Command-A (Mac) to select all of the songs then press delete on your keyboard. If you have a few, it is easiest to swipe over the individual songs and press delete.

How do I pernamantly remove an app from my iPhone 4 ?

Depends on the app. Built in apps - Safari, Music, itunes, etc. - can't be removed. Apps you have downloaded can be deleted by tapping and holding on any app icon, then taping the X to delete.

  • How can i delete app data on iPhone without uninstalling the app?

How can i delete app data on iPhone 4 without removing the application.     Facebook application size -57mb. And its app data is 70mb

    This is ridiculous!
Imagine this scenario, can't be that unlikely:
I'm going away on holiday, or away on work for a while, and I'm not taking the computer to which I sync my phone. Before I leave I fill my iPhone up with music to take with me. While I'm travelling I want to install a new app, but I don't have space. I look to delete content from the phone - I can delete podcasts but not music. Unfortunately I don't have enough podcasts to free up space that way. So I don't purchase the app I wanted.
    This is bad for:
    1. The user (me)
    2. The app developer - lost download.
    3. Apple - they lose their cut of the app download, and royally p#@* off a user.
Can someone explain to me why this limitation is good for anyone?!

I cannot delete your posts. As I explained, only the Hosts can.
And if you can find it in your heart to actually pass on the feedback that the pre installed apps not being able to easily be gotten rid of is a problem, then that would be great.
Use the feedback link I gave in my first post.
Apparently one of your hosts deleted his own post where he called me an idiot for necroing this thread, where it's still an issue. Obviously I'm not so naive as to think it'd be changed on one person's say-so, but the fact that he deleted his own post is problematic and goes to trust and accountability.
