How to remove an old icloud account on a 5S

I need to use my old iphone 5S, but my BF at the time was using it and has given back to me. It's locked with his icloud account and I can't set it up without entering his password to delete the account. Is there another way????

No.
You need his AppleID & Password or have him remove it from his iCloud ccount.

If you are trying to activate an iPad or iPhone and it is asking for a previous owners Apple ID and password, you have encountered the Activation Lock. This is a security feature that prevents thieves from setting up and using a stolen or lost iPad or iPhone. You have no alternative. You must use the previous owner's password to get permission to use the device. If you cannot get the password your father put on the iPad you will never be able to activate the device and no one can help you do it.

  • How to remove the old icloud from my ipad??? My old office email doesn t work anymore

HOw to remove my old icloud from my ipad???  my old email is deleted

The existence or non existence of the email address associated with an Apple ID is not relevant to the functionality of the iCloud account.
You can go to http://appleid.apple.com And Update the associated email address to a new functional one.
Make sure you sign out of iCloud on your iPad in, Settings->iCloud->Sign Out, before updating. Then Sign bakc in after you have updated the email address.
Thus you keep all your itunes purchases and content in iCloud associated with that ID.

  • How can I remove my old iCloud account from my iPhone 4?

I recently changed my icloud account email on my mac, but when I try to delete it on my iphone 4, I need to enter a password. But, the icloud account email is still set to my old one, so i can't delete it because there's no longer any matching email and password because I changed it on my mac!! It's driving me crazy! PLEASE HELP

Go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • How can i change old icloud account on my 4s ios 8.1.1?

i recently "upgraded" my old iphone 4 and bought a secondhand 4s, i forgot to ask the owner to reset the phone but it was pretty blank and now I can't change his icloud account to mine.... Any ideas on how to do that? I have some files on my icloud that I Rather not lose. Please help me with a way to do this. By-the-way the owner's icloud was made with an old email address made just for this iphone and used it only on activation....(and he is kind of a jerk)

    Hi Mihai.rxn,
Based on your description, it sounds like the phone in question may still be Activation Locked to the previous owner's Apple ID. If that is the case, you may find the following article helpful:

  • How to delete an old Icloud account without the password??

I have three devices, iphone 5, 4 and IPAD.  I recently changed my appleID,  and all three devices have the same apple ID (I logged into apple using an apple ID and revised the apple ID and updated my password).  The problem is that the icloud account will not display my new appleID, only the old appleID, the appleID displayed  can’t be selected or edited.  1) The devices will not let me delete the account(s) without entering  a  password, but my apple ID password is associated with new appleID, not the old one. Question: How can an old login be removed, deleted or revised from Icloud when it no longer exist??

If the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Repeat this on your other devices.  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • How to remove iDevice from iCloud account? Please!

For some reason I have a phantom device stuck in my iCloud account. I can see evidence of this from:
    1) OSX's map app. When I send directions from the Map App, I see 3 devices (iPad mini, iPad and then iPhone). This is probably a result of renaming my iPad to iPad mini.
    2) When I go on my iPhone and setup SMS forwarding, I see the same 3 devices again.
If I go to icloud.com and look at find my devices, I only see 2 devices.
So how do I remove the old ipad??

    Any help?

  • How do I access old icloud accounts

I have 3 icloud accounts on my phone. One for my ipad, one for the phone I have now, and one for the last phone I had. I want to get the pictures off the old phone I had but I cannot open the icloud account. I can see it and how much is on it but I cannot click on it or open it.

The only way to do that is to restore the old backup to your current phone.  If you want to be able to do this without losing your current data, back up your phone to your computer using iTunes, then restore the old backup to recover the photos, import the recovered photos to your computer (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083), then restore your phone to the iTunes backup to restore your current data to your phone.

  • How to delete an old iCloud account after changing Apple ID

have changed my Apple id which half worked.   But iCloud on the iPad still linked to old ID  - and can't sign out without giving a password that no longer exists.

    Hello Dun2015,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you’re running into an issue signing out of an iCloud account on your iPad Air because the password that you’re entering isn’t accepted. Try resetting the password for that Apple ID as shown in this article:
