How to remove an uninstalled app from launch pad

I just got mac os x yosemite and I uninstall a steam app but the icon from the game is still in launch pad I did uninstall steam trying to get rid of it. Please help!!!

Open the Applications folder - click the Applications folder icon in the Dock, then select the Open in Finder arrowbutton.
Examine the contents of that folder.
Pages normally resides in the folder named iWorks, but in LaunchPad it is not displayed that way.
If Pages has been duplicated, or an alias made for it, outside of the iWork folder, it will appear as a second instance of Pages in LaunchPad.
Remove the duplicate, meaning the one outside of the iWork folder.
Note -
• if the one outside the iWork folder is not an alias, compare the version numbers for it and the one in the iWork folder. Keep the one with the most recent version, be sure it is placed in the iWork folder.
• if the one in the iWork folder is an alias, replace it with the real app, the one outside that folder.

Please can anyone advise me how to remove the YouTube app from my sons iPod touch

It can't be removed, but you can restrict it. Restricting it will remove the icon from the screen, as well as require a passcode that you set in order to activate it.
Settings > General > Restrictions > Enable Restrictions. Then turn YouTube OFF under the "Allow" section.

  • Deleting app from launch pad on macbook pro

I have tried to delete the Virtual Friend Finder from the launch pad!! I have tried dragging it to the trash and then clicking and holding icon till it shook and got the x in the corner to delete and nothing!! It always ask do I want to delete I say yes and yet it still stays on launch pad I want to get rid of it though anymore ideas!!!

    Launch pad?
Find the actual original file that the alias points to.
If you click and hold on the icon there is a pop up (drop down) list of Options.
If you have trouble with uninstalling whatever the app is, either look to see if the installer will, or just drag to trash.
Most applications are in /Applications folder.
you are not in notebook territory though.
And you do want to brush up on how to use Mac OS probably.
Uninstalling apps from iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch are of course different.

  • How do I delete uninstalled Apps from the iPhone app list that is shown inside iTunes on my PC after sychronizaton?

To clarify and to not receive the answers of those who doesn't read more than 2 lines of a post: I am not asking how can I delete backups to free space in iCloud nor how to hide the purchase history!!! those things I already know...
to be clearer please let me explain what I mean by "list inside the iTunes of my PC". To access the list to which I am reffering you must take this steps:
    1) Connect the iPhone to the PC. This should open iTunes if not already opened and activate the synchronization between iPhone and PC.
    2) After syncronization and eventual backup in the iTunes window on the top right side it appears the tab "iPhone".
    3) Click said tab "iPhone" to see its content. In the top bar you can see 9 tabs: "Summary", "Info", "Apps", "Music", "Movies", "TV Shows", "Books", "Photos" and "On This iPhone".
    4) Click the 3rd tab, the one named "Apps", in this window on the left side you have the full list of the apps and on the right side you can see how these apps are arranged inside the device (inside home screens and folders).
I am referring to this particular list, the one on the left side of this page. See, I ricently run out of space in my iCloud so I decided tidy things up. I deleted all of the old backups both form iCloud and from PC and I hid all of the Apps that I no longer use from my purchase history.
now, the point is, every time I go to this particular list I can still find all of the apps, even those uninstalled from the device and removed from the purchase history...
In this list the apps that are still installed on my divece have got the "remove" button at its side and those which are not have got the "install" button... my point is that I went to great lengths to clean everything and still I can't seem to find a way to remove unwanted apps from this particular list...
I do suspect that it is because I have to restore some registry inside the iPhone itself... The point is that I don't want these apps to appear on this list anymore but I don't know how to clear it... Any help? Have I been clear?
    thanks

That list includes all the apps that you installed to your device directly from iTunes on the computer, or which were purchased on the iOS device and subsequently transferred to iTunes on the computer.
If you right click on any item in that list and choose "Show in Windows Explorer" it will open your iTunes application installer directory on your computer, which should be:
    C:\Users\User\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Mobile Applications
In there are all your saved application installers (*.ipa files).  You need to delete those actual installer bundles and then make sure to NOT allow the "transfer purchased content" when you sync or backup in iTunes (as that will just put them back on your hard drive).
One caveat to removing those, is that if you ever wish to keep a specific release of a particular app, and the developer replaces the iTunes/App store version with something else, your sole source for your older version will be your own stored copy of it.  So for example, when PDF expert released their iOS 7 update, and charged everyone full price for it, if you wished to keep using the previous version on your own devices, then you needed to keep a copy of the installer on your own computer as that older version is no longer available in the store front.

  • How to remove an installed app from iMac?

I bought my iMac from an individual and I am getting an 'update available' box for Pages. When I click on it to download it I get a message to sign in w/previous owners info. Also, that I can buy a serial number for me. I haven't been able to do that. How can I remove Pages from my computer so I can buy it for myself?
    Thank you for your help.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
As it looks like Pages was installed from the App Store, you have two possibilities to uninstall the application:
    1. Open Launchpad, hold Option key and press X button above Pages icon to uninstall the application.
    2. Open Finder, select Applications on the sidebar and remove Pages.
After doing this, open App Store and purchase Pages, so it will be registered to your Apple ID and you will be able to update that app

Please someone tell me how to remove credit card details from iPad 4, so I download free apps from App Store??

    None for payment
After establishing the Credit Card account, you can remove the credit card information by editing your payment info, choosing "None".
Note: You won't find "None" if you have not purchase anything with the Credit Card.

How to remove my credit card from the App Store

I used a pre-loaded credit card so when it ran out i had problems, primarily because it wont let me download or update anything until the "billing problem with the last transaction" was resolved. I dont really care if the purchase goes through but i want to be able to update stuff again and it wont give me the option to select 'none' under payment type. do i have to put another card on there just so i can "resolve the billing problem" and then i have  to take it off again or is there a way around this or is it a never ending cycle?

I want to delete it from the list by using netca. But this listener would not be able to show from netca. The netca can only show the other listener that is currently used and also shown in the crs_stat. How to remove the offline listener from crs_stat list?
    Thanks for advice!

I run the netca from both $ORACLE_HOME and $ASM_HOME earlier. But now, none of the home can detect the listener to be deleted. However, if I try to add a listener with that name, the netca replied with " the listener already exist...".
We have a symbolic link from $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin to $ASM_HOME/network/admin ($TNS_ADMIN) for the files tnsnames.ora and listener.ora.

  • Remove uninstalled apps from Desktop App?

I have uninstalled several older apps, like the CS6 and original CC apps, using the standard Windows "uninstall" app from the control panel.
I would like to remove them from the desktop app so that they no longer show up asking to be updated. Eventually, they should even stop showing up at the bottom asking to be installed. A filter could deal with that, I would think.
Have I missed a way to do that? I just can't find it and searching has failed me. I must not have the right search terms to get the answer.
Basically, the only older app I want to see is Premiere Pro CS6 and only because I still help people with problems they are having. As for the rest of the apps, I only need the latest and greatest versions showing up.
    Thanks,
    Steven
