How to remove annoying POPUPS ON STARTUP C:\Windows\System32\igfxtray.exe

After I on intel.com tried to upgrade my graphic driver Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family my screen at startup shows a popup-box with the text:
C:\Windows\System32\igfxtray.exe
I am asked to "Run" or "Cancel" but no matter what I choose the exact same popup is shown on startup again and I have to Click 3 times on Cancel to get the box disappear - It doesnt seem to influence on my use of the laptop but its a little annoying that its shows up.
On windows.com help forum I have followed some suggestions without help except the suggestion on open Regedit because many have told med not to mess around in the Regedit
I have with no succes asked this question on a forum within intel.com
Has anyone a suggestion what to do?

The igfxtray.exe seems to belongs to Intel driver and this file is a part of quick access software to the control panel via a System Tray icon for graphics based upon the Intel.
Usually you should see a small Intel display icon in the task bar in the right lower corner.
The igfxtray.exe controls this.
So you can also disable this in msconfig.
In search type msconfig. Then choose StarUp tab and choose remove the mark from the entry containing the igfxtray.exe
Now save the changes and reboot the unit
That should disable this popup.

How to avoid annoying popups under Linux

I'm trying to run our application from Linux with the latest Firefox, but I'm receiving dozens of popups I cannot suppress (see attachment). How to disable these popups? Thx

Unfortunately, this are from JRE due to applets present in your screen and cannot be suppressed due to security issue.
Anyways, you can try some settings from Control Panel>>JAVA to check if you can reduce the no. of popups.

Thanks for that! I run a blazing fast laptop (ASUS ZenBook UX51) yet the Charm Bar takes forever to load and sometimes I need several attempts. So I've blocked the entire UI by using Start 8 and never go to the Win8 UI except for Mail. This
issue with GMail hanging out there without connecting, coupled with the MS Live ID policy of never allowing you to ever reuse a password pretty much kept me away from Windows for over a month. I use Linux for all of my telephony and speech recognition consulting

IMHO, MSoft should add in another UI control within the mail app to do this. Perhaps if only a visible link. Classically there have been at least three ways to accomplish an action in Windows. By limiting it to just one that is optimized for the less
than optimized UI touch, MSoft is making it difficult for end user.

How do I remove annoying popups on my MacBook Air?

Whenever I open Firefox and begin opening windows and just in general, go on the internet, annoying/suspicious adware popups appear. Usually it is the same one that comes in a blinking box and says you got a prize, open! (something annoying like that). My Mac has Adblock Lite on, and in my computers system preferences I put on the Firewall. Why do I seem to get all these annoying ads and what do I do to remove them? This morning I noticed that my Firefox browser was constantly being interrupted by in-window popups for a site called cdn.blinkx.com/uvp-0.2.1/applications/blank.php. It opens these pages about every 20 seconds, but since updating Firefox it appears to have slowed down. Still, I would like to find the adware responsible and remove it for security reasons. The site itself doesn't appear to do anything - just a blank black page - but it is very annoying and can make the browser almost unusable. I have strong reason to believe this is adware or malware. I have not really done any unusual downloads recently, and my antivirus software ClamXav did not spot it. If anyone could help solve this problem I would be very grateful.

You installed the "DownLite" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.

Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Somewhere during a surfing experience, t encountered the popup ad for 'MacKeeper'. Along with that problem i found that my homepage upon opening Safari came up to 'QuickSearch' from months using 'Google'. How to remove annoying "Accessory Connected" screen - NO JAILBRAK!

I have accidentally discovered a way to disable the annoying "Accessory Connected" screen that surfaces when connected to some "bad" car radios. To make the change you need access to a "good" music accessory that does not trigger the "Accessory Connected" screen - eg a Bose boombox or a car with a radio that works properly.
1. Connect phone to the "good" accessory and start some music playing
2. Lock the phone with the top button while still connected to the "good" accessory
3. Disconnect the phone from the good accessory (don't stop the music, or anything - just unplug it)
4. Now go to the "bad" accessory and plug it in.
5. Unlock the phone - et voila - no more "Accessory Connected" screen!
As I say, I have not tested this rigorously and I am not 100% sure that I have correctly described what I accidentally did to get it to work. All I can say is that I can now plug my phone into any car stereo without getting that annoying screen!

Attempted to install QuickTime in response to its solicitation,but its download program stated it could not be installed on ME. However, its Icon was placed in my Systray and every time I boot up now the system seems to try to read the hard drive for it causing the drive to chatter.
