How to remove App from iPhone, but not iPad

I have an App that I would like to keep in my iTunes library, but only Sync to my iPad -- not my iPhone.  Right now, the App has been 'deselected' from my iPhone, but the associated file size did not decrease.  My iPhone still has 1GB more than I would like.  How can I remove the App and it's file from my iPhone, but preserve it on my iPad?  Thanks!

Deselect it and sync.
Is it still on your iphone?
Apps are generally not that large.  I doubt you would notice much difference in memory used.
Look on the iphone to see if the app is there.

  • Removing albums from iPhone but not iTunes

I have the 16gb iPhone and would need to free up space on the device. I need to delete albums from the iPhone but not the iTunes library.
    Any suggestions?

You have been manually managing music and videos from the start, or your switched to this from syncing?
When switching from syncing to manually manage, all iTunes content on your iPhone should be erased first.
Since you are manually managing music and videos selected, you manually drag music and videos from your iTunes library to your iPhone in the iTunes source list to add music and videos to your iPhone. To remove music and videos from your iPhone, you need to delete the music and videos from your iPhone.
Open your iPhone under devices in the iTunes source list - select the right facing arrow pointing it down, which will reveal Music, Movies, TV Shows, etc. Select Music to reveal all music that is available on your iPhone. Select the music that you want to remove from your iPhone followed by delete.
In regards to syncing - when syncing selected playlists, you remove songs from the playlist or playlists in iTunes that is selected under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences to be transferred to your iPhone followed by a sync to remove the songs from your iPhone. If you want to keep the music in your iTunes playlists in iTunes but remove select songs from your iPhone only, select sync only checked songs and videos under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences. Uncheck the songs that you want removed from your iPhone in the playlists in iTunes followed by a sync. To remove an entire playlist from your iPhone, deselect the playlist under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences followed by a sync.

  • Remove songs from iPhone but not from playlist in 7.1

I use iTunes Match and I recently updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 7.1.  Before 7.1, when in the music app and I wanted to delete a song from my phone i was able to swipe from right to left and delete the song from my phone but it would still remain in the playlist, only it would now show a cloud icon.  Now in 7.1 when i swipe right to left and hit delete, it deletes the song from the playlist (song disappears) I am in and not from the phone, with no way to tehn add it to a playlist.  Is there any way to go back to way it previously worked?  How do I only delete a song from my phone withput removing it from a specific playlist?

My settings are to show that all music is on and I disagree.  I used to be able to delete songs from the phone without removing them from a playlist.  Maybe it was before iOS 7 but I def could do it.  I would swipre and hit delete and the song would remain but now show a cloud icon.

  • How to delete photos from iPhone but not iPhoto?

iPhone 5S on iOS 8.1.2 with over 6,000 pictures, brand new Macbook Pro on 10.10.1 Yosemite. All my photos are synched to iPhoto, and I want to delete the photos from my iPhone to clear up storage. My main concern is not losing the photos in iPhoto the next time I plug my phone in. Half the things I researched say it'll delete them, other half says they won't. I just want to have a clear iPhone and be able to view my pictures on my Macbook. How do I go about this without wiping my Mac clean?

As I know, it won't delete the photos in iPhoto, but you can backup these photos on Mac to avoid any accident.
you can transfer Photos from iPhone to Mac with Image Capture
Connect your iPhone to Mac with USB cable > Run Image Capture on your Mac > Select your iPhone from the device list if it is not selected > Set the output folder for your iPhone photos > Click Import or Import all to transfer photos from iPhone to Mac.
BTW, you can also try to delete only one photos on iPhone first and see if it will  disappeare on iPhoto to know what to to next.

How do I upload my apps from my iphone 4 to my ipad mini

Follow the instructions here or here; using the first set of instructions then requires syncing the second device with the iTunes library containing the content.

For example I have downloaded Skype from apps store and later since I did't like it I have unchecked it on my itunes and it doesn't show in my iphone. however in itunes / devices/iphone under apps it still shows. Is there  a way to remove it from there.

  • Delete Apps from MacBook but not from iPhone

How can I delete Apps from iTunes but not from iPhone 3GS when I Sync them? The moment I delete the Apps from iTunes and then sync iPhone, iPhone deletes them as well.
    Please assist.

If you intend to ever sync your phone with your Macbook then you can't delete the app from your Macbook, otherwise the apps will also delete from your iPhone (as you've discovered).

  • Full page prints from iPhone but not from iPad using photo app with AirPrint ?

Full page prints from iPhone but not from iPad using photo app with AirPrint ? iPad only prints 4x6 on full size paper. It's an HP 8600.

I also have this problem printing photos from an iPad to an Epson WF-2540 printer. It prints only 4x6 and without border (so print starts at extreme top left corner of paper). Borderless printing is not selected on printer. Printing a square photo just crops to 4x6 size.

  • Removing Apps From iPhone App Store

    Hello,
I have been searching all over but I can't find a post on how to remove apps from the iPhone App Store purchased list. I have been able to do it in the past by swiping the app in the purchase list and selecting hide but it appears this function is disabled... Does anyone have any clue on how to do this now. Thank you

  • Removing Apps from iPhone using iTunes Apps Sync Apps doesn't work

Im trying to manage the space on my iPhone 4 16GB, so when I go on hiloday I have enough space for photos and vacation movies.
When plugged in, iTunes shows my apps in the Apps tab. (it actually shows an extra page of apps which are not installed on my phone)
In iTunes I used to hover over an app, click the x to remove, confirm the prompt to delete and finally, sync. The app was gone from my phone.
    Now this doesnt work.
The other way was to uncheck the app from my list of apps (in iTunes Apps tab), and then sync.
    This doesnt work either.
I'm sure I used to use this method previously.
This is especially handy because itunes lists the applications by size, so I can easily see the ones that will free up the most space.
Is there any way to remove apps from the iPhone WITHOUT DOING IT ON THE PHONE?
Note: I have 'Sync Apps' ticked & 'automatically sync new apps' unticked.
    Im running:
    Macbook Air 2012
    OS X 10.8.1 64 Bit
    Itunes 10.7(21) 64 Bit
    iPhone 4 iOS 6.0 (10A403)

Are the apps in your iTunes library using the same AppleID as the one signed into on your phone?

Heh, that can become a nuisance. Don't know how many you've accrued in your years of iGadget enjoyment, but I've managed to accumulate nearly 600, all free   So yeah, the list can get lengthy
I'm afraid to count . I don't spend a lot time worry about it, but have on occassion gone in and hidden a few items. A handful of apps I know I never want to see again, plus some free music tracks that didn't pan out and some TV episodes that no longer have any value to me.
