How to remove audio clip I added to iMovie 10?

I created a short video, added audio clip from itunes.  But I cannot upload it to Facebook due to copyright rules.  How can I remove the audio clip?  I separated the audio from the video, but it's only the original audio, not the clip I added.  I looked through several posts but could not find this exact topic.
I see some posts that talk about inspector, but imovie 10 doesn't seem to have it.
When I click on the video segments i don't see anything about the audio clip that I added.
Newbie here, please be patient...
Thanks.

You just need to go back to the project in iMovie 10, delete the iTunes audio clip and share again.
(I'm not quite clear what you did when you said you 'separarted the audio from the video'.)

How to change the clip's duration under imovie 10.0.3?

This is a new feature introduced in 10.0.3 which works fine for me.  The old way was to select Modify - Fast Forward.  You can only select certain speed ratios but a slider should appear near the top of the clip which allows finer speed adjustment.  have you tried this?

  • How to remove audio?

i have some clips/thumbnails that i don't want to have the ambient sound in it. how do i remove audio from selected sections?

i mean how do i use just the audio and not the video?
If you mean "extract" the audio and add it to the project, simply select the audio segment needed in the "Events" window, press "Command-Shift" and drag the clip segment to the project window. (A "plus" should indicate the dragged content can be added to the project.) Drag to start point -- e.g., the start of another video clip and release it. A green audio track will appear under the video which you can now slide/adjust length for use.

  • How do I lock Audio clip at playhead in iMovie

    Hi,
I have been using iMovie HD for years.  Great program.  Finally had to move on to iMovie 10.  What a total disaster that is.  I have a myriad of issues with it, as does everyone else, but right now I am trying to figure out how to lock an audio clip at the playhead, as one essentially needs to be able to do for even pretty simple home movie edits.  Am I being stupid or has this functionality been entirely removed by some genius Apple programmer?  Why do I get the feeling that what used to be a brilliant and intuitive piece of software has been  completely eviscerated to the point of uselessness?
    Any ideas?  Thanks
    Richard

No, it's not been removed. You just need to drag your audio clip to the right place.
In your case, you want to drag it directly to the timeline and not to the background music well below the timeline.

  • How to paste audio clips more precisely?????

Im just getting to know my brand new Logic Studio. Im working on a track just to try to get to know my new Logic.
So in trying to paste Audio clips on a certain point, it wont allow me to get it bang on where desired point. Its always
a little off.  For example Im trying to copy and paste the first verse to build the 2nd verse. I dragged the bar to the deseired
point which is 20 1 1 1. When I paste in my region or audio clip its like 21 4 4 239.  After this I notice I try enlarge the screen
to make it more precise and as I drag it the Audio clip goes past it or before it a little out of time.
Maybe its something to do with the audio clips themselves Im not sure but this never happened to me in Logic Express...
    Thanks guys

You know, the funny thing might be to pull them into a single track in FCP and Dona remove gaps.
    You could try:
Using the browser in STP to list all the files in order. I'm on the road so I can't test this, but what happens if you select them and drag and drop to a single track in multitrack mode?
And how about: in the browser select the next clip, right click and do spot to playhead? If you've jumped to the end of the file in the track it will butt next next one against it.
So a could things to fool with.

  • How to get audio clips to play at site but not actually download?

Would like person to be able to listen only to audio clips but not to be able to download clip to add to their iTunes library. In other words, am selling an audio product, and while I'd like people to be able to hear samples at my site (built with iweb), I don't want them to retain clip. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this would be much appreciated!

Stopping people from downloading anything that's published to the internet is virtually impossible.
I would recommend that you first edit your files so that you only have about a one minute clip online....

Dragging you files onto the iWeb page is not the best way to present them as a large percentage of PC users won't be able to play them. The Wordpress standalone flash player is still about the best way to play audio and you have to know how to get into the source code to be able to download the files....

    Or use a flash jukebox....

For the increasing number of people using iPhone/iPad you can use this dual player....

or have an alternative page using HTML5 players.....

  • Remove audio clipping fom old video

Is there away to remove or at least a way to tone it down in the video clip?

    Hi
    Please specify.
    • Audio Clipping - due to a too high gain (too high volume) so that it clipps
(as far as I know - audio is destroyed and can't be mended)
    • You just want to decrease the audio in a clip ?
(turn on the tool (in TimeLine window down left there is a small speaker - next to the right is the tool)
that gives a black line in the audio clips and drag this band down - in the specific clip.

  • How to remove audio noise in section of video clip

I have a section of video which contains some time on
a ski boat and then footage of a skier.  The section of ski footage is noisy with boat engine noise.
How can I reduce just that section of noise.  I don't wish to eliminate it just lower the volume.

Unfortunately, you have posted to the Tips & Tricks sub-forum, which is basically a repository for articles on how to do things. Maybe our over-worked MOD, Steve Grisetti can move this question out to the main PrE forum, so that many more users will see it, and can give you suggestions.
Now, let's look at your Audio footage, and what you want to do.
The section of ski footage is noisy with boat engine noise. How can I reduce just that section of noise.  I don't wish to eliminate it just lower the volume.
Success depends on exactly what you have in the way of audio signals, and exactly what you want to do with it.
If there are other signals in the Clip, that you wish to keep, and only wish to lower the Levels of the noise floor (the boat's engine), you might have success, but that depends on two things: the frequencies of the sound that you wish to retain at original Levels, and the frequencies of the boat's engine. I believe that PrE has some limited EQ (Equalizer) Effects. I normally use an audio-editing program, with a full compliment of EQ's.
I'd start with a Graphic EQ Effect, and then spend a lot of time adjusting the sliders for each frequency band and doing careful listening. It is likely that you can attenuate (lower) the Levels for some of the frequency bands, that ONLY contain the signal from the engine. You will loose those same frequencies in the ambient sounds, but there is no way to separate those out, and address them individually. Depending on the number of frequency bands that your EQ offers, this might be able to isolate many of the changes to the offending frequencies. Do not know how many frequency bands the Graphic EQ in PrE will offer, as I have never explored any.
In Audition, one can also sample a part of the file, with just engine noise, and then work to eliminate most of that from the whole Clip. Note, one still has a balancing act, of lowering the Levels across the frequency bands. I would go lightly here, and then work with the Graphic EQ to clean things up a bit more. Last, I'd look at both the High-pass and Low-pass filters, plus a Notch Filter.
Since I noticed that you had also posted to the article on noise reduction, I know that you have read it. However, when your post gets moved out to the main forum, and others drop by, I will link to that ARTICLE here.
Now, and so that others can perhaps give you specific ideas, can you tell us what part of the audio spectrum you wish to keep at the original Levels? Also, if you have a short piece of the Audio, can you attach it as a PCM/WAV? Hint: use the little Attach Files (paperclip) at the lower-left of the forum editing screen. Let us know exactly what you'd like to try to keep. We'd be happy to process that small section and see if we can make improvements to it, and then post the steps that we took to arrive at our edited piece.
    Good luck,

  • How to remove audio in iMovie

I've just started using this new version of iMovie. I did pretty well with the older version, but nothing I learned there seems to work with this one. I can't figure out how to manipulate the original audio. I want to only having it playing in parts and have music overlayed. If I can't do that, I would like to completely remove the recorded audio and just have music. Is there a simple way to do this?

Two quick Videos you should watch.
    1) This one from iMovie 08 covers the basics.
    2) this one shows the new features in iMovie 11. Choose the one that says All New Audio Editing.
There are two ways to have the audio muted in parts. 1) Select the frames you want to mute (by dragging) so that the yellow border is around them. Then right-click/Split Clip. Then set the Volume slider to zero., using the Audio Tab of the Clip Inspector.
    2) Use the rubber banding as shown in Video #2.

  • How to remove audio keyframes after mix

    Hi,
Early during editing I tried to make an audio mix with the music fader ('write' mode) and now it keeps all the old keyframes whatever I do whilst trying to make a new final mix. How do I get rid of my old mix? I tried to remove the whole music track but Premiere has a good memory ... too good! :-)
Newly imported audio remembers the very first mix.
    Help! (yes, I'm a newby)
    Pieter

    Pieter,
Normally, the Track Keyframes will be overwritten, when you do another session with the Audio Mixer. Not sure why your are not being overwritten, if your Send is set to Write, or Touch. Is that Audio Track Targeted in the Timeline?
In the Timeline, go to the Track Header and toggle to View Track Keyframes. Then in that Track, lasso ALL Keyframes (do not know if Ctrl+A - Select All will function, but try that too), and just hit the Delete key. That should clear all Track Keyframes. Note: I am sure that you realize that these particular Keyframes are attached to the Track and not to the Clips. If this will not work, then just Copy/Move the Clips to another empty Track, and do another Audio Mixer session.
    Good luck,

  • How to delete audio clip/soundtrack from video

Hi - I have been creating my first ever video (joining together footage from GoPro files from a family skiing day, so pretty amateur stuff).
After doing some basic stuff like deleting lots of even more dull stuff than the remainder will be, I'm left with a heap of separate files where I've put transitions into the gaps.
I then added an Adobe soundtrack/audio to the whole thing.
Possibly mistakenly I then did a few more bits and pieces to the video, like speeding a few bits up and so on.  The act of speeding some sections up using Premiere Elements then created 'gaps' in the timeline which I've worked out form some googling I think are there simply because there's underlying audio.
The difficulty I'm having now is - how do I just simply delete the underlying audio in it's entirety - there must be a simle way of dleting it all, but I can't find it.
Then I can just change the video as I see fit, delete and close gaps, and then reapply audio once I'm finished.
    Anyone know ?
PS. I have done some painful resectioning of the underlying audio to try and close the gaps but that hasn't worked very well as in the timeline, the audio isn't directly lined up with the video above it so very easy to delete video when trying to delete sections of audio, therefore simpler to just delete all audio I think.
    Cheers.

Along with Steve's excellent books, here are some additional resources for learning PrE: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/800455?tstart=0
You will see Steve's name mentioned in several of those, like is Basic Training Series and Learning Series. There are also some AdobeTV tutorials, that I find very useful.
    Good luck, and happy editing,

  • How to remove audio books bought on iPhone

I bought an audio book on iTunes on my iPhone. I already synced the book into my computer. But how do I get it off my phone but stay on my computer? I've tried everything but since I bought it on my phone does that mean I can't remove it? Help please

    Welcome to the discussions,
did you try to deselect the Audiobook in the Book pane/Audiobooks section with your phone connected? This should take off the book after the next sync.

  • How to remove audio from iMovie

I recorded a video on my Sony camera and now after watching the clip there was something I said on that clip that I do not want the other person to know about it once I burn the clip to a DVD disc.   Is there anyway to do this and how?   If there is may you please provide step by step instructions on how to do it.
    Thank you.

  • Removing movie clips with added children

If I have a movie clip added as a child to another movie clip
on the stage, and I remove it's parent, and null all references to
the parent, will both the parent and child movie clip be deleted by
the garbage collector? If so, will it be done on it's regular pass
    or by mark and sweep?

OK, so if I add a movie clip like this:
    function addMovie()
var toAdd:MovieClip = new Example(); // example extends
    movieclip
    this.addChild(toAdd);
I'm assuming that toAdd will be nulled when the function is
complete, because it's a local variable. Then if I put code inside
the movie clip at a certain frame or in a function in the class
Example to get rid of it:
    this.parent.removeChild(this);
I'm assuming that's all i need to do to get rid of it. I
can't null the instance of the class Example using this = null from
inside it, and the only reference to it is the child reference from
    the parent.
Am I right or is there more I need to do to make the instance
    of example eligible for GC?
