How to Remove "carrier settings updates"

Hello
do you know how to remove carrier settings updates downloaded from Itunes?
Thanks

The bottom of this document tells you where they are on your computer. I suppose you could delete them. There's nothing about deleting them from the phone.

  • 4G LTE iPhone 5: Carrier Settings Update never came

    Hello,
Just to say, before I start: This question is related to Switzerland's Swisscom's 4G LTE network and iPhone 5.
I have updated to iOS 6.1 (for Swisscom 4G LTE compatibility, it's now compatible), but didn't get the carrier settings update, and when I reset the iPhone (including erase all content), I got the Carrier Setting Update and it enabled 4G LTE, but I have progressed in lots of apps and games (mainly apps), and it will be very difficult to do a full restore and recover all my progress etcetera. How can I get the Carrier Settings Update? I went to Swisscom, and they said to erase the iPhone, but again this would be a big inconvenience and I am trying to avoid it.
Sorry about any problems: I'm not very tech savvy with iOS devices, and this is my first post here so I may have put in the wrong section.
    Thanks a lot in advance

Well, I've connected my phone to iTunes, and still nothing has come. My friend's iPhone 5 did have enable LTE, when he updated and I believe he got it over the air, and didn't connect it to iTunes. iTunes is still syncing...
Thank you very much for helping
It's suddenly appeared. My three friend's iPhone 5's carrier settings update came straight away after updating this morning (we updated together), and mine has come about 7 and a half hours later... but still, it's come. I don't think this was related to iTunes (by the looks of it).
Thanks a lot for helping me, and for the quick replies.

Have you tried a reset by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button and the home button for 20 seconds (maybe longer) until the Apple logo appears, ignore the red slider.  Then turn back on. You won't lose any data doing the reset.

  • I inherited my husband's iphone 4s. After erasing all of the previous settings, updating to ios 8 I went on icloud to set it up.  During the set up, the screen froze on "carrier settings update". I can reboot, but the message comes right back.

This is a phone re-set from a previous user.  Reset from icloud. Froze during set up, on "carrier settings update" and has the phone number pad with it. I reboot but it comes back and I can't get past it.

    Hey Jackie,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities,
Take a look at the article linked below, it provides troubleshooting suggestions that’ll solve issues like the one that you've described, where your iPhone 4s has a blank black screen.
Get help with the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
If you see a solid color screen (black, white or blue)
Plug in your device to a power source. If you see the low-battery screen when you plug in, let your device charge for at least 10 minutes (20 minutes for iPad) before using it.
Reset your device while it's plugged in.
If resetting doesn’t fix the issue, restore your device.
If you still see the issue after you restore, contact Apple Support.
    Cheers,
    -Jason

  • Carrier Settings update. New settings are available would you like to update now? Is this safe to do?

SInce updating to iOS 8.3 I keep getting a prompt: Carrier Settings Update. Would you like to update them now? What does it mean and is it safe?

    Yes.
You carrier is updating the information on your iPhone.  You should always do these updates.

  • Carrier settings updates updating... & updating... &...

My iPad's carrier settings updates http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1970 are updated again and again, every time iTunes starts up or my iPad gets in its reach.
Am I the only one? And does anyone know what I might do about it?
    Thanks a lot!

Did you manage to fix the problem?  I just posted the same exact question...

  • HT201270 My ipad is displaying the carrier settings update box but does not respond to either the "update now" button or the "not now" button and has totally frozen. The ipad cannot switch off as I need to clear this box before I can "slide to shut down".

Can anyone help me with carrier settings??? My ipad is displaying the carrier settings update box but will not respond when I press "update" or "not now". I have tried to switch the ipad off, but cannot "slide to shut down" as I need to clear the carrier settings box first!! HELP PLEASE!!!!

Have you tried a reboot? Hold down the power and home buttons simultaneously. Ignore the Slide to Power Off prompt if it pops up. The display should go dark, and the Apple logo should appear as it begins a reboot. This is a soft reboot - it does not erase data.

  • Carrier settings update

Hello . i'm alex and i have an iphone 4 iOS 4.0.1 and a have a problem. My network name is COSMOTE and i can't update carrier settings. when i go to settings>general>about there is no promt message and the same in itunes. so i can't use facetime too ... can you help me please?

You will need to confirm if Costmote supports MicroSIM cards on their network. What ever application they are using to manage customer account information may not be compatible with MicroSIM serial numbers. Do not cut an older series SIM card to the size of the MicroSIM. Doing so will void your warranty. Also MicroSIM are different than older SIM cards by providing better encryption and enhanced features such as increased entry fields and better connectivity with cellular towers.

  • IPad and constant carrier settings update requests

Hi, I recently updated to my MacBook Pro to Mac OS X 10.7.4 and my iPad to iOS 5.1.1. Now, every time i plug my iPad into my MacBook Pro and iTunes launches, it tells me I need to update my carrier settings.
    …every time!
    What's going on?

    Same here.
I was working better than ever with the 3G signal.
Since the carrier update, it is sporadic. Especially at home.
I know this because when EDGE kicks in my radio goes crazy with static.
I get 3G half the time while at home.
I know the carrier update says nothing about improving signal. Maybe it is coincience.
    I dont know.
The static on EDGE drives me crazy...

  • Are the "Carrier settings update" as invasive as it sounds?

I keep getting the prompt to update "carrier settings" and even though I cancel, it comes back. I read the page dealing with it on the Apple support, but it seems to say Apple wants to collect information about me, my use and possibly content from my carrier. I'm not ok with that. Am I getting it wrong? If I'm right, can they legally make it mandatory for me to download? Can I turn it off somehow without downloading it?
    Thanks

TY, I started getting it 3 days ago and had never seen it before either. This is all they have to say about it.

  • How to undo "Carrier Support Update"

I have an international unlocked iPhone and currently using T-Mobile service.
After I installed the carrier support update that came out today, I no longer have the option of using my phone as a mobile hotspot. I have deleted the carrier update file at C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes but my phone is still crippled. Is there any way to fix this?
    Thanks in advance!

Restoring via iTunes . After restoring fishnish. open iPhone and setup like a new iphone. Whenever u see the messenger ( update network setting) just Ignore it. In iTunes too when u see a messenger (update network setting) just click cancel or not now. Then, u personal hotspot will show up. . Finally go to setting-> general ->cellular -> cellular data and input like below

  • How to removing a pending update that is preventing a successful boot

    Hi,
For an unknown reason (my guess is an update was automatically applied and automatically restarted), my computer rebooted overnight and in the morning was stuck in a failed boot loop.  When trying to boot I get the message:
    "Preparing to configure windows"
"Do not turn off your computer"
Then after a few seconds the computer reboots and does the same thing.  Safe mode yields the same result.  Using the F8 option to restore last known good configuration doesn't change anything.  I can boot into the recovery console.
I have tried running SFC /SCANNOW in a command prompt in the recovery console and get the message:
"There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete. Restart Windows and run sfc again."
Restarting of course doesn't change anything.  So it seems something happened to an unfinished update and is still pending.  I think if I can remove this pending update I might be able to boot normally, or at least run SFC and hopefully then boot
    normally.
Does anyone know what I should try to remove this pending update that appears to be preventing a successful boot?
    Thanks!

    Hello deuce_mn,
This is the command to run when booted offline at a recovery command prompt
    dism.exe /image:C:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions
This is supposed to revert all pended updates, however if System Restore is not working, then there may be other issues as well

I'm thinking this may help with a similar problem I'm having with SP1 (fatal error applying update during boot).  I noticed that when I'm at the recovery command prompt, the system image is moved to E: vs. C:.  Will DISM work in this case & will
it restore my System Image, pre-SP1 failure, to C:?  Also, does it matter whether I run the recovery command prompt from the current installation or do I need to start from the original install media?  Oh, one more question...  When I installed
Windows 7x64, I used a minimal unattend.xml file to force all User Profiles to another, non-system, disk drive, currently D:.  Both my system drive & user profile/data drive appear unharmed so far.

  • How to remove OTA Settings badge after delete of IOS 8.0.1 software update from storage

Running iOS 8 I had downloaded and not installed IOS 8.0.1 software update.  A "1" Badge appears as expected on my Settings icon.  I then removed the software from storage.  Settings->General->Usage->Manage Storage but the badge was not removed.  Things I have already tried that did not work:
    - Checked for software update
    - Rebooted phone

So with the release 8.0.2 the badge went away once I updated.
I did however download, watching it until it completed.  Then chose "LATER" before the timer ran out.
Then went back to install it.  I am not sure if forcing later is needed, but I wanted to make sure it would force it to update the badge to "1" once I went to install it.  If someone else who has the problem tries it without choosing "LATER" please update the thread for others to let them know if it was needed.
