How to remove cool/Blue color cast in pictures

I had incurrect setting when taking  some pictures, which turned the pictures blue. Is there a way to correct this in Elements 9?

The 'color cast' correction I mentionned above is really the simplest, 'one click' tool in Elements, but there are other ways.
My favourite one is to open the photo (even jpegs) in ACR. Then you have the same interface than with raw file, and the temperature and tint sliders.
The advantage is that once you have corrected one picture (also a one click sampling of neutral white/gray), the settings can be used for the next picture. You can correct a batch of images rapidly.
Edit:
To open a jpeg in ACR, use 'Open As' instead of 'Open' in the editor. On the bottom line for the file format, select the 3rd option 'Camera raw...' not the first 'Photoshop raw'.

    Try that.

  • How to remove tags (not color tags)

How to remove tags (not color tags)
I love the idea of the tags, however there comes a point when some become irrelevant.  How can I remove them.  I highlighting them in the dialogue box and hitting the delete key, that does not work.  ?

I accidentally found that you can remove some tags while in the Sidebar view by just draggng them to the trash.
But after a certain point when you have drug all of tags in the list, you are then left with the "All Tags" button. When you click on that final button, you find that all of the tags you have ever created are still there in the All Tags category. So I guess what I do is just not create any new tags because the list just becomes too long to be useable. I liked the idea of Tags as a management tool, but like so many times before I will just go back to the file name workarounds that I have been using since 1988.  They work because they were developed and tested by an actual user, me.  Just toss a project number into the file name.  Works every time, unlike the undocumented "features" that are apparently not tested.
But, if what I hear is true that Apple does not monitor these discussions, what was the point of writing this.
Would like to think they would look at these "discussions" as a resource, but.......

  • How to correct for dual color casts?

It seems that I have a slight warm color cast from the top of my image down and a slight cool color cast from the bottom of my image up. The center area is color neutral. How to I correct for these color casts?
I tried an adjustment layer with linear gradients added of very pale red to transparent to kill the cool in the bottom half and a linear gradient of very pale blue to transparent to kill the warm in the upper half. The color was somewhat neutralized, but now the top and bottom are even darker, more saturated.
I'm thinking I need something like a gradient "photo filter" for Photoshop?
Anyone know the quick way to solve this problem?
    Thanks,
    J

I just answered my own question: I changed the color of the Dodge Tool to pale Red and took out the cool cast and now I'm going to change the color to a cool color and take out the warm cast.
    Sorry.

  • [Question] How to remove baby blue text chat bubbl...

My Skype for Windows (windows 7), just updated to the latest version 6.22.0.107. With this update Skype has completely changed the look and feel of the entire interface giving it a light blue overlay on everything.
I was wondering if there is any way to remove the light blue chat bubbles that now show up surrounding all text messages sent or received?
I would prefer the old simple black and white standard text message layout of the previous version of skype. I find that the light blue bothers my vision and makes it more difficult for me to read my messages and follow the conversation.
Thanks for any help with this issue.

    How to remove them:
    http://download.skype.com/msi/SkypeSetup_6.21.0.104.msi
The Skype design will as all other designs evolve. Look at for instance MS office, the 2003 version looks nothing like the 2007 one and beyond. Reasons for this; ribbons made people more productive (according to designers).
The design quirk now, is devices, all for now 3 of them phones, pads, and Computers. Crossplattform design is not an easy task, and will offcourse cause design changes.
That said, chat bubbles and the like are a new Skype thing, is it good, we don't know yet. When I had my old Nokia phone, I laughted off the iBubbles, now I'm om Android, and used to them.
Would I prefer the old msg style? Yes, most likely, but I do manage to have fun in the new one (phone).

    Hi pansylou,
If you could share the photo you are referring to, I would be happy to try and make a better suggestion, but I think Content Aware Fill should give you the best result here. Try taking a look at this video and see if the technique works for you:

  • Blue Color Cast when Printing

I have just carefully calibrated (again) my Canon Pro 9000 Mk11 Printer and Asus Pro Art screen using Spyder equipment.
Printing in LR4.4 consistently produces a blue cast.  I moved to Elements 11 and using the same just created profile printed the same picture/file.
    No color cast.
I have LR5 Beta also so I printed same on it.  No color cast - to all intents and purposes identical to Elements 11.
'Perceptual' setting used throughout and no 'Print Adjustment' used in LR.
    I am using Windows 8 64bit.
Why should LR4 only produce a color cast?  The settings have been carefully checked ...

    Hello:
I'm not sure of site etiquite, whether I should ask another's advice about a separate problem, but my dilemma is so much like this and I have not been able to fix it on my own nor with Adobe or Epson's tech support.
I too am getting out of my printer only prints that have a blue cast to them. My printer is an Epson r2000. I print from Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CS 6 or now its Creative Cloud equivalent. Yesterday, the i7 laptop I have been using for photo editing (with a better monitor attached) started producing only bluish prints--intended to be black and white (the max whites are white but everything else has a blue cast). It also was apparent in color prints when I tested that alternative. I was not too concerned because yesterday FedEx also delivered a gonzo new desktop computer that I had ordered just for photo editing. I thought, "Well, I'll install all my Adobe stuff there and migrate the Lightroom files and everything will be OK." But, immediately, the blue-cast problem showed up on the new computer. I thought I probably "migrated" the problem when I brought over my catalog, images and settings from the laptop.
I reinstalled the newly installed printer driver and reinstalled the latests ICC files for the papers I use (Ilford Gold Fiber Silk and Gold Fiber Mono), but the problem persisted. I didn't yet know about blowing off the preset files.
I spent a lot of time on the phone with Epson yesterday and chatted at length (1 hour 39 minutes) online with Adobe tech support today. Adobe had me do what you recommended--blow off the preset files and begin again, all to no avail. On my own, I again deleted and reinstalled the printer driver and wiped out the preset files.
Still, I get a bluish overlay on my prints.
After reading your posts, I meticulously checked my settings. Everything seems alright.
I did one other thing. I printed images that had not been imported to lightroom in Windows Photo View through the same 13-inch Epson. They came out perfect.
Now, I just don't know what to do next. Epson and Adobe support have done their apparent best. I live in a small town at the end of the Columbia River where I am looked upon as one of the computer problem solvers (a degree in Literature notwithstanding).
I've thought of blowing off lightroom 5 and going back to version 4, but, as I understand it, that would mean losing all my metadata for some 40,000 images dating back to 1966, most of which I had to plug in by hand since they are from scanned negatives.
    Do you have any advice?
I am a little anxious because I am supposed to have prints ready for a show opening on July 27.
Thank you in advance for any advice you may offer.

  • Bridge Raw adds a blue color cast to every pic once opened in PS.

This happens with every picture. Whether I make an edit in bridge raw or just open it in bridge raw.  Once I ask to open the image in photoshop the color cast is added.  Please notice the navigator window image is normal.  I have a new hard drive and just reinstalled Adobe Creative Suite 4 and the problem is still there.  I do not know what to do.

  • In acrobat 9 pro how do you fill a color in a picture?

    Hello Everyone,
Does anyone know how to fill a color in a picture using Adobe acrobat 9 Pro. Lets say you have a picture in PDF format, that has a picture of a billboard, and that billboard is not really straight, kinda different shape, how could someone leave it in as a PDF and color the bilboard?
    Any help would be great!

Actually Graffiti it might be able to be done via 'touchup tool' without creating a new PDF. Assuming of course a photo editor like Photoshop is present.
To the OP: Acrobat is intended as final destination format and not really suitable for editing (although minor changes can be made with the full Acrobat product). It's always best to do the changes to the original document and then make a new PDF making sure you acknowledge proper version control procedures. Changing the PDF means that you now have a PDF that doesn't match the original document.

  • How can I see which color space a picture is in in LR5

I don't want to open the pics in Bridge or in Photoshop, but I want to see this information in LR5

If the image is a camera JPG, then many cameras substitute an underscore for the first character of the filename (this is I think in the standards of the digital camera manufacturer's association) when the camera is set to AdobeRGB. This is not present when pictures are taken with the camera set to SRGB.
This information is not relevant for camera Raw, but at least some cameras will in fact repeat this same naming convention, for those as well.
I don't recall that this information is readily accessible, for derived files which have been assigned a colourspace when created for external editing. It is possible to make external editing presets, but IIRC the standard file suffix (such as, "XXXXX-edit.XXX") is not set separately by these. In the case where a file is sent to Photoshop in an as yet unsaved state, one could when saving it, modify the file name to denote the colourspace.
However, I am not sure how useful that would be from the LR end.
If you would have liked a file to be in a big colourspace, but it has previously been saved in a small colourspace, then there's little you can now do about that. If you would have liked it to be in a small colourspace - you simply select that when exporting.
You simply don't need to bother about a file's colourspace or bit depth otherwise. LR takes care of making best use, of whatever is there.

  • Contrast adjustment creates color cast - why and how to fix?

I used a local curves adjustment (with a layer mask) set to "Strong contrast" to make the space shuttle "pop" in a particular shot. I looked it so much I copied that adjustment layer to the rest of the launch sequence. I then realized that as I went earlier in the sequence (20 seconds in real time at most) each successive photo developed a blue color cast from the contrast adjustment. I tried a luminosity blend hoping that would take the color out but no change.
Ideas as to why? And best way to correct?
PS: It's a tiff file that was sent from lightroom with the proper white balance.
    Thanks!
    Roscoe

Could you post lores or sections of the image where the adjustment worked and one where it resulted in the cast?
If switching the Adjustment Layer’s Blend Mode to Luminosity does not work (which seems a bit peculiar) the you could possibly work against that with a Hue/Adjustments Layer (in a Group with the Layer Mask applied to that instead of the Curves Layer or clipping masked to the Curves Layer after turning off »Blend Clipped Layers as Group« for it).
