How to remove device driver?

I have put the wrong driver on my IMac running OSX 10.7.3 and need to go to an older driver. I've tried to find out where the drivers are but no sucess. There is a driver for XBox 360 game controllers that I loaded and it appears in System Preferences but controller hardware is not recognized by the driver even though the System profiler see's the XBox 360 controller listed under USB devices. I'm trying to remove the current driver and load an older driver which some people say works. I can't find any system file with the name XBox 360 in it on my computer but when I try to install an older version of the driver it doesn't allow me because it says I have a newer version on my drive. So in general, how do you remove non functioning drivers?

If it has a prefpane, then right-click on it and select remove.

  • How to remove device associated to iCloud

    Hello,
when I was setting up an iPhone, I had the device set up initially with my iCloud however that device has been passed on to new apple ID, however under devices it comes up in settings on icloud.com and still associates itself with my account.
I have signed my apple ID out of the iPhone, and entered the new account on there too. However it still associates itself and such and doesn't seem to be able to be deleted from my iCloud account and I can't remove the phone number from that phone either.
    Any suggestions?

  • Satellite A30 - how to remove Hard Drive

    Hi, New Here...
Can anyone tell me how to remove the hard drive in my Tosh A30...
    Thanks
    captainp

    Hi Tim,
The hard drive on your SA30 is underneath the optical drive so you need to slide the optical drive out of its slot (undo the screw marked F5 on the bottom of the notebook).
The hard drive will then be visible fastened in with four cross-headed screws which must be removed (two on each side of the hard drive. With the screws removed, carefully slide the hard drive towards the front of the notebook to disconnect it from its connector and carefully lift it out of its bay.

Does anyone know of a way to remove a drive from the media pool of the rotated drive media repository?
I accidentally added one to the repository and now I want to get it out of there so Veeam Backup & Replication  does not try to backup to a drive that is normally full.

Hi Frank, and a warm welcome to the forums!
There still is that paper clip hole, but on some G4s you have to remove the faceplate or even drive to do it.
Does it boot into Open Firmware with CMDOption+of ?
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=42642
Boot into Open Firmware and eject If you have a Mac that will not startup properly and has a stuck disc, try booting into Open Firmware by holding down Command, Option, O key and F key during startup. After booting into Open Firmware, type the command eject-cd.

  • How to remove devices shown in RME and not existing in DCR?

I have problem with some devices (in fact IP addresses) that was discovered and used by RME in the past but are not reachable anymore. They spoil statistics in RME (collection of inventory and configuration) however they do not exist in DCR. Do you have any ideas how to get rid of them?
    RME: 4.2.0
    CS: 3.2.0

Check Common Services > Device and Credentials > Reports > Devices not configured in ACS to see if your devices show up there.  If they do, then you will need to either add those devices to ACS (temporarily) so you can remove them from DCR; or you will need to temporarily disable ACS integration, remove the devices from DCR, then re-enable integration.

  • HOW TO REMOVE BLUETOOTH DRIVER

I using apple imac 10.6.7 os,can i know how to lock or remove the imac bluetooth driver? Due to the security reason.
    thanks.

Why not just turn it off in your system preferences?
And if you really don't want accessing the bluetooth preferences after turning it off remove the preference panel from /System/Library/PreferencePanes.
But if you insist, and really want to remove the drivers, then like any other driver they are in /System/Library/Extensions.  Based solely on the name I assume they are IOBluetoothFamily.kext and IOBluetoothHIDDriver.kext.  It's not clear whether removing those will break your system or not.  So you better keep the originals as backups and be prepared to boot off some other boot disk to restore them (observe ownership and permissions).

  • How to remove hard drive password on a Portege M400-170 ?

    Hi,
I've read a lot of things in this forum, in the user manual, I even phoned the support Toshiba and i've still no answer to my problem.
At the first use of the PC, i defined a hard drive password. I now want to remove this password.
The user manual and the forum advise me to open the bios configuration, under windows, wich is supposed to offer the possibility to change and remove password. No option, no possibility to change nor remove the password.
The phone support tell me that if the bios configuration under windows do not show the option to change or remove password, I have no way to do this (!!?!).
I need your knowledge and your help :)
    I thank you in advance.
    Thomas (sorry for my english)

I understand this sentence in the context of "If you forget your password".
I have no doubt you are right but i still search because some informations let me hope it's possible ;-)
In fact, i think this hdd password prevent me to restore my system with, for example, Norton Ghost (when i boot on the restore cd, i can not see my hdd)...
Perhaps it's another problem, i don't really know.
    Your opinion ?

  • Maps - how to remove devices from the Share / Send To list?

My old iPhone 4S (as well as my current iPhone) shows up in the list when I click the Share / Send To button in Mavericks new Maps app. How do I remove it?
Traces of the old iPhone exist nowhere else I can find: Not in iTunes, not in iCloud's Find My iPhone, not even when I search for files containing its name using Finder (including system files in that search). I even removed my iCloud account from my Mac and then set it up again.
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.
