Just wondering if someone could assist in information regarding removal for good of a dialogue box that appears on start up. I just click ok to
remove it . Once I start the computer up again ,there it is ...HELP PLS

Why do I get these error messages saying that "HWNetMgr" and "HWPortDetect" are insecure start up items?

I have a brand new MacBook Pro, and two days ago I tried to install a Mobile Broadband named Tele2 Mobile partner, in cooperation with Huawei. The installation couldn't finish, so I removed the components that I could see had already been installed. But ever since I tried to install it, I get two error messages every time I start up safari, saying that I have two insecure start up items named "HWNetMgr" and "HWPortDetect". I have checked my start up items, and the only one I had was Spotify. I removed Spotify as a start object and restarted the computer, but I still got those two error messages. I have now searched through my computer several times and I just can't find these two things.
Does anyone know what this is about? What can I do to make these error messages go away? I am open to try any suggestions possible! This is a huge investment to me and I just don't want to have ruined it the first week! Please help me!

After upgrading to 10.6.8, I received error message about my Symantec Norton anti-virus security, so I upgraded that to security that's compatible with 10.6.8. Resolution:
To prevent the "Insecure Startup Items folder detected" message from appearing
Open Disk Utility from /Applications/Utilities.
Select the name of the volume where Mac OS X is installed (default name is "Macintosh HD").
Click the Repair Disk Permissions button.
After permissions repair is complete, restart Mac OS X and verify that the message no longer appears.

I'm using Labview to send an e-mail from outlook and everytime I got a dialogue box which inform that a software is trying to send an e-mail. To send this e-mail I have to confirm operation. How can I avoid this dialogue box ?

I don't know what code you're using but the attached VI works with my version of Outlook and doesn't have any pop-up messages. I downloaded it from somewhere a while ago but don't remember where it was from.

I have checked the screen shot and it seems that you use the Windows XP Start menu and not the Classic Start menu.
Please click right on the green Start button and select Properties.
Then the window Taskbar and Start Menu Properties should appear.
Then switch to the tab Start menu and press the Customize button.
There you could try to clean the list of the programs
Please also check the Advanced tab and the Start menu items list.

In Apple maps, when I type in an address, it comes up on the map with the address in a text box and a red pin below it. I've read that you need to delete the address in search to get rid of the red pin. I want to get rid of the text box so I can see the map around the address I am searching. The text box blocks a lot of the area if you are trying to discern where on a street this address is, etc. How can I do this?

Thanks for the idea. I did it as far as it would go and it is actually covering the area I'm trying to see.
Knowing that if I clear the search, the area is visible. However, when I tried it and did some adjustments to the app, changing they view, it jumped back to my home address so I had to start over. I assumed there was a way to keep the pin so I don't lose my location and clear the text box as we don't need to keep seeing it as it is up in the info bar. It sounds like this is not designed into the app.

When I call the Web Dynpro ABAP applicaion, it shows the Login screen, after proper authentication, it shows a SAP NetWeaver Web Dynpro ABAP white screen/banner stating "Starting Application... ", and after sometime it launches the Web Dynpro application. I want to remove the white screen. How can we do that?

Hi Amber,
Just as a quick note: There is no artificial delay when displaying the splash screen. During that time the application loads itself. The screen is removed as soon as everything will have been initialized including calling all application hooks such as wdDoInit on all the different controllers. This means, that by removing the splash screen you will only get a blank white screen with a "Application is being loaded.." message that will stay as long as the splash screen would have done. Hence, disabling or enabling it is more a matter of taste, not of performance.

I want to eliminate the animation that is on my Mozilla Firefox home page. It has been there since the latest update ( I do like the changes). I thought that once I opened it up and browsed through the new features it would go away and I would have my regular start page. I do not mind whats below the search box, I just dislike the animation above it.

Blue screen after reinstall of 10.1, how to remove OS X and start over?

I updated 10.1 to 10.1.5 a month ago, then Software Update found additional updates to 10.1.5. After running them, several applications (especially Flash) stopped working correctly.
I attempted Disk Utility etc and found nothing wrong. I then attempted to uninstall 10.1.5 with the original 10.1 install disc but it does not allow that option. In desperation I tried installing 10.1 from the DVD, which it said was successful, but on reboot (after the normal MAc OSX bootup window) I get a blue screen with black-lettered clock in the upper right and a moveable mouse pointer but no desktop and all keys give only the submarine sound.
I am now running from the 10.1 System on another drive.
How do I remove all OSX stuff from my original hardrive and start over?

You cannot install a previous version of OS X over a more recent version without first erasing the hard drive (at least in your case because of the versions involved.) To reinstall 10.1 over 10.1.5 requires that you erase the hard drive, then install 10.1.
You might have saved some time and trouble by simply updating the software that wasn't working to newer versions that are compatible with the version of OS X you have installed.

Removed background in photoshop - but how to remove white box in illy?

I have successfully removed the background on an image in PS. Saved it as a GIF..
Then placed it in illustrator. However there is white space behind the image, the image has a white transparent box behind it....
The image can be placed ontop of another layer fine in illy. But.....is it possible to save just the image without any white space behind it?

You need to first convert your background layer into a "normal" layer. select the motive in Photoshop (there are several tutorials for this, it largely depends on the subject which tool you use). Then you create a mask (or just delete the pixels). Make sure there is no background layer. Then save as PSD
The Photoshop manual should help on everything that is not clear.

During startup or a restart, the keyboard will act as a Windows layout until OS X loads. The normal Mac layout, starting left to right would be, Crtl, Option, Command, Space Bar. On some Mac keyboards, Option is also marked Alt.
As a Windows layout (until OS X loads and remaps the keys for the Mac), The Alt (Option) key is in the Windows position next to the space bar and will operate as the Option key before the OS loads.
So, restart and hold down the Alt key to get the startup manager.

I am unable to add any more photos and even download the latest updates because the start up disk is full....
Is it possible to move the files off the start up disk without deleting them?

Well you can move them to an external drive but this will delete them from the internal drive. Which is what you have to do to free up disk space.
