How to remove Firefox and all its files?

I've been primarily using Firefox 1.0 and mistakenly decided to upgrade to 1.5. Since then, it constantly locks up and won't work properly. As well, it keeps reverting back to the 1.0 version although I downloaded 1.5 and it worked initially.
How can I just remove all versions of Firefox and start over?
Thanks,
Jeff

Move the application to the trash. Empty the trash!
You can also delete some files from the users' library Application Support folder.
To find out where you have them, do a search in Spotlight (type Firefox, and wait just a little bit).

  • How to completely remove safari and all its files?

I have Windows Vista and I need to COMPLETELY remove Safari and ALL its files. It is important that it is completely removed, and I've already tried simply uninstalling (from "uninstall a program" in the control panel)it but it doesn't get rid of EVERYTHING safari. I think some of the files are damaged or something because Safari won't open. How would I do this?

Just go into Control panel and Uninstall programs. Select Safari and select uninstall.

  • How can I completely remove iTunes and all associated files/programs from my Windows PC?

How can I completely remove iTunes and all associated files/programs from my Windows PC?

iTunes, along with Quick Time, iCloud, Apple Software Update, Bonjour, Apple Mobile Device Support and Apple Application Support can all be removed from your PC by uninstalling them using 'Uninstall or change a program' in Control Panel. The only obvious thing that will be left behind is your iTunes library which remains untouched. If you want to remove that as well it's just a question of deleting it.
    Hope that helps.

  • How to properly remove e17 and all its dependencies?

    Hello,
I installed a while back e17 and would like to do some clean up...
Could someone confirm if all the below package (except notify-sharp-svn) are indeed e17 ones?

In CS4, is there a easy way to delete the project and all associated files from the hard drive? I am getting quite a buildup in Roaming/Adobe/Common/Media Cache Files and other places. Can't find anything in Classroom in a book or on the web.
    Thanks

  • I accidently removed Firefox and all my settings, how do I get it all back?

I was removing another program in add or remove and accidently removed firefox now I have lost everything, is there any way of getting it all back? ff3.6.15 wxp

It depends on how you uninstalled Firefox.
If you used the default options when you uninstalled Firefox, all you have to do is download the setup file again from http://www.mozilla.com then run it to re-install Firefox. It will automatically pick up your user data such as bookmarks and passwords. The user data is not deleted if you use the default options when uninstalling Firefox.
If you selected the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data" it will have deleted all of your user data such as bookmarks and passwords. In you did this you are unlikely to be able to recover the user data.

    Hello BTL73,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
This article shows how to add a login item. Do the revese to remove a login item.
Mac OS X: Setting up Login, Startup items
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2602
Log in as the user who wishes to have a login item or as an admin user.
Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu.
Choose Accounts from the View menu.
Click the name of the user.
Mac OS X 10.3.x: Click the Startup Items button.
Mac OS X 10.4 or later: Click the Login Items button.
    Click the "Add {+}" button.
The item you selected will automatically open the next time you log in.

  • How do I transfer over my Pages program and all its files to my new mac?

I recently bought a macbook air and would like to continue to use my Pages program that I have been using on my old Macbook pro. Does anyone know if I can redownload it from the Apple store without having to pay or if there is another way I can access the program and all my old files?
    Thanks!

The Apple Store is not the same as the Mac App Store, which is what I think KarenSelena is referring to when she says "Apps store." So, the question is, did you buy a retail box or a license for a downloaded trial of iWork '09 or did you buy the individual apps from the Mac App Store?
If you did buy Pages from the Mac App Store you can go to the "purchases" section of the App Store.app & download it again using the same Apple ID as before.

  • HT5527 I have had my storage reduced once already.  In the process they removed my "Save" mailbox and all its contents.  I do notcare about contents so much as starting a new Save box.  How?  (OS X 10.7.5)

My iCloud storage is being reduced.  I have already had it reduced once.  In the process they removed my "Save" mailbox and all its contents.  (One would think that that would be the last thing they removed.  But they took that and the "Trash" mailbox, yet left several thousand old and read messages which were in my "Inbox".)  I do not expect to get the "Save" contents back, but I would like to restore the "Save" mailbox, so that I can start from scratch saving msgs in it again.  But I cannot figure out how to do that.  When I go to "Mailbox" on the top line (between View and Message) and select New Mailbox I get a dialog box in which I can name a new mailbox.  When I type Save, for the name of the new Mailbox I get a response; "The mailbox 'Save" already exists."  But I cannot find it.
    Thanks,  Bill Burner

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    Regards
    TD

  • How can I save a page and all its component parts in a single file, like IE does as an MHT - it's much easier for mailing to people where page address not available?? (as in output from an airline booking site, for example)

how can I save a page and all its component parts in a single file, like IE does as an MHT?
It's much easier for mailing to people where page address not available?? (as in output from an airline booking site, for example)
It is simply too painful to have to zip everything up into a single file to send. MHT format has been available for years now from IE, and with every new FF release it's the first thing I look for. I have been using FF for years, and hate having to come out of it, over into IE |(which I even took out of startup) and key everything in again, in order to send somebody something in a convenient format that they can open with a single click.
I can't believe this hasn't been asked before, so have you looked at it and rejected it? Have MS kept the file format secret?
    Thanks
    MG

This is not really an answer just my comments on your question.
I am sure I recollect efforts being made to get mhtml to work with FF.
Probably the important thing to remember about .mhtml is that if other browsers do support it they may need addons, and may not necessarily render the content correctly/consistently.
There are FF addons designed for archiving webpages, you could try them, but that then assumes the recipient has the same software.
You could simply save the page from FF to your XP pc; then offline open it with and save it using IE, before then emailing using FF, and attaching the .mht or mhtml file that you have now created on your PC.
As an alternative method, in some cases it could be worth considering taking a screen grab of the required page, then sending that to the recipient as a single email attatchment using either a bitmap or jpeg file format for instance.
Something such as an airline booking may be designed with a print option, possibly it could be worthwile looking at sending the print file itself as an email attachment.

  • Remove packages and all the config files associated with it

How can I remove a package and all the files folders hidden folders config files and examples which are installed with it.
In short how can I revert the system back to the state when the package was not even there.
When i remove a package i still see some folders which are associated with it in some weird directories.
Is there a way to get rid of those.
    Thanks

    From the pacman man page:
    Remove Options
    -c, --cascade
Remove all target packages, as well as all packages that depend on one or more target packages. This operation is recursive, and must be used with care since it can remove many potentially needed packages.
    -k, --keep
Removes the database entry only. Leaves all files in place.
    -n, --nosave
Instructs pacman to ignore file backup designations. Normally, when a file is removed from the system the database is checked to see if the file should be renamed with a ".pacsave" extension.
    -s, --recursive
Remove each target specified including all of their dependencies, provided that (A) they are not required by other packages; and (B) they were not explicitly installed by the user. This operation is recursive and analogous to a backwards --sync operation, and helps keep a clean system without orphans.
-n seems to be what you are looking for.

double click my domain in the Applications folder in i web
Just so we're on the same page you mean when you double click on the domain file that's located in your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder, right?
if we're on the same page try the following:
delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your Home() /Library/Preferences folder.
go to your Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.
    launch iWeb and try again.
If that doesn't help continue with:
move the domain file from your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder to the Desktop.
launch iWeb, create a new test site, save the new domain file and close iWeb.
go to the your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder and delete the new domain file.
move your original domain file from the Desktop to the iWeb folder.
    launch iWeb and try again.
