How to remove old iPod from my account

I purchased a new iPod Touch and have it up and running.. I want to give my iPod classic to my grand daughter. I have restored it and renamed it, but I want to remove it from my account but it seems there is no option in editing my account to remove a machine from it. How can she register it to a new account when she gets it or use it when she goes to the iTunes store if it is registered in my account?

How can she register it to a new account when she gets it or use it when she goes to the iTunes store if it is registered in my account?
When the iPod is connected to her computer, change the computer it's associated with. Reregistering it with Apple can be done by clicking here and following the instructions, but isn't needed.

  • How to remove old Ipod from Itunes?

    Hi.
Have bought a new Ipod Classic 80g as wanted more space.
Used to have an old ipod mini 4g.
How do I remove the association of the mini from itunes?
Now when I buy music from istore it still thinks it is for the mini not my new classic so I have to enter my apple id again to authorise songs for the classic. It then says I have used up two of the 5 devices I'm allowed. (1 for Classic and 1 for Mini)
So, how do I tell iTunes I no longer want to sync with the old mini?
    thanks.

  • HT2731 my oldest daughter recently bought a new ipod touch and gave her old one to her brother.  I need to know how to unlink the old ipod from her account without losing all the music and games on it.  He would like to have his own account.

My oldest daughter recently bought a new ipod touch and gave her old one to her brother.  How do I unlink his ipod from her account and set up his own without losing the music and apps already on it?

Connect it to his iTunes library and set it up as a new device.  You should be prompted to Erase and Sync the iPod if his iTunes library is separate from hers.
Or head to Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase all Content and Settings.

  • How to Remove old updates from Software Update service

Running a 10.10.2 OS X Server and have a lot of old Update files I need to get rid of. I have followed instructions on...
Mac OS X Server 10.4 or later: Removing old updates from Software Update Server
    ...but getting this error...
    No such file or directory
    ...when typing...
    grep swupd /etc/swupd/com.apple.server.swupdate.plist > ~/Desktop/update_list.txt
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I don't use Apple's own SUS software I use Reposado instead, however it is my understanding that the locations of files used by Apple's SUS software have been moved with Yosemite/Server 4.x.
Try looking in the following locations
    /Library/Server/Software Update/Config/
    /Library/Server/Software Update/Data/
    /private/var/db/swupd/

  • Linksys SmartWifi - How to remove a device from the account

I had a EA6500 and a E4200 in the same house, both running the Linksys SmartWifi firmware. Both devices show up when I login to the SmartWifi admin page. I no longer own the EA6500 but the device still shows up in my device list when I login to the E4200. I'd like to understand what i need to do to remove the EA6500 from the SmartWifi device registration while still keeping access to my E4200.

There is probably a way, but why bother? It does not hurt anything.

  • How to remove my information from guest account

    Hello.
I've created a guest account for someone to use while I'm away next week.
When I log in to the "guest" account, I can see the icons for my hard drive, 2 extra hard drives and time machine on an external HD, on the display. I can remove all of the icons by using preferences and un-checking the "hard drives, dvd/cd icons to display" on the desktop options.
My problem is knowing the user of the guest account can do the same thing and have access to all of my data. Is there an option in accounts> creating a guest account that I missed somehow? Is there another way to be sure that my data is safe from the user of my guest account?
    Any help would be appreciated.

Your data are safe unless you've made the guest account an admin account. Otherwise, the other user has no access to your files if they are using a managed account. Furthermore, you can use parental controls to further restrict that user's access to data on the hard drive.
The concept of having user accounts is that each user's files are private. Being able to have a drive on the Desktop does not give access to everything on the drive unless the user account has been configured to do so.

  • How to remove credit card from iTunes account

I have been trying to download FREE apps and recently it says its not valid and to change it. I don't have a real card or money to spend for an iTunes card. I have looked all over the web and nothing useful. I don't have a computer nor have one to use. I would think after paying money for a product and service it would work properly, even more so for how much these are worked on.

If you only want the free apps, take a look here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is  critical. Note that you can do this only when creating a new Apple ID. You cannot use an existing ID.
You will of course not be able to get anything other than the free apps without entering in some sort of payment method (credit card, prepaid iTunes card, gift certificate, etc.)
    Regards.

  • How to remove old items from right-click contextual menus?

So, I've installed two versions of Photoshop. The older CS4 and then recently upgraded to CS5. I've uninstalled some items (Photoshop CS4, Illustrator CS4) from the system using the Adobe uninstaller. But for some strange reason, if I control-click or right-click on an item, say a PDF, Photoshop CS4 or Illustrator CS4 Still show up in the list ...
I've searched the ~/Library/ folder and can't find a Contextual menus folder.
In the /Library/Contextual menus folder only 1 item is listed even if I show all files.
Any ideas? I'm very much lost and I would really like to have the applications that no longer exist on the drive removed from the list... Thanks in advance
