How to Remove the iTunes Music Store Arrow?

OK, I may be totally missing something, but how do you get the little arrow (that now shows up next to songs, albums, artists, etc) to disappear? I can't do it in view (only manages columns) or preferences or music store...
annoying to have my homemade tracks/obscure stuff come up with that little arrow...no you're not going to have it in the itunes music store....

For the Terminally challenged, there's already been a couple of free apps written which do this:

  • I can't get into the itunes music store - can anyone help?

When I try to get to the itunes music store, I get the following error message:
itunes could not connect to the music store. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active. Then try again.
I don't understand what this means, and I don't know how to do what it is telling me to fix it. I'd appreciate any advice anyone can offer. Please be very specific, because I don't have lots of computer knowledge.

Were you connecting regulary up until a week ago? I have noticed that I have gotten a lot of those messages tonight. May the iTune site is very busy? (a lot of iTunes cards given out today)
I closed iTunes and then re-opened and it helped. My connections have been intermittent at best tonight.

  • Will I be able to sync/copy the music I buy from the iTunes Music Store to my Nokia N8?

I am new to the iTunes Music Store, which was recently enabled for my home country. I've set up my account and am ready to buy music. However, before buying any music from the store, I want to be sure that I will be able to sync or copy the tracks or albums between my computer and my Nokia N8. If that's possible, how will I need to sync? Using the Nokia Suite software, which is how I usually sync music? Or using iTunes? Thanks in advance!

Music from the iTunes Store comes as 256kbps AAC. If your Nokia will accept that format, then you can transfer the tracks to your phone via whatever method the Nokia uses (iTunes itself syncs only to Apple devices). If your Nokia does not accept 256kbps AAC, then you can convert the tracks to a format the Nokia can accept. See:

  • Podcast gone from the iTunes Music Store

I am pleading for assistance to get my education podcast relisted in the iTunes Music Store.
Our podcast has be listed in the iTunes Music Store for a while. 24 hours ago our podcast is now gone from the iTunes Store but can be found at this direct link:
    http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=263153505
The feed is in the valid iTunes format and is a "clean" podcast. Can someone please tell me how to get the podcast relisted?
    Thank you.

Try this - It works for music downloads:
Delete the video from iTunes library and choose move to trash.
Take it out of the trash and put it on the desktop.
Click on it, and it opens iTunes and plays.
Depending on your settings, this should also add it back to your iTunes Folder. Once you're sure it's there, you can delete the copy on your desktop.

  • New Episodes of my Podcast are not showing up in the iTunes Music Store?

this isn't really an "itunes for mac" question, but since i do my production on a mac, i'll ask it here!
i produce and record a weekly podcast (about 2 hours each week) which has been listed in the iTMS since it started (last february)
this last week we recorded episode 31 and uploaded it to my .mac account, and all went well... the new episode is downloading to anyone who already has subscribed to the rss feed (homepage.mac.com/airplayradio/podcast.xml), but it hasn't shown up in the iTunes Music Store... the software i use to upload the shows generates an automatic ping, and i've done a manual ping a couple of times a day since wednesday, but nothing...
any ideas? absolutely -nothing- (software/hardware/etc.) has changed since i uploaded episode 30 a week ago, and that showed up within an hour...
    many thanks for any advice!
    cheers

well, i never got a reply directly to my question, but i was directed by email to post my problem within itunes... go to the podcast page of my podcast and then select "report a concern"... i always thought this was to report offensive podcasts, but if you click on that button you'll see a pull down list with a bunch of problems... i selected "difficulty downloading" and then explained the problem completely... as i said, i never heard back from anyone, but about 4 days later my podcast episode showed up... and this past wednesday we uploaded the latest episode and it showed up in the iTMS almost immediately... go figure?!
if anyone's interested, the podcast name is Schnauzer Logic and its comedy and talk and music and pop culture (i used to be the host of a morning show)... good for a giggle once a week for a couple of hours.
    cheers!

  • Can not connect to the itunes music store

yea, I can't connect to the iTunes music store. a message pops up saying, "iTunes could not connect to the music store. The network connection was refused" then it goes on to say that "Make sure your network settings or correct and your network connection is active, then try again." well this started happening on and off before 6.0.3 came out, then when I upgraded to 6.0.3 it would always do it, not letting me access the store. I have deleted iTunes and reinstalled it, reset my modem and router, restarted my computer. And the internet connection works fine, because I am typing this on the computer I am having the problem with, and I can connect to services like aim. also, i have another comuter on my network, and it connects to the music store just fine. please help, thanks!

  • The itunes music store is unable to process purchases at this time.

Any body getting this message b/c it is really frustrating when i want to buy mausic and this message pops up. everything is current and up2date. i got an e-mail from i-tunes telling me that the problem has been fixed, so i went to buy some songs today and the message came up again. what 2 do? "The itunes music store is unable to process purchases at this time. Credit card processing is temporarily unavailable."

I have the same problem, too. I was using paypal, but switched my account from paypal to mastercard, still no go. I can't believe there is no phone or web chat help from apple. Hope they choke to death on their iPod Nano profits. HIRE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR CURRENT, PAYING CUSTOMERS. There are alternatives out there...

  • Can do everything but buy music at the iTunes Music Store. Why?

I can access the Music store, no problem. I can navigate, listen to music samples, download podcasts, etc., but when I hit the Buy button for any music album, or track off an album, I get this message:
Could not purchase "Unknown". An unknown error occurred (400). There was an error in the Music Store. Please try again later.
I emailed Apple about this and was surprised to received a reply in less than 24 hours. They said they were sorry, and that the easiest way to resolve error 400 is to upgrade to iTunes 6.0 or later. That's no help.
It was apparent that the "iTunes Music Store team" person had not read my message carefully because in it I had said all my software was up-to-date, including iTunes 6.01.
I deleted iTunes and downloaded it again. No luck. I finally went elsewhere to buy the album I wanted. Is Apple losing sales from you too?

I found the solution. It is posted in plain sight on the iTunes for Mac OS X support page (http://www.apple.com/ca/support/itunes/) under Troubleshooting information: "What to do if you see error 400 connecting to the iTunes Music Store".
I followed the instructions and then downloaded a song, no error message.
I was guilty of what I accused Apple tech support of - not reading carefully enough. I had been looking only in the Discussions section. Thanks, Apple.

  • Itunes WONT load the itunes music store!

i havent had this problem before. its pretty recent that it has occured. whenever i go to click itunes music store the loading bar appears like normal and it just keeps loading. i could let it sit there for hours and nothing would happen... it doesnt say CANNOT CONNECT.
-I have downloaded the most recent version of itunes so i know that isnt the problem
    Please help
    ~Mike

I am subscribed to a similar thread and thought I would confirm the information on that one.
I too have never had a problem with the music store and then, all of a sudden, couldn't connect. I was getting an error message saying iTunes could not connect and I should check my browser. Did that and still nada so I posted on here (not having been able to negotiate the Apple website sufficiently to obtain an e-mail address!)
It appears that Windows recently put out a load of security updates and this may well be the reason that anyone using iTunes on Windows may not be able to connect. The security patch they have released apparently stops iTunes connecting to the internet and hence no downloads!
Apparently the Apple bods have said that this is a Windows patch and thus a Windows issue and should be fixed by Microsoft and they don't intend to do anything about it!
However, I reckon that as soon as someone notices that the revenue from sales has dropped significantly, someone will fix it. In the meantime though, it appears no solution on the horizon!

  • Cannot access the iTunes music store.

Is there a block on iTunes music store when you have a Polish address for your iTunes account? Since changing my address to a Polish one, I can no longer access the music store, only the software applications.

I have not been able to assess Itunes for many months - or the online software update function either. I noticed an Internet Explorer logo pops up every time I launch either function (software update or Itunes music store), then it shows the bar download at 1/3rd, where it stays until I get the timed-out message.
I went to update Explorer (in case that was the problem) and Microsoft says it stopped supporting Mac in 2005!
Is that the problem? Is Mac still using a Microsoft browser to access their updates and store, when Microsoft doesn't even support Mac anymore? I suspect so, or else why does the Explorer logo always show up?
I expect Apple is losing a lot of Itunes sales because of this. It appears I am not the only one having this ongoing problem.
Will upgrading my OS help. or will I get the same Explorer logo?

  • Ugh: "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Music Store"

    G5, OSX 10.4.10, iPod 5G 1.2.1, iTunes 7.3.1.
Actually I have not been able to access the music store for over a year. It stopped working after an iTunes upgrade I do not recall. 2G finally died and I just bought a new 5G.
I can enter the music store and preview songs, but I cannot "add song" or access my account.
I logged out and re-started iTunes, now I cannot log in and I cannot even "create a new account". Always same error.
I have trashed and re-downloaded and re-installed iTunes a couple times same results. Keychain First Aid did not find any problems. I run Cocktail 3.8.1 a couple times/week (defaults). I have few fonts and none of them appear bad. I do not have any web accelerators.
Any other ideas? This is bumming me out.

    Howdy jjlearnt,
It sounds like you're getting an error anytime you try to get to the iTunes Store in the iTunes application. I can see how that would be frustrating. Take a look at this article which mentions the error number you are getting:

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Itunes could not connect to the itunes music store.

I have been reading the posts and though this issue has been reported repeatedly, I cannot seem to find an answer of how to solve the problem.
I am using a Gateway desktop computer (550GR) Windows XP Home Edition, iTunes (latest edition) and unfortunately have never been able to access the store. I used to have Norton Antivirus but decided to uninstall it to see if this would solve the problem (It did not). I decided to use the EarthLink Protection Center (but unfortunately I am still not able to access the music store). I have allowed the program in firewall exemptions in both Windows and PCC but to no success.
I have uninstalled iTunes on two occasions to see if this works but it has not. I have run out of options and would appreciate any help. Thanks.

    I've copied diagnosis from iTunes:

  • Unable to download album art present in the iTunes music store

I'm having a rather odd issue after moving my iTunes music folder to a new partition. It manifests itself as the inability to download artwork for certain albums that are available for purchase in the iTunes store, even though a short time ago the same covers were easily downloadable.
I'm 90% sure that this isn't an issue with the file tags, as these seem to mirror those present on the music store.
    Any solution would be welcomed.
    I'm using iTunes version 7.3.2.6

Are you saying that you can download album art for some albums in the iTunes store but not others?
If there was some general problem with the way you have iTunes set up or your connection, I would have expected you to have a problem with all album art. My first thought is that a problem with the tags seems most likely. The artist name and album name must be exactly right, other fields don't seem to matter. Have you checked for things like extraineous spaces?
iTunes album art is stored in the Album Artwork folder which is in your iTunes folder.

  • I can't find the T.V. Shows in the iTunes Music Store where are they?

    Hi ,
I downloaded iTunes 6 because it said they now have tv shows that you can buy for your ipod but when I clicked on the music store in iTunes I could not see any T.V. Shows where are they?
    Thanks for your help,
    lizabler

Unfortunately the tv shows part of the itunes store isn't available in some countries. If, like me, you're from outside the US (I'm in Australia) chances are that the itunes tv show store isn't available to you yet.

  • How to recover the itunes music from other computer

i am using windows 7 64bit (computer B) with itunes. suddenly i lost the music from the itunes. i have another computer windows 7 32 bit (computer A) with itunes. how to recover the music from computer A to computer B
    thanks
    jimmy

Main thing is why would you be losing your music in iTunes.  If it happened during an update and that's why you need to refer to the article to restore your old library.
However, if you want to move iTunes from old computer to new computer:
    Refer to these articles:
iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer

iTunes: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive
