How to remove Tool Area in EP 7.0

Hi EP Gurus,
I am Using EP 7.0 and the client requirement is that there should be no tool area in the portal display..... How can i remove it?

hi,
you can do by,
goto content administrator (if you have content admin rights) from their you go to either content provided by sap or go to portal users.
from their you navigate to standard portal users open it and select default frame work page ( and this is the main frame work page for your portal if you are just trying then please create your own frame work so that you are not going to be in trouble if have done some mistake)
here you select page tool bar and remove the check mark and make it invisible.

How to remove dark areas from scanned book PDFs?

Hello,
When scanning chapters from a book, I get large dark areas where the scanner picks up 'dead space' from the spine and around the perimeter of the book. I have been able to remove these using the 'Redaction' tool but when I go to save the PDF the size of the file at least doubles in size. Is there a better way to remove dark areas and, if not, is there a way to reduce the size of the PDF without reducing the quality of the text?

I have been able to remove the dark areas using the redaction tool but when I go to save all my files are at least twice their original size.

I often have to crop documents. I noticed that when I crop, the cropped area isn't removed, it is actually just masked. I would like to know if there is any way to remove those areas instead of just masking them.

Yes but its not really recommended.
Its called Re-Frying.
That is create you PDF. Then crop as needed.
Next create a Pdf of the Pdf.
Often times it degrades the sharpness of the Pdf. But if you must actually crop permanently, that the only way, through Acrobat to do it.
There may be some plugin addins that can acomplish this. But if you only have Acrobat , this is it.

Already tried to goLink component but unfortunately does not have the property to execute a method Action.

How to remove and fill in areas of a picture

I am using the 30 day trial of Photoshop and trying to use online Help to learn the "how to's" BUT I'm finding it dificult to always follow the videos and explanations.
I want to remove unwanted areas of a photo and then fill in those areas to match the surrounding image.
I have figured out how to use the SELECT tool to cut out the unwanted areas BUT I can't figure out how to fill in the vacant areas.

Ex IBM er work there for 40 years myself. Even if you worked with computers for years. Your not going to learn Photoshop in 30 days. It will take longer then 30 days for you to become comfortable using Photoshop and much longer to become proficient with it. Photoshop is an on going learning exercise the more you use it the stronger you become.
Many of the video tutorials are done by users that are proficient using Photoshop and they use images that tools like content aware distortion will work well on if you know how to use the tools well. Without that knowledge you will have a hard time using the tools. It also easy to miss point watching a video. Watch them more then once. You also need knowledge of masking and other thing they have pre done for their videos. They make it look easy its not that it hard its most beginners lack Photoshop knowledge

i had to remove a Portal Search option from Tool Area.
My requirment is to removie it from the theme as we don't need it
I performed the following

Portal Content--> Content Provided by SAP->End User Content-> Standar Portal Users
From Default frame work page.Open the same and untick the Visible Check box beside tool area iView in the frame work page.
Now how can i transport these changes from DEV Portal to QUA Portal

You can transpor the pcd content using
Import/export options in SystemAdministration->Transport
But I am afraid that you cannot transport the standard pcd content as its id starts with sap.com.
Best of doing is Don't do any changes to the standard default framework page
Instead of that... you duplicate it and change the id of the framework page then export it
and import in the target portal as said above.
Use that imported frameworkpage in your dekstop.

Check your Downloads folder.
The file name is: FlashbackRemoveal.zip
Then double click that file to open.
Click Accept. After that you should see a dialog window telling your the trojan was removed or not found.

If the BUFG instance is instantiated in the IP or your design then the buffer_type attribute will not work.
The opt_design trims the unconnected instances during implementation. Ensure that the BUFG does not have DONT_TOUCH property set on it which might affect trimming.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. That is not the tool. It is the .dmg image mounted to your desktop. Next to the name you will see a small eject icon. Click on it or highlight it and choose "Eject" from the appropriate Finder menu. Once that happens you can drag the .dmg file to the trash as it will not delete itself.

There have been none that I am aware of for Java, so that is probably either a web page or application that needs Java to run giving you that alert.
