How to remove unused controllers in OS

Hi
We removed (disconnected physically) some LUNs from our Servers.
But we have still this message by asking with vxdmpadm:
root@hostname# vxdmpadm listctlr all
CTLR-NAME ENCLR-TYPE STATE ENCLR-NAME
=====================================================
c3 GENESIS DISABLED GENESIS0
c2 GENESIS DISABLED GENESIS0
c0 Disk ENABLED Disk So our monitoring creats all the time some Events because c2 and c3.
Know someone how to remove this 'disabled' messages?
We are not able to reboot the servers (because after a reboot c2 and c3 rid of)

Your Array/Enclosure information is stored in /etc/vx/array.info ( [http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/238556.htm|http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/238556.htm] )
You will have to edit the /etc/vx/array.info file (which I think you can do from the command-line with vxdmadm and vxddladm commands).
Try playing with the vxddladm command and see if you can remove the array.

Checked with Oracle Support team and confirmed below points
--> incorporated into the Current product and consider as BUG it may resolve future release
--> Currently there isnt any automatic method to remove the unused objects like reports, filters,folder etc from catalog.

How to remove unused Sync devices?

If some Firefox profile gets deleted, the Sync device still remains on the server and there is no apparent way to decommission it. How can one manage sync devices to remove the unused ones?

How to remove unused fonts that are NOT embedded?

I use only two fonts in the PDF I'm currently working on. However, when I export the docx (Word 2010) with the Acrobat plugin, more fonts appear. I already know how to delete additional unused embedded fonts, but there are also some non-embedded fonts like Arial or Calibri that ALWAYS appear.
I presume they are part of styles e.g. whenever I ad a header with Word, Arial appears and will NEVER go away again, not even if I delete all headers. Find/Replace doesn't work, Word never finds the fonts.
So, is there any way to eliminate the fonts after I created the PDF (I'm using Acrobat 10)? I don't want the fonts list to be bloated with fonts I don't actually use.

I think, you should avoid the fonts to appear in the exported PDF in the first place, not manually remove them.
In the export/conversion settings you can usually select between, like, "embed only used fonts" or "embed no fonts at all".
Also, non-embedded fonts are not embedded - so why care about them? The PDF just contains information on the used fonts from the application you used to make the PDF (Word), for font substitution.
" fonts list to be bloated with fonts I don't actually use." What does that mean? What font list? Do you think that the embedded font of a PDF will be installed on the system somebody watches the PDF on? If so, then no, it won't.

How to remove unused codepage from system

Hello all,
Has anyone yet removed codepage (customer codepages) from the system.
If so, could you please tell me how to do so?
I tryed with SPAD, but the option "delete" is always inactive. This customer codepages are also not found with transaction SCP.
I want to delete them, because these are old test-codepages which I don't want to convert regarding my forthcoming unicode-conversion.

The report rscp0004 is obsolete.

the problem is, that these customer codepages (in my case: 9000, 9001 and 9002) don't show up in rscpinst, and they're also not in table TCPDB.
I can only see these codepages in transaction SPAD, and they generate an error/warning at the unicode check.
These codepages are in table TCP00 and the characters are in TCP02.

When I want to delete a response code for a task that already was instanciated, I run the SQL below. You have to delete the instances created in the OSI table. When you try to delete a response code, OIM runs the query below to see if the response can be deleted:

Finding and removing unused replica virtual machines in the VMware Horizon

but I dont know right password of DSN, how can I get ? or is it another tutorial how to remove unused replica virtual machine ?

So what you are trying to do is drill into the Composer Database and find un-used replicas? Do you not know the DSN credentials when you set up the ODBC connection? Was it not documented?
If not, then I do not know if there is a way to crowbar that password information out. Do you have access to the SQL database via Management studio? There are possibly a few options:
1) You could create a NEW user who has permissions on the composer DB and create a NEW ODBC DSN and use this user and password to access the database from the same server using the sviconfig. You are just providing another way of access the same database really without interupting the existing composer connection.
2) You could try resetting the password on the account (and update the ODBC connection on the composer server) - I'd stop the composer service first and then edit ODBC and then resume composer and check everything works!
3) Try and find the information of your account (who set it up?) as this would be the best way moving forward.
My preferred options would be to try 3, 1 and finally 2. I'd always recommend testing things like this in a development environment first so you can really understand the impact/consequence to what you are doing.

Please check your link, it's the same answer for 04 and 04s : outdated.
It seems that SAP made some changes since a few release.
Now it's a WebDynpro Page which manages the personalization for user preferences and there's a Webdynpro Java involved in the process : UmeEnduserPortalApp.
Does anyone has the possibility to read from the application source code what's the method used now to make the language list for the end user ?

How to know and remove unused applications via pacman?[SOLVED]

Hello, I would like to know how to remove them...I mean those packages included [unused anymore] during installation of a specific app...I'm saving space for I only have an 8gb SSD on my Acer Aspire One...My cache are already empty [pkg]...:)

What do you mean "included during installation of a specific app"? The only packages installed with a target package are those packages which it depends on, so you can't remove them if you want the target package to still work. To remove packages that you don't want anymore, use "pacman -Rsn <pkg name>". That will remove the package and it's dependencies.
To see which packages are "orphans", i.e. installed as dependencies for packages that are no longer installed, use "pacman -Qdt". You can remove all of those with "pacman -Rsn $(pacman -Qqdt)".
Take a look at the pacman man page too: "man pacman"

I just saw your post here where you state that you've been making packages with
makepkg -s
Now I understand what you want to remove and why. The "pacman -Rsn $(pacman -Qqdt)" command will do this.
In general though, you should take the time to learn about the utilities that you're using. From the makepkg man page:
-r, --rmdeps
Upon successful build, remove any dependencies installed by makepkg
during dependency auto-resolution (using -b or -s).
-s, --syncdeps
Install missing dependencies using pacman. When build-time or
run-time dependencies are not found, pacman will try to resolve
them. If successful, the missing packages will be downloaded and
installed.
Instead of using "makepkg -s", you should use "makepkg -s -r" to remove makedepends automatically when you're done.

I captured 1 hour of video at a time and now want to delete from my hard drive all the parts I don’t want to use. I have 300GB of junk on my hard drive and I only want to use a few scenes using a few megabytes, so that I'll get most of my 300GB back!!!!
ANSWER:
In final cut on Mac, click on one small clip (to get familiar with process), go to “file”, “export”, then “using compressor”. This will open compressor software. Your file will open in the left top window. Then you need to batch the job or jobs. IMPORTANT: I’ve also solved the Compressor problem when you press “submit” to a batch and it states “Cluster: None”. Search forum for “In compressor you experience what I have”.

Part of the problem could lie in the fact it's an imovie project coming into FCP, wouldn't rule that out. Second my be the terms you use and what you expect to happen. For example, a subclip is just a smaller clip subbed from a larger clip. It has nothing to do with media management. But you can media manage a subclip and delete the unused media.
Try this (be sure to back up the original clip first). take a long clip into the viewer, make an IN and OUT duration of like 30 frames and then subclip that, Modify > Make Subclip. a new subclip will appear in the browser with a torn clip icon and the name Subclip. Right click on the subclip and choose Media Manager.... Check the Delete unused media from duplicated clip. As you toggle that the green Modified bar at the top change from the full clip size to a tiny modified size. If it does not then one of two things ... user error or the system is screwed up. That's the easiest way to test media manager.

Unused Subject Areas -
Use Catalog Manger - Tools - Create a report to with report name and subject area. You will get what are being used.
Use RPD - Tools - Utilities export your RPD to CSV and check the Subject area.
Compare both and remove unwanted subject areas.
Initialization Blocks - We do not use these blocks directy but use Variables that are associated with it. Go to RPD - online - Mangesession - You will see the Variables tab in the window which give list of all variables thats get initialised with the session. --- Session Blocks
Use Report Tools - Query Repository for searching.
Try like this.

Trim Whitespace.vi - remove unused polymorphic VI instances

From some time while building the exe file I have started to receive the error:
Error 1073 occurred at E:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.1\vi.lib\Utility\error.llb\Trim Whitespace.vi
Possible reason(s):
Application Builder: Unable to disconnect type definitions and remove unused polymorphic VI instances for this application. Deselect this option on the Application Settings tab and build the application again.
It did not happen before. Of course I can leave all polymorphic vis in my application, but why I started to get this error? It never happened before. Especially that the Trim Whitespace.vi is not a polymirfic vi.
Any ideas?

Demn.... I remember now. I started to get this error when I saved my vi (for other purposes) with removed diagrams. Probably it removed it also from the vi.lib vis. Wow.... Now I am having problems, how many vis I have destroyed when this happened.

How to remove stubborn colors in Indesign and Illustrator swatch palette

Hello,
There are actually two issues I have with colors in Illustrator and Indesign: One is to remove unused colors in the swatch palette. After I make sure all colors are correctly used in my file, I will select "unused colors" to get rid of extraneous colors but the unused colors still appears in the palette. Second, a color is used in the file (e.g. color designated not to print) but somehow it doesn't appear in the swatch palette until I select "show added colors" in the option pull down menu and instantaneously, it reappears in the palette. How does one hide the color while it is clearly used in the file.
Does anyone have answers to these puzzling issues?

Thanks! I'll try the methods in the link you've provided but do you know the answer to the second question which is clicking on the "new add colors" in the option view. I've seen this happen in several instances where the actual color is being used but it's not visible until you select "new added colors". Keep in mind that this designated color (a process color of magenta) is intended not to print because it's a callout for dieline.
I presumed the creator of this file main purpose is to reveal colors that are printing but hide non-printed colors like magenta dieline in the swatch palette.
