How to remove update.exe?

Every time I tried to start Firefox, it brought up a warning about update.exe. If I chose to ignore update.exe, Firefox did not run. How can fix it so as to run Firefox as usual? Thanks.

Can you post a screenshot of the warning?
Based on [https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=92407.0 this thread], your computer probably has malware that is making this happen. Try running a legitimate antivirus and see if it finds anything.

  • How to remove update notification?

How to remove the update notification as it shown '1' at the top of app store icon? I was asked to update 'facebook' but then it requires my friend's id password instead of mine.. I've signed out all of his data from my iphone, but still can't be updated by my apple id. Help me, i just can't stand with the red dot on the app store icon T_T

If the app was downloaded by your friend's account then only his account will be able to download updates to it - you can delete the app and download it via your own account, and you will then be able to download any future updates to it.

  • Norton security advises me to remove "Updater.exe" from my system. Is this a real firefox update or a bug?

Is updater.exe a firefox file? At various times when starting firefox, I get a pop-up from Norton's downloader insight that warns me that the updater.exe file could not be verified and suggest removing it from my system. Apparently Norton cannot identify the URL this file is coming from.

Firefox does include a file called updater.exe, it sounds like a false positive from Norton.

  • How to remove updates from app store in yosemite

I'm using iWork '09 installed on Yosemite and i receive the alert to update to the new version Keynote, Pages and Number.
Apparently there is no way to remove/dismiss the update's reminder forever or just delete the update request in the App Store list.
    Any advice?
    Thanks.

I just wanted an answer, how do I remove an update from the App Store that I don't wish to install, that's all. I wasn't expected these responses, thanks anyway,, I'm going to try no to ask again within the community, I'll go instead to the web, I might get an straight answer.. Please no response again, I'll try to delete this question.
I have given you an answer twice: you can't do that. The only way to remove an app from the list of updates in the App Store is to accept the update.

  • How to remove update history

I know how to stop the automatic updates but how do I remove or hide the history of every update?
    I.E "updated 23 October 2013", "updated 29 September 2013"
    Please help

    Hey,
What update history do you mean?
Do you mean the Windows update history?
In your case I wouldnt delete it because in my opinion its important to know what updates are installed if an update causes a problem for example.
I wouldnt delete, thats my personal opinion

  • How to remove update manager from vcenter applicance

Long story, but, where update manager had been installed had to be rebuilt.  I am now wanting to remove traces of it.  When I look in vcenter it still looks as though it is queuing requests to look for udpates.  How to stop vcenter from using update manager?
Thanks in advance... this is driving me crazy, I've spent a huge part of my day dealing with this.... thanks again..

For those who are interested, I resolved this by deleting the scheduled task in the vcenter web client.

  • How to remove update

I keep getting the notice that there is a printer update ready from the app store.
I don't want this update. How can I put this update alert on hold without stopping other update alerts that I may want to install?

I did see those options. But, it would be helpful to put items you don't want on hold and not get repeating alerts.
    Thanks.

  • Update for keynote will not install...how to remove update or ignore?

How can I ignore an update for Keynote that will not install? I also have an update for my printer that I have installed 4 times but it still shows as needing to be installed?

Try hiding the Keynote app in the Trash where the Mac App Store can't see it. Then try to redownload it from your Purchases list. You should get the most recent version available.

  • How to remove a .exe virus?

I use a WD hardrive to store all my work. A colleague of mine borrowed it, she uses some HP laptop. Ever since she used it, the hardrive is showing a .exe error on almost all my foders. I cant move any of those files to Trash. Im relatively new at using a Mac. pls help!

Then I don't know how she used that drive because windows can not read or write to a drive formatted mac extended (except with a add on program/utility that can do that). You'd better ask her what exactly she did with the drive and what she copied to it.
If you can't get any files off it or write any files to it then there is only one thing to do. That is to erase or repartition the drive to wipe it clean and start over.
Then the next time someone want to use it just say no it is for a mac and you have a pc.

  • How to remove update option for certain apps

Two years ago my macbook crashed and I had to use a friends external HDD to restore my mac. It worked like a charm and I never looked back. Around a year ago I started to get prompts to update certain apps but I couldn't update those apps as It was still tied to his Itunes accounts. I recently finished school so I have no way of contacting him to get his password. Is there a way to bypass this? Or am I forced to do a complete reset? Also the computer shows up as his name which I assume was because he restored his entire computer into mine. Anyways thanks for the read and cheers. Btw I foolishly threw away the app disc and restore disc while I was cleaning my room one day.

Basically all of the software on your Mac belongs to him and technically at this point is pirated. You should erase the HDD and restore the original version of OS X that shipped on the Mac. If that was Snow Leopard, you need your original Restore DVDs that shipped with the Mac. If it was Lion, Mt Lion or Mavericks, use OS X Recovery, likely over the internet.

  • How to remove update notification for an unwanted app?

Hi, recently, I got a notification to update an app I never purchased ("Nyan Cat: Lost In Space"). I checked with Apple support services, I searched that app on my hard drive and in my iTunes and App Store history, it doesn't appear anywhere. But it's still standing here in the App Store app update section, with a red badge on the icon, inviting me to update this app that has never installed on any of my drives. It's really annoying, is there something I can do to get rid of that crap?

Thanks for your help Dah•veed. I thought that'd be easier to solve but I'll go to an Apple Store.
